We don’t need no stinkin’ courtesies

1494

Scottish football has afforded defending champions the courtesy of a home game on the first day of the season to allow the league championship flag to be unfurled at the start of the new campaign for as many decades as I remember.

As this has, in effect, become a courtesy to give Celtic a home start to the campaign in as many years as my sons can remember, we’ll be at Tynecastle on the opening day of the season. Flag Day will have to wait.

That said, I like the idea of taking on Hearts away, then our nearest challengers, Aberdeen, at home. Come through this successfully and we will be in excellent shape for the campaign.

The Aberdeen game comes immediately after the final round of European qualifiers, so we have an opportunity to finish August in a real high – if we get the preparatory work done early enough.

Bring it on.  We don’t need no stinkin’ courtesies.

What’s your opinion on UKIP’s breaking point poster? It seems to encapsulate exactly what you have being saying on here.

And for someone who apparently isn’t concerned about migrants from the EU you seem to be very anxious to convince people that a post exit UK will be able to stop EU migrants coming to live and work here.

My only concern on the matter is to point out that that is false.

The Brexiters are lying to people about the issue.

By the way, I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the Labour Party.

    I vote Labour, that’s it.

  9. Would Brexit prevent Celtic from signing the best of foreign players? Or would we be reduced to signings from English giants such as Acrington, Barnsley, Brentford, Burnley, Bolton, Carlisle, Crewe, etc.

LOL! Aye – when I started playing with a “real” ball I couldn’t understand why it was suddenly so difficult to score direct from a corner kick! :-))

  16. Look forward to that Sipsini, Had a good day Gerry, sang a few songs in the Celts Well myself, good pub. Santa Ponsa is Green & White. Have a great holiday.

  17. Watching Albania v Romania. Going into 5 minutes stoppage time. Very tense and great atmosphere. Albanians going crazy.

  19. Does the Bosman ruling apply to non EU countries as I believe it is based on freedom of movement between all EU members?

Or is it a UEFA rule based on membership of an associating affiliated to UEFA?

  20. Mark Lawrensen is so cynical towards foreign teams and players. His whole attitude is disrespectful and dismissive, almost as if he doesn’t want to be there.
