Ticketus secure their £40m of tickets

1467

None of you will be surprised at today’s opinion from the Court of Session in Edinburgh that Rangers’ deal with Ticketus cannot be set aside, despite some absolutely pitiful reporting to the contrary.  It’s fine to get things wrong every now and then, we all get Duff information on occasion, but please….

It’s worth recording, Ticketus may only have paid £20m + vat but the tickets they own are worth in the region of £40m. High risk investments require a high return.

Rangers’ administrators argued that the deal inhibited their ability to rescue the company but the heroic Blue Knights submitted a bid accommodating Ticketus, undermining the administrators’ argument. If only the Blue Knights were in a position to strike a deal with Craig Whyte they could be regarded as helping the situation instead of being hapless fools.

Next up is HMRC, who have not capitulated and agreed to accept a few pennies in the pound.  They have not agreed to accept anything less than all monies owed.  Soon after that we will hear that no court has been able to set aside Craig Whyte’s security over Ibrox.  The most underappreciated man no longer in Scotland remains the only person with a reasonable chance of phoenix-ing Rangers.

The first 26,000 (approx.) tickets sold to each Rangers game for the next three years are owned by Ticketus.  In the event a phoenix occurs, Rangers will have to revert back to budgets from their glory days of the 1950s – we will soon be told this is a great omen.

If you are going to Ibrox on Sunday, take care and enjoy your visit.  Take photographs of the occasion and send them in, we’ll perhaps use them on a future edition of CQN Magazine.  It may prove to be the end of an era.

If you’ve not read the article below, about one of Jinky’s great performances, do so now.

Issue 7 of CQN Magazine is out now! Go to the dedicated magazine site here to read it properly (which you’ll not be able to do below).

Thanks to everyone who has bought a hard copies of the magazine, it looks like the sold out sign will go up again.  Order your copy for delivery by clicking on the link below for news and views from Celtic supporters.

Answer yes but only if more information is put before the court to justify it.

Should read Answer maybe but only if more information is put before the court to justify it.

  4. Jim Duffy on RC condeming the thuggery of players who go out of their way to take out the main footballers in the opposition’s team. He was giving us his thoughts when questioned about Mark V.Bommel’s tactics on Messi in the forthecoming CL game.

This is the same man who applauded The Mullet’s game plan for M’well in their games v Celtic. I remember him rambling on about them ‘evening up’ the game by using force on Celtic’s players. He basically summed up everything that is wrong with football in this backwater country. He would have been delighted with ‘Elbows’ performance last week at Tannadice.

    Give me strength.

  9. Unlike others I don’t think Paul needs to recind or alter his leading article.

    Consider the following:

“It’s worth recording, Ticketus may only have paid £20m + vat but the tickets they own are worth in the region of £40m. High risk investments require a high return.”

THIS IS A STATEMENT OF FACT

“Rangers’ administrators argued that the deal inhibited their ability to rescue the company but the heroic Blue Knights submitted a bid accommodating Ticketus, undermining the administrators’ argument. If only the Blue Knights were in a position to strike a deal with Craig Whyte they could be regarded as helping the situation instead of being hapless fools.”

THIS IS ALSO TRUE, THOUGH COLOURFULLY EXPRESSED

“Next up is HMRC, who have not capitulated and agreed to accept a few pennies in the pound. They have not agreed to accept anything less than all monies owed.”

AS THINGS CURRENTLY STAND THIS IS CORRECT

“Soon after that we will hear that no court has been able to set aside Craig Whyte’s security over Ibrox. The most underappreciated man no longer in Scotland remains the only person with a reasonable chance of phoenix-ing Rangers.”

THIS IS NOT PROVEN BUT IT IS NOT UNREASONABLE CONJECTURE

The first 26,000 (approx.) tickets sold to each Rangers game for the next three years are owned by Ticketus.

    THIS IS TRUE

“In the event a phoenix occurs, Rangers will have to revert back to budgets from their glory days of the 1950s – we will soon be told this is a great omen”

THIS IS NOW MORE UNCERTAIN AND SUBJECT TO CERTAIN LEGAL ARGUMENT BUT NEVERTHELESS A PERFECTLY IMAGINABLE OUTCOME

While I like your thinking the litigation if any is going to be between whyte and Ticketus. The effect on rangers of that litigation will negligible in that whyte will take very penny he can from rangers anyway.

How will squirm about how much he has to pay Ticketus but what he doesn’t have to pay he will keep. Rangers will pay one way or another.

  12. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!..Truth and Justice will always prevail on

Never alone …… You’re alone on THAT one……..!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. Should liquidation accompanied by the unlikely banishing THEM to SFL Third Division, just how much could Ticketus reasonably expect to charge and receive for season tickets?

79 blows takes you into the top 10% of world golfers BTW.

90% of golfers have never broken 80….now for your next lesson…putting….

See all them short putts, 8 feet and under, imagine the hole is 2 feet behind the cup, take the break out [ within reason ] and you won’t go far wrong.

    I used to practice something like, 10 at 3 feet, 10 @ 5 and 10 @ 7, and I wouldn’t stop till I got every one, then I hit a drive that went out of bounds :>))))

    Keep at it mi hermano.

No we don’t ya muppet, we have the yes camp and the no camp. Correct me if I am wrong but two choices does not make a range does it?

Relax m8, we have got ourselves into a very strong position and you are going a bit crazy at Neil there.

Theres nothing that can be done about the Kayal tackle until the next game happens, let’s wait and see the team that Neil sends out on Sunday, I think it will be selected with the thugs we are facing in mind and will be one that has muscle and attitude.

I remember the first time I posted that there would be court cases on the horizon, and I was laughed at, not a bother, everybody has their own views.

It’s been on the cards for long enough, the Dougie Dougie thing was the real start of things, and it was smashing us in the face that they were out of their depth.

They have ran Scottish football into the ground, and as soon as they are challenged by people who have forgot more than they will ever know, the writing is on the wall.

In a couple or three words…………..

    They are fecked :>)

  24. the long wait is over on

    Quonno

It doesn’t matter. Rangers borrowed say £ 20 m and agree to pay back say 40 m. Think Wonga.com.

They agree they’ll pay that back by passing on the ticket money before they take any.

It doesn’t matter if they don’t sell a single ticket they still owe the money anyway and just have to find another way to pay it back. Over a very long time.

To ticketus if no liquidation or setting aside of their contract by the court And if they are in liquidation or the contract is set aside to craig whyte for the reasons I posted on the last page.
