Wind of change set to blow through Lennoxtown

892

There appears to be nothing more than a desire to move-on behind Johan Mjallby’s decision to leave Celtic at the end of the season but it leaves the original four man coaching team of Neil Lennon, Alan Thompson, Mjallby and Garry Parker reduced down to two.  The management team needs to be rebuilt.

Assistants do more than just put the cones out and get players go through their paces.  They are an extra pair of eyes and ears, at the side of the field and in the dressing room.  When they are most effective, they are a source of learning, bringing improved techniques and ideas into the club, forcing the manager to reconsider established practices.

Strip some of the greats of their productive partners and they proved to be prosaic underachievers; Cough without Taylor was a sorry sight.  By contrast, Ferguson played the assistants’ game perfectly, swapping them every few years to enhance his stock with fresh flavour.

Alan Thompson was not directly replaced but irrespective of the speculation which constantly surrounds the club, a wind of change will blow through Lennoxtown this summer, filling the gaps in the original four man team.

If you’ve wondered about getting involved with some of the charity events surrounding the club there is a perfect opportunity coming up.  The Foundation is having a badge day at the Dundee United game on Sunday 11 May.  This is an important opportunity to anchor the ethos of the club to its roots by engaging thousands of Celtic fans in the simple act of buying a badge for charity.

All monies raised will go towards supporting those afflicted by homelessness in the Glasgow area.  I volunteered to help on the day and offered to put the word around, over 100 bucketeers are needed.  If you want to help, all you’ll need to do is turn up early for the game, wear a hi-vis vest and hold a bucket, but I can assure you, you’ll enjoy it.  Email the foundation with your name and phone number: cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .

HT yes this Saturday. Thinking a wee visit to Queen Street.

BSR I know what your saying mate. That’s what the visit to his lawyer was about. He is contacting the PF to see if any charges are forthcoming. Once that is resolved he will be contacting Celtic.

  3. The new number two should be Willie McStay. He knows and loves the club. He has a pedigree as a coach, assitant and manager home and abroad. He was also rumoured to replace WGS but for some reason he fell out of favour or is he riding our Trojan horse into English football with the CELTIC Nation FC?

I don’t think speaking to anyone about mt’s son will do any good.

As HT points out, there’ll be no reversal till the boy has had his day in court.

The green brigade are wanted by the majority. The atmosphere they create especially on european nights is brilliant. Viva the GB!

    ———–

Not sure I agree with your sentiment that GB are wanted by the majority, as there is nothing other than anecdotal evidence to support your suggestion.

Personally, I am confused by who the GB are, and what they are about.

I thought the display against Juve, which the GB seemed to instigate & roped in others to execute, was brilliant.

Equally, when other events occur, they seem to distance themselves, and deny responsibility. Which is fine, but leaves a lot of folk confused as to who are they, and what is / isn’t a GB activity.

Whilst they can bring lots of positive, I am always minded, that Celtic Park had great atmospheres long before the advent of the GB, and will have similar long after their demise

( and mine, although hopefully I have a few years to go :-)

Can someone explain to me under which legislation a Police force or a PF’s office can provide the name of someone suspected of commiting a crime to a third party?

I emailed John Paul last week about the U17 game against Sevco’s young team being advertised as Celtic v r*****s . After a couple of emails back and forth I was asked if I would like to come up to Celtic Park for a meeting with John Paul regarding my concerns .

I accepted the invite and had a meeting lasting over an hour with John Paul sitting in the main stand during which time we discussed my initial point and various other issues from catering to stewarding to the GB.

John Paul listened and attempted to answer all my questions ( with some limitations ) regarding what or how much he could say .

I think if mighty tim was to contact him and get a similar response then it might help his Bhoys situation .

When have the GB distanced themselves from when it’s events they were thought to be responsible for?

I can only think of Fir Park and I think that seeing as not one member of the GB was arrested for events that evening then they have a right to distance themselves on that occasion.

Ps your still as ugly as ever :-)

  22. And still the hurt goes on. David Curry, on Reporting Scotland, informs us of Sevco’s glorious victory last night over the mighty Ayr Utd, which enabled “the Champions to keep up their unbeaten record”. Now, it’s ok to call them “the Champions”, as long as you insert the word “divisional”, David. Anything else might be regarded as slightly misleading, maybe even deliberately so.

He also informed us that Andy Murray is still searching for a new coach, but won’t be consulting Sir Alex Ferguson.

As FGF said, get in touch and speak to them direct. Insist.

This kind of blatant disregard for faithful season ticket holders and fans is another illustration of the cavalier and discriminatory action that pushes me further into the ‘Don’t renew’ camp.

    HT,

Motherwell was the one that sprang to mind, and the other one relates to numbers.

I have picked up on blogs like this that they have 70ish numbers, but , when I see them at CP, there are / were hundreds in their section, which leaves me confused as to who is / who isn’t in the GB.

I wasn’t being critical of GB, just expressing a view on a matter that confuses me.
