WWS raffle updateCelticRollerCoaster and the Walk With Shay team kindly wrote this piece to update you how your efforts thus far have progressed.  I read stuff like this in genuine awe of the people I call friends.  Well done to each and everyone one of you.

I posted a more detailed (and excellent) read on the subject a moment ago, which you can view here.  Here’s CelticRollerCoaster:

As you know by now as part of our incredible journey to date, we managed to obtain the signatories of the last 11 Club Captains of Celtic on two tops; one home and one away. Two very special and unique tops covering 53 years of unbroken history. The professionally designed and framed Away Club Captains top is First Prize in our Walkwithshay raffle along with many other amazing Celtic prizes, with the draw being made on May 25th at Celtic Park so only 20 days left. The Celtic FC Foundation will also benefit in the share of proceeds.

To date, we’ve had an incredible response from all over the country and indeed worldwide (as far as Australia and Bermuda believe it or not) with just over 2,000 tickets already out there being sold by our amazing Green Raffle Army and directly by ourselves, but don’t worry we’ve kept some back just for you!

So, if you have still not bought your tickets, to win some of the incredible prizes on offer and also help these two great causes, please get in touch now.

Remember you can buy tickets by contacting the campaign team directly via the usual methods such as email walkwithshay@yahoo.com, Facebook and Twitter @walkwithshay or from one of our many Green Raffle Army sellers.

We will also be at outside the pools office at the start of the concourse (CQN corner) from 1:30pm prior to the game on Saturday if you wish to pick up tickets from us then.

As well, as the Club Captains Away top, our other amazing prizes include:

A full list of the prizes can be obtained by emailing us at: walkwithshay@yahoo.com

Part 1 of our incredible journey to obtain these incredible pieces of Celtic History can be read here (Attach link).

  3. Just learned that tickets are on sale for the Cup Final and then I come to CQN to discover that Aberdeen are actually being allocated 700 more tickets than ourselves. Who came up with that one? They couldn’t even sell out their allocation for the League Cup Final. Surely to Ghod, of nothing else, that should have counted for something. How many did they sell for the semi-final? Something doesn’t smell right here, imo.

Just how far are supporters going to let their intelligence be insulted and our club loyalty used against us?

That cause/issue needs leadership to take it to a conclusion.

Otherwise we are disparate lone voices without focus and ultimately purpose.

  18. Celtic should inform the SFA, William Hill, Sky and the BBC that in protest against the ridiculous ticket allocation, they will not take part in any Cup Final build up media events and there will be no players available for interview before and after the game. Total media blackout for the SFA’s showpiece event. All interviews etc to be carried out in-house by Celtic TV and released to all via You Tube.

Let the SFA explain to their main sponsors why they are not getting access to Celtic

I was staying until recently(2yrs ago) in one of those swanky over the top flats at Glasgow Cross….never saw a single Tory once:)

    Hookers,Headcases, and Huns…but nae Tories.

I grew up in the Calton, went to St Alphonsus….never knew what a Tory was then, only good Irish folk.

The auld yins that are not around now, would be astonished at Tories winning in Calton….staggered.

    Sad times indeed.

  20. Phyllis Dietrichson on

Reading back on the political stuff from last night, one poster upbraided Ernie Lynch for saying the Tories were “lower than vermin”, the poster saying the language was unbecoming for CQN. Now I’m not an Ernie apologist – we disagreed on his view of the legitimacy of the American electoral system – but the expression Ernie used was first used by a post- war socialist hero – Nye Bevin.

Anyway – great news about Paddy Roberts, I’d love if we could keep him for just one more season before Michael Johnstone makes the number 7 shirt his own.

See lots of you in Lisbon – hail hail the Celts are there.

  21. GREENPINTA….Are you in McCuills yet ?………you will see me, cos I’ll be wearing my feckin Calton Tory Rosette…..NOT !

    Gary67,

I don’t know if we can do that but we should certainly do what we can to highlight this.

We can. Sevco do not have any contact with the BBC, no consequences, still get their cut of the money for the radio coverage deal.

    Re Banner Discussion Yesterday

I have just come down the Peel Glen Road in Drumchapel – at the Sports/ Recreation cages and bus turning circle there is a “shrine” “memorial”

to some young Rangers fan – I’m not sure the circumstances but obviously gone before there time.

The scarves and banners are almost overwhelmingly of a Rangers nature

However the Centre Piece is a 6X3 printed banner with a montage of Rangers heros of the past (centre piece one Barry Ferguson) and either side of the faces of their heroes is “6” and “6”

Just the way that it was on the banner over the bridge over the A8 last Saturday morning .

Looks possible the Media may have taken a message from that banner that suits a certain narrative.

I’m no Rangers historian obviously but this was professional merchandise, and obviously a homage, at the memorial

    – not a home made sick attempt at a wind up
