The unhelpful winter break

371

Nine days without a game is technically not a winter break but it is double the normal interval Celtic players have between games.  Ironically, it arrives when they found a formation that resolved the performance problems that plagued the club until December.

I would have preferred a midweek game than a break, with three games to make up we have applied pressure to our spring programme, although I’m sure Celtic did not anticipate the turnaround in form when these matters were settled.

  1. For all those with a short memory regarding our manager and his credentials.

Lenny has won 5 out of our current 9 in a row.

    FIVE

Without Lenny, there would be no 9 in a row never mind the Holy Grail quest for 10

    “THE BATTERED BUNNET :

Then the apologies are mine. I direct the same response to SFTB.”

Sorry, James, just as much a waste of time as directing the instruction to TBB.

When you take a breath and write in a considered fashion about Celtic, I have lots of admiration for your work.

But when you are in full volatile toddler temper tantrum mode, your writing deteriorates as you search for exaggerations and lies to diminish a good Celtic man.

Second rate isn’t a mean enough description, let’s call him 3rd rate.

Didn’t worlk any miracles at basket case Bolton isn’t a strong enough jibe for my needs, so let’s call him a failed Bolton manager.

And while we’re at it, let’s ignore his success and call him a failed Hibs manager too, even though he was sacked after a fall out with a CEO thet we have vilified ourselves, and he stood up to a CEO in exactly the manner we advocate as a “healthy” relaionship between coach and Board- the old failed Brian CLough method.

I can accept measured criticism of Neil Lennon and evne agree with it. We are highly likely to have failed to land a winnable 10iar and have had a bad European campaign- all too true and too painful- but accurate.

Try and calm yourself down and get back to a measured critique.

You are just too easily ignored when in toddler mode

tbh I thought with everything else going on, lobbing in a comment about going to dubai would have been wasted. Our massive global business is not lettign anyone travel anywhere, anyone that does it has to be approved in triplicate to the head of the company, and then it is refused, and the person made to feel stupid for asking.

I actually thought one benefit of not being in europe was we wouldnt have that added exposure to players and staff, going ahead with it was just daft.

Here we go, another comment from a government spokesman, “we expect the SFA to look into Celtics trip”.

if own goals counted double this was it.

Totally agree with the points you make re Lennon/Lawwell.

Some people think Lennon is sainted and untouchable on here.

Censorship? There are MODERATORS on this site censoring posts all the time, unless you haven’t noticed and more power to their keyboards.

He is abusing PAUL’s good nature.

He is posting HIS blog on someone else’s site on a regular basis.

His site is dying on it’s arse otherwise he’d have no need for CQN.

His kind make me sick and the sooner he gtf the happier I’ll be.

  6. SFTB,

I was unaware we were going to Dubai as there was no winter break this year. We have three outstanding games that could of been played during this jolly.

As soon as I heard about it, I immediately condemned it on here as did two esteemed posters. ( Philbhoy and Bada Bing ) Prior to the hun game I may add.

Imo, it cannot and should not be defended.

Thank goodness you made that comment, was starting to think I was the only person oblivious to the trip. Even if we had won the Hun game 10:0, it would still be my opinion that it should have been cancelled.

There was concern raised when our game was moved to next week , spfl sanctioned the move and despite moans from Hibs it was allowed so there can be no comeback imo

Totally agree that posts using profanity and abusing other contributers to the blog should be removed, I have no issue with that.

Your reasons for wanting him banned hold no water.

Because you don’t like him/his views/his agenda do not merit banning him. I would call it censorship,

I don’t know him, never met him at a HOOT or a game.

He is still abusing PAUL’s good nature by posting his blog and links on here regularly.

In my book that is abuse.

Why is he posting his articles on here?

I think by now we all know where to find him and his stuff if we want to.

He will always be a chancer. Despicable.

But in real life he might be a nice guy, jesus he might be a Celtic supporter too and not the agitator I think he is.

    Now I’m done discussing him.

    Good evening to you.

If you think Neil Lennon is untouchable on here ,then you must not actually read the blog.

There is real vitriol spouted on here by our own against one of our own. And it is not only by a few.

So please lay off with the faux victimhood of your views being censored because that is pure BS.

And if you can’t handle opposing viewpoints then it is you that has the problem.

Police Scotland have found the time to time to prosecute Margaret Ferrier MP for “Culpable and Reckless Conduct” after taking the train from London to Glasgow on September 29 after being notified the previous evening that she had tested positive for Covid 19. This after she refused to resign as an MP despite being told to do so by Nicola Sturgeon, something beyond Sturgeon’s remit. And also after the Metropolitan Police had concluded that the MP had not breached any regulations at the time of her travel. Now the same legal system Police Scotland/Lord Advocate/HSE/GCC decided in secret, without the fact, that Harry Clarke, who caused the deaths of six people and injured ten others in George Square on December 22 2014, should not be prosecuted following which the Crown Office announced that there was “no evidence to suggest his conduct amounted to a breach of criminal law”. PFAyr on these very pages suggested that he should have been charged with, wait for it, “Culpable and Reckless Conduct” under Scots Common Law. He wasn’t. No coincidence of course that Margaret Ferrier MP is Roman Catholic.

  21. Big wavy…. There is indeed a world full of talent out there…. But that doesn’t mean that talent wants to come or indeed would succeed….. That same world is full of mediocrity and worse naivety….. You see I can’t but help thinking……. Ian Cathro…. Or somebody of a similar ilk…….. Tragedy waiting to happen…. 5 years oblivion

In terms of Dubai, I’m afraid it’s very difficult to mount any credible defence of this nonsense.

We’re a shambles at all levels it would seem.

  25. AD- stupid idea to go to Dubai, but should defend ourselves as was all agreed, given their actions previously, commending the huns for breaking the law, is Jabba working for Sturgeon now?
