When looking for a new manager, Celtic usually try to fix the biggest shortcoming the previous guy had. In May 2019, Neil Lennon’s biggest asset was his “eye for a player”. There were other attributes. he twice got Celtic into the Champions League group stage where he delivered some of the most memorable nights in our European history, but Celtic’s decline started with his predecessor’s inability to sign quality players after the arrival of Scott Sinclair.
When it fall apart last season, Neil seemed unable to imagine how to organise a squad that was performing significantly below the sum of its individual parts. Apparently simple tasks, like how to organise at defensive set pieces. The answer to that particular question was Eddie Howe.
Howe took a team of lowly £17m misfits and marshalled them into a very solid unit. He also had other attributes, but that ability to defend a corner kick was very convincing.
I spoke to Peter Lawwell soon after Brendan Rodgers left and again after Neil Lennon’s departure. Neither Neil nor Eddie fitted the bill he was initially looking at. On this occasion, Ange Postecoglou fits perfectly. Technically proficient, capable of withstanding the intensity of our game, with an ability to make us a far better team three years out than we were when he took over.
It’s that last attribute we recruited yesterday. Neil and Brendan both left teams that were poorer than two years previous. We hired a builder.

A lie cannot be true and therefore not real. Nothing that is not real exists and will in time collapse as the reality of the truth emerges from the lie.
The truth will not be the ending of Celtic, it will in my experience be the best thing that could ever happen to us.

Yes there are certainly ‘loose ends’, to put it mildly, over the last ten years, that have been conveniently ignored, or, ‘explained away’. The entitlement of the Ibrox club and the expediency of the Scottish football authorities are not new phenomena.
However football life, such as it is in Scotland, will go on and Celtic will be a part of it – why? – because we have nowhere else to go. After having their fingers burned in the past and in light of recent events in the west of Scotland, the English game would not touch a Scottish influx with a sterile barge-pole
When I was younger the Ibrox establishment & philosophy ruled supreme. The Scotland team was always full of Rangers players and was supported largely by the Ibrox legions..players like McNeil, Johnstone, Clark, Lennox…etc were usually overlooked if there was a suitable Rangers player available. I lost all interest in the national team after Celtic players were routinely abused & booed by the majority at Hampden, when selected.
Now we have a situation whereby the mainstays in the Scotland team are either current, or, former, Celtic players, all super-keen to pull on the jersey. There is also, to my absolute amazement, a significant number of Celtic fans actively supporting the national team.
In my opinion there will be no ‘day of reckoning’. Our concentration must only be on the future.
Celtic and its constituency have been the victims of injustice in the past. That will continue because of where we live.
If we set out to right every historic wrong, we’d be doing nothing else.
Doing a ‘Belfast Celtic’ is not an option. We cannot be defined by what goes on at Ibrox/Hampden, or, the bigotry that is extant & has never abated in Scotland.

Did you ever read the contents of www,res12.uk and having done so come to conclusion that all that it says is that some “loose ends” exist?
You are misrepresenting the issue now in the same way The Celtic Board have done, which is presenting the matter as righting wrongs by the SFA when what is in play now is righting the wrongs of The Celtic Board.
Those wrongs can be righted because it is in Celtic’s power to do so and will be in their interests to do it.
If we move on without that happening the custodians are being given total power to act as they please. If they can lie to shareholders at an AGM with impunity, whether the lie was deliberate or due to negligence then what is the point of an AGM other than to keep the mendacious in power?
If the truth can be buried with no admission and no correction then the AGM process is nothing but a sham.
What is the point of shareholders raising resolutions if the Celtic Board can justify not adopting by avoidance of the truth?
Shareholders have rights and Directors have responsibilities and when one is trodden on and the other ignored there is no accountability whatsoever of the custodians.

Only those who do not want their breaches made public advocate moving on, using the tried and tested method of bringing in a new manager in the hope football success lets them retain full power over those who are either content to be part of the lie or are ignorant of it.
Celtic do not need to threaten doing a Belfast Celtic, they just need to say that in 2011, the UEFA licence was granted on false pretence but The Board took the view that it was not in The Company’s interest to pursue financial correction, not avoid as happened at the2019 AGM addressing what took place in the grant period which had been drawn to their attention on three occasions. Of course if the licence was granted properly they can say that too.
I make good points because they are based on principles not expediency and anything that ignores sound principles is, sooner or later, doomed to run into the reality such principles reflect.
Summing up. if you want the truth buried there must be something to hide and given the lengths Celtic have gone to hide the truth then the truth must be something those responsible fear and those advocating moving on should be wondering what it is, not throwing in deflection and avoidance grenades to keep a lie alive.
