“Dear Friends
“Celtic FC Foundation’s Annual Christmas Appeal reflects the very heart of the Club’s charitable and humble beginnings. It proudly follows in the footsteps of Brother Walfrid, providing comfort to those who need it most.”
So starts the letter from Celtic FC Foundation Head of Fundraising, Jane Maguire, as she confirmed this year’s Christmas appeal raised an incredible £220,000.
What are the consequences of this?
373 families in Glasgow, Coatbridge, Bellshill and Girvan, facing poverty and hardship, received significant help.
50 pensioners in the north and east of the city received a Christmas voucher, while kids in the same area received gifts through PEEK (Possibilities for Each and Every Kid).
130 clients of The Simon Community were given a Christmas lunch.
Children living with long-term health conditions at the Glasgow Children’s Hospital received what on some occasions will be their most significant Christmas gift.
Glasgow East Women’s Aid received a Christmas meal and gifts for families at the refuge.
Vulnerable refugees received support through the Scottish Refugee Council.
Glasgow City Mission’s Foodbank received support; they work with an average of 60 households per week.
Loaves & Fishes and Spirit Aid received Christmas hampers and toys for their work with homeless families.
The Wayside Club, Glasgow’s 365 day venue for the homeless received help in providing hot food for the very needy.
The Foundation and Celtic sponsor, Intelligent Car Leasing (more on them later) split the cost of a £10,800 van to allow The Invisibles to carry out their important work.
Parkhead Salvation Army’s work was supported again this year.
St Roch’s Foundation’s meals for the homeless and pensioners between Christmas and New Year will be supported.
Glasgow Night Shelter, who provide food and a safe place for homeless refugees, some of societies more marginalised, were helped.
The Elpis Centre’s work for vulnerable young women was aided.
400 kids received a Christmas Party at Celtic Park.
Oban’s Hope Kitchen’s work to provide food and shelter has been funded.
The People’s Kitchen, Newcastle, who aid the homeless and vulnerable was helped – recognition, perhaps, of the incredible work the Tyneside No.1 Celtic Supporters Club do for the Foundation.
Children in Poverty Inverclyde received clothing, books and toys, as well as a trip to Santa’s Grotto, in consultation with another great club, the Greenock CSC.
Grampian Women’s Aid, Moray Firth Radio’s Cash for Kids, St John the Evangelist’s work (Cumnock), North Ayrshire Women’s Aid, Fife Gingerbread, the Eric Liddle Centre (Edinburgh) were all helped in their work.
Women’s Aid in Dublin, Belfast and Lisburn were each aided.
The Foundation are funding the Northern Ireland Hospice’ Teenage Weekends project for 2017.
Kids at the school in Whitechapel, London, where Bro Walfrid taught, were taken to a pantomime.
London and the South East’s needy were helped through various projects:
Cardinal Hume Centre
Neighbours of Poplar
Hillingdon Cherubs (neonatal work)
Readi-Bank Foodbank
Camden New Journal Appeal
Wimbledon Children’s Hospital – in connection with the Wimbledon CSC
The Brett Foundation
London North West Healthcare Charitable Fund
Our Barn (life skills, aged 16-25)
RNLI Ramsgate
Pilgrims Hospice
SVP Society Broadstairs
Kent Air Ambulance
Kent Foster Care Association
Happy Days Children’s Charity
Big Issue Foundation
The Foundation were asked to pass on gifts received, some of which went to Sean’s Trust – setup by our friend Linda Croker, who lost her husband and CQN’er St John Doyle, three years ago.
What did you do to achieve this?
Founding Fathers’ Fast, raised £1500 on one day.
Celtic Sleep Out – and incredible £80k.
Ghirls for Good, £22k
Bucket Collection, £13k
And nearly half the total was raised by direct donations – like the kind of things we do here throughout the year.
There is a part of this story which is seldom told. People from the Foundation turned up at the door of some of these families this month with envelopes containing cash. The reaction was often beyond gratitude or relief. Many tears of joy are shed as feelings of helplessness find an anchor to cling to.
If you are cold and find warmth, hungry and are fed. If you cannot provide for your children then receive shelter, toys and hope, you know the value of that £220,000.
This is THE Celtic story of 2016.

Good morning CQN from a cool but dry East Devon.
YNWA
So, Ianbhoy929, if only I’d slept for 5 more minutes then I’d have had the Page 10 Podium and it’d have been you that was stuck on the foot of Page 9! Enjoying your reports my friend although generally jealous of the contents!
Just a wee point of clarification about our *** GOALS FOR SHAY *** competition. The reason that we delayed the kick off until 14 January was in the realisation that money can be very tight at this time of year. Plenty of folk have emailed asking to be included but safe in the knowledge that we won’t chase them for £10 entrance fee until next year. So don’t let the money side of it put you off – all you’d be doing just now is just letting us know that you are INTERESTED in playing so that we have you on our radar.
So, join the clique and send a brief ‘I’m in’ email to cqnpredictor@gmail.com
Equally, if you want more specific detail on the competition or on Wee Shay before signing up then contact us on the same email address.
Ta muchy!

PHEASANT FAJITAS
This is brilliant use of a bird that everyone can get a little jaded with as the season goes on. It is really just a quick assembly job.
Serves 4
4 pheasant breasts
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 pear
1 red pepper
2 red onions
1 green chilli
2 plum tomatoes
1 bunch mint
2 tbsp veg oil
Juice of 2 limes
200g (7oz) sour cream
1 bunch chives
4 tortillas (maybe more)
Start proceedings by seasoning the pheasant breasts and searing them skin-side down for two minutes in a hot pan. Turn them over and place them in a 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6 oven for 6 minutes. Remove from the oven and let them rest.
Meanwhile, make the salsa. Finely chop up the pear, an onion, the pepper, the chilli, 10 or 12 mint leaves, and the plum tomatoes. Add the oil and the lime juice and season. Then take the sour cream and add the chopped chives to it. Finally, slice the remaining red onion.
I like to warm the tortillas a little.
Now people help themselves. Slice the pheasant breasts, pile meat on a tortilla, cover with salsa and some onion and slather with sour cream. Food does not have to be boring!

Good morning fellow timites, 1.00 finish for me today or earlier hopefully.
Wee bit of running about then my feet up two weeks… marvellous.
Hello again all you young rebels.
It’s a wonderful bit of reading that post of Paul 67’s about the
great fundraising of the Celtic foundation and all the help they
give to so many sick and poor people especially at this time
of the year.
Now it’s our turn over here almost 14000 miles away from Celtic
park, our Santa is all parcelled up and ready to keep our clubs
name and charitable ethos alive, him and some of the younger
bhoys who where determined they wanted the honour of
representing our club in such a charitable deed will visit the sick
kids hospital on Christmas eve and distribute the presents to them.
Last year our present bearers where so overwhelmed with the care
and devotion those wonderful nurses and doctors gave to those
children some orphaned and in hospital so long they looked on the
nurses as mothers that we just had to give them a wee surprise as
well this time, one local nurse told me the kids have been asking
them constantly ” is it today the Celtic Santa comes ?… the Celtic
Santa…i don’t know about all you ghuys but that makes me feel
sooooo proud.
Very hot predicted for Christmas day here 36 degs so not much
cooking to do just tinfoil the bird and stick in the hot sand, a bit of
olympic diving of the pier, some surfing, 5 klm swim, and after i
waken up the legs and wings will be falling off the turkey :-))))))))
The whole family will don the hoops for our day at the beach, even
wee Grace 3yo, hers reaches down below her knees but if she doesn’t
get to wear it she goes loopy, and it’s always the case we end up with
more tims in our company from all over.
At this point i’d like to thank all those lovely people who took the time
and effort to visit our relatively new Celtic club on the rebel peninsula
there have been so many and all through this great CQN blog i can’t
remember all their names but special mention to the lovely daughters
of COWIEBHOY..HEBCELT…EDDIEINCARMICHAEL…ALMORES BHOY…
Dr MARC…MOOLOOLABA BHOY who is on his way back to Queensland
with lots of great memories of his time with us, we hope to see you all
again hopefully some time soon.
Condolences to all those who have recently lost loved ones.
Lastly, i hope for a lovely Christmas to each and everyone of you and a
happy and healthy New Year.

Well done to all the bhoys and ghirls involved with your efforts.
I see Brendan has been stealing my lines about “never seeing a good game on a plastic pitch”.
The typical goal scored at Hamilton comes from either a defender error or a failed dribble where the ball breaks kindly for an attacking player.
It does slightly favour Hamilton as their home goals ratio is 9:10 (F:A) at home as opposed to 3:9 away.
Melbourne Mick
I really enjoyed reading that. Thanks. And well done for the work you and the club have put in.
Good Morning Bhoys from a very wet Central Scotland Im taking the wife to hospital for more check ups today and she has another scan on the 29th after that we should be more informed and also know when and what treatment she will receive. The Hamilton game tomorrow will be a hard game as we saw recently they are no push overs and there plastic pitch is a great leveler I have a feeling Hamilton might just hold us to a 1-1 draw but I hope im wrong.H.H.

From last night, the only time I missed out was downbat Motherwell about 10 years ago although Inverness was a close call once or twice. I agree it’s good fun, thrill of the chase and all that.
Hopefully I am sorted for tomorrow, if not you will see two big lumps running about like dafties just before kick off.
Maybe we could get St. Stiv’s to do missionary work within the Scottish Klan

Good luck with the hospital visit

Have a word with McMillan who should be available in the hospital they do a fabulous job and will try to help you in any way they can ..

Apologies I’d gone out to pick up the missus from a night out and wasn’t back on here.
I wasn’t having a go at you at all. You commented to Turkeybhoy about the type of posts from two particular posters. I pointed out that a mate of yours is worse in my opinion.

CANAMALAR IT LOOKS LIKE OCD OBSESSION on 22ND DECEMBER 2016 12:28 PM
Greenpinata,
Nothing positive here pal, still scunnered.
Been offered a job in the city, so might be handing all the evidence and information to the City police and asking them if there’s a case and why those responsible to protect our interests would refuse to pursue it and leave it at that, I’m sure if there is an investigation our board would welcome the opportunity for an independent source such as the City police to qualify their actions as in the interests of the club and all shareholders.
CANAMALAR IT LOOKS LIKE OCD OBSESSION on 22ND DECEMBER 2016 5:28 PM
Tony D…,
Let me try to explain again for you,
Collaborative fraud or total incompetence between the SFA and rangers is always the implication of the SFA granting the UEFA license to a club who did not meet the criteria.
No report has as been handed to the police nor has any criminal investigation been requested by “the Gang of Four” nor has any of “the gang of four” claimed to have done so, thought it is still an option.
Resolution 12 does not asked anyone to make any accusations or inquiries about fraud.
Resolution 12 asks the Plc to invite the CFCB to investigate, why did the SFA grant a license to rangers ? A high profile Plc suffering public financial distress that subsequently and predictably liquidated.
“the Gang of Four” found out the Celtic Plc had written to the SFA and the reply from the SFA contains relevant critical omissions and inaccuracies, that would have required the Celtic Plc to seek further clarification had they been included and accurate.
There is no charge of fraud, simply the concern of a member club, that competing organisations who provide different services, SFA (Ltd) and RFC Plc have obligations to meet their contracted responsibilities.
The SFA’s contracted responsibilities with UEFA where to administer the EUFA licensing process to meet the standards of the EUFA rules.
The SFA’s contracted responsibilities with Celtic Plc and all other clubs in Scotland were to administer the EUFA licensing process in compliance with UEFA’s rules.
The SFA failed to meet their contracted responsibilities to any party involved, clearly demonstrable to anyone who can be bothered reading and focusingon the collation of the relevant public record and provenance free evidence and correspondence.
A wee reminder, no one has asked the Celtic Plc for a criminal fraud investigation. That’s a pointless exercise, never an option. The thee reasons why it was never, never an option;
1. No allowed to bring criminal proceedings against affiliated football entities, under UEFA rules.
2. As you say, needs air tight and braces evidence.
3. The CFCB are the appropriate authority to deal with UEFA licensing rules, this is not a criminal process so they don’t need air tight and braces evidence, they have the authority to gather all the evidence from source if their records are inaccurate. inaccurate records means there’s flaws in the system that need to be addressed.
There were no mixed message on a future meeting ever, everyone agreed a future meeting will take place when the Plc call us and let us know when they are ready to speak to us.
It’s strange but everything you could possibly misinterpret you did, is that that spin thing you keep talking about ?
I didn’t spin anything, you suggested it, and that’s all I asked, and also your first post, to me!
Indicated you where walking away, and I said that in my post that I could be wrong, no spin, and no accusations, just questions, .
I see Radio Scotland has been “judicially editing” our manager’s comments about our match tomorrow. They quoted all his negative words about the pitch but none of his positive remarks about the Hamilton club itself.

You’re welcome my friend. I was critiqued the other day and criticised for ‘holding tickets’ by td67. I never have spares. I get our own from Celtic but only ask for others when I’m asked by folk I know are genuine Tims.
Just merely noticed that you where the go to guy if any spares where around, not a criticism just an observation that you seemed to be holding, then poof! The next day your thanking a guy for giving you tickets, how convenient eh? Lol, you shouldend be so thin skinned, you’ve done a few guys in here some good turns, what’s not to like about that? Cam doon ffs.
Hamilton Tim,
Please take this in the correct manner.

Nothing changes, and it will get worse when they see us disappearing over the horizon ….. they see us as the enemy in their midst, but what they need to understand is that we don’t give a shoite about them, or about what they think …. we are a Club like no other, and we have a manager like no other ….. while we move from strength to strength, let them continue to wallow in their bitter cesspool…… their culture and bitterness liquidated their oldco and it will consume this new entity they are trying to force on Scottish society …..bless every single one of them …
On leave from work now, so will be able to catch up on all things Celtic…doo doo
Tomorrow’s game must be in doubt. Just had a look at the forecast, 40-50mph winds from now until kick off and there doesn’t appear to be a break in the torrential rain.

An extract from Johnjames blob
I note that the loveable rogue, Craig Whyte, has pled not guilty to a charge of fraud apropos his purchase of Rangers for a pound. Can he not counter-sue David Murray for overcharging him? I would have expected some change back given the state of the roofs. The charge of fraud is one of gaining a pecuniary advantage through deception. However, given Mr Whyte’s predilection for clandestinely recording his meetings, if these tapes are admissible as evidence we might discover that David Murray, The Artful Dodger, introduced Whyte to Ticketus, which would be a slam dunk for Whyte’s counsel Donald Findlay.
Donald was not available at Edinburgh High Court as he’s up to his knees in his ‘No Pope of Rome’ Stand-up tour. His dry ice new pope routine brings the house down. He had to cancel the tour’s finale at Ibrox for obvious reasons.
Given the state of the roofs and the £18.5m to pay off a fraction of Murray’s debts, a prospective suitor would have little change out of £50m. Murray is compromised here. He had seen the private investigator’s report that asserted that Whyte was a fuyant. He knew that the seed capital was borrowed from The Jerome Pension Fund and Merchant Turnaround. Despite all of this and the vigorous protestations of his gelded board, he proceeded anyway. Did he help Whyte on his way at Ticketus or are they in the habit of shelling out in excess of £27m to a complete stranger with no pedigree in running a football club?
This presents something of a dilemma to Alex Prentice and DCI Robertson. They are keen to secure a conviction as they have squandered millions from the public purse, but at the same time they must protect Murray who is a peer of the realm. Would anyone be surprised if this was settled in Edinburgh’s Hill Street Masonic lodge? Will Findlay be offered a deal where his client accepts a companies act transgression as a slap on the wrist? Those hoping for a show trial where Murray has his trousers pulled down by Donald Findlay may well be disappointed. However in the unlikely event that Murray finds himself in the witness dock he will prove to be as glib and shameless with his lies as the current chairman of the holding company. Murray’s performance as Mr. Black at the Upper Tier Tribunal was a masterclass in mendacity. The Preliminary Hearing in February will be instructive.
This hearing will be followed by Ashley pursuing up to £5m in costs and damages at the Royal Courts of Justice and BDO finally accepting HMRC’s £92m claim on their fast diminishing recovery pot. If Whyte and Worthington have their way, the defence costs and joint liquidators’ fees will leave BDO without a pot to piss in.
When EBT are finally declared illegal will Celtic finally grow a pair and go after the tainted titles? To paraphrase Ally McCoist :”Will they try to take away our dignity?” Do you think Peter Lawwell will throw Regan under a bus? I personally think it will be all hushed up and swept under the Axminster at Hampden.
So a packed agenda ahead for you, our award-wining social media journalist. I hope you’ll soldier on.”
