Someone made the point to me over the weekend, 30 goals, and counting, from midfield, rivals 53 from Henrik Larsson as a central striker. It is an unnecessary burden to compare Kris Commons to Celtic’s greatest player in four decades, even Henrik couldn’t compare to the memory of Henrik, but the history books will show for decades to come, Kris Commons is a rare gem, a Celtic player for the ages.
He’s the definition of a Moneyball player, he’s a great multiple Player of the Year and he’s ours.

jmccormick – Hi, Marriott is a bit isolated (it’s a golf resort approx 5 ams out of Denia and 7kms out of Javea). IAlicante airport one hour to the South, Valencia airport one hour to the North. f you have some free time, Calle Loretto in Denia is a good place to head for some Tapas or a meal. It is in the old town and just 5 mins walk from the main commercial street, Marques de Campo.
It is still low season (although busy last couple of weeks for Easter and bank holiday breaks) so I wouldn’t expect to find anywhere particularly buzzing on a Wed night. Best time to go would be around 9-10 pm. Aqua del Mar on the Denia Marina is also a good place and a great location to watch the sunset. Bar Republic on the Marina also a nice place to eat but more international than Spanish.
Best sea food but an unremarkable location is Bar Aitana near the bottom of the Marques de Campo. Cheers.

hello , last post went missing. The possibility of the Hoper and Snodgrass is not even a possibility.
Firstly, Norwich will have sheds of parachute money to play with, so no need to sell. Secondly they will probably have a new manager, if he does not fancy either of the two players he will get around £10m for them in the inflated market down there…………when have we last spent a sum anywhere near approaching that?

I like you think Fraser will go because he wants to get back to England and the other player likely to go is Virgil obviously Commons will go if he doesnt sign a new contract.However,PL has to be careful gates have fallen this season and if he sells to many players they in my opinion would fall even further and Lennie could walk.There needs to be balance if we are to move forward as a club. From the last thread re Lee Trevino biog and the Donegal trip.
Apologies for the delay in replying, the grandweans arrived and everything stops for them. We’re playing Girvan on the way to the ferry, picked up at Larne, staying at the Harbour Inn Buncrana and playing North West on Saturday and Ballybofey on Sunday. Possibly squeeze in another round at North West on Monday. We’ve played Dunfanaghy, Portsalon(both stunning)and Ballyliffen(a challenge in a 40mph gale) on previous trips. I was personally hoping to play Murvagh this time rather than Ballybofey but one of our gang hails from there and so I’m happy to indulge him. The organiser has put a lot of time and effort into it and got us another great deal.I doubt even you could beat it! Many thanks for your help with the Trevino biog and your other suggestions I’m sure they’ll go down well with the winners.

Kris Commons has never renewed a contract in his career.
Stokes signed on reduced terms.
Sammi refused a wage decrease.
Kris will need to be sold this summer unless we change the club policy for him.
I would statistically and successfully argue that at a higher level Sammi is a far more effective player. He refused a pay cut and is gone.
Why would Kris Commons do so ?
The promise of a coaching job after he hangs up his boots is all that will be offered unless there is a change of policy. That will not happen.
I think the club will want to make the SPL more exciting. They cannot play moneyball with regards the CL, not if you want anyone to take you seriously.
More downsizing, while winning entry into the CL and selling our best players to EPL clubs will continue.
We can get excited about records
