  1. Afternoon Timland from a very wet hun free mountain valley.

CQN is but a very small part of the interweb, to suggest that the smsm get their info and anti Celtic stuff from here is a pathetic stab in the dark.

KDS for example is 100 times worse than here, there are posters there convinced that RD will get the sack on tuesday and John Hughes is taking over.

But the blubbering buffoons on here will blame the posters on here who dare to suggest that we are no Celtic supporters who have the best interests of the club at heart.

How successful was your sign up day for the trust? Are you (plural) the committee/board members happy with how the trust are proceeding and how the membership is increasing.

We are just heading off to The Buddhist centre , my mindfulness reading today is,how to deal with conflict and anger. I’m really looking forward to it.

  4. JNP

We were delighted with the number of new members and hope to have another recruitment drive, either later this season or at the beginning of next.

Obviously, we’d like all Celtic supporters to become Trust members but there are a few Doubting Thomas’ out there :-)

    Enjoy your day sir.

  5. Jinkyredstar I,m in Lewis as I said excellent fishing both here and Harris, you should take a trip. H H Hebcelt

  6. Cowiebhoy,

I tuned into the game late in the first half and thought we looked a bit tentative on the ball. I think everyone on the park and in the stands were a wee bit nervous.

It looked like the players were feeling what the support was feeling, nerves.

We all want to see Celtic doing well and disposing of the Ross County and Inverness’s of this world with the greatest of ease, but is just not happening right now. I was happy to take the three points and put pressure on the sheepsters .

I think we are going through a dip in form and it will be righted once we have a settled eleven, which BTW we haven’t had all season

    Who? :-)

Absolutely delighted with the 3 points yesterday. I couldn’t understand folk booing at half time when only seconds beforehand we score to take the lead. Absolutely mental.

  8. An open debate is fine but if you disagree the with CT stance, then your not on, my opinion on CFC it’s everything Celtic for me, and from the heart bottom line is others want a fan on the board and good luck to them on that, but at what price does this need come to? You may got to every Celtic game of the season, but you still have an agenda, otherwise why would you join the CT, ? You do as they say, that’s what clubs are, they have rules, and you dance to they’r tune, me? I don’t need the CT.

The smsm don’t need any encouragement from us they are out and out bhuns, who put a negative slant on anything to do with Celtic, whichever is fine …. Our resistance continues …. my confusion is why some Celtic Supporters don’t just ‘stay away from’ the sports MEEJA …..works for me

I also cannot, for the life of me, comprehend why our Board don’t go for the meeja’s jugular on certain specific issues …….

  10. I like to make my own mind up; although the wisdom of that may have caused my wife a few facepalms in the past…

But I did make my mind up about Ronny Deila about 18 months ago.

Didn’t need to trawl through the dirge of some twisted hacks’ repetitive mantras of plagiarism to call him as I saw him.

    Nice guy. Talks the talk.

Can’t walk the walk. Life’s full of them.

Doesn’t have a clue when the heat is on. And Celtic aren’t here to provide Ronny and other rookies with the ‘experience of failure they need to eventually succeeed’.

You can divorce talk of PL interference by now – RD’s been given plenty leeway and plenty cash (and plenty gifts – re: young Roberts, the ‘English Messi’ who’s apparently not good enough for US yet…) and he’s bombed.

Armstrong, GMS, Johansen – just three who wouldn’t have seen the bench even in Tommy Burns’ early days of rebuilding under Fergus’ stringent budgets.

Somebody said there’s no more heroes – yes, because that’s the element RD’s football philosophy discounts; all for one and one for all, a collective effort sharing responsibility and energy.

    Pure soccer socialism.

But, not wishing to be political – note it’s only a reference point, flake politicos – football has never been about such purity of design.

Football needs stars. Teams of journeymen NEED stars beside them – to look to to win games, to look UP to, and to play FOR and with. Even in recent times, despite the blinkered idiocy of many in the stands we had Samaras dividing opinion everywhere EXCEPT where it counted – on the park where his team-mates valued his specialist abilities immesurably. They recognised his top qualities, knew that in the really big games we had a player who could compete and lead by example, take the pressure off and turn matches, whom they would gladly follow.

NOTHING wrong with a couple of quality bhoys in the mix to be protected and fed and played in time and again.

But Ronny Deila does not share that belief. 18 months of attempting to build a team of industrious nobodies and every time we’ve seen a rare light flare ( eg. Scott Allan?) it’s stifled in games to come; benched, the odd cameos, etc.

We need to start building a team around TALENT, NOT industry.

We need a manager who believes in that.

  11. Hamiltontim

The booing at half time was I believe in part due to Mr Clancy’s contribution to the first half and a recent blunder just before half time , which is too difficult to recall amongst his poor display.

    HH

  12. If the Celtic Trust have said anything about the current team or manager I’ve yet to see it.

Me thinks someone is trying to create division amongst the support with spurious claims to suit their petty agenda.

    Mmmm wonder why?! :-)

  13. Ekbhoy

I think your right to an extent. I do think though that some would have been booing regardless of Clancy’s woeful performance.

  14. eddieinkirkmichael on

A win is a win for aw that, I couldn’t care less as long as we win the league. Surprised that some don’t like us winning when we’re not at our best and still out playing the opposition.

I’ve seen worse teams than less get a lot less stick even when they got beat.

The mind boggles, just what would make you happy?

  15. Hamiltontim,

I thought any booing at half time was for Gardyne who had just blootered Lustig off the ball in front of 4th official and nearside linesman but predictably ignored.

  16. 67Heaven

I agree, my point was posters suggesting that the msm read here and are influenced by what is posted is a joke.

The club really need to grow a set, the silence is sure no helping us, the opposite in fact, the more we stay silent, the more they attack us.

  17. Serious Football Question

I see many of you saying Scott Allen should be in the team

I’m still to be convinced, not seen enough of him ? The odd good pass, and quite a few poor pieces of play, giving ball away and not tracking back

So 6 months into the signing of Scott Allen, anyone think he is going to become a first team regular in the Celtic team ????

  18. So the debate rages on.

Some are for Ronnie , some against.

And that’s fine on a blog.

What’s not fine IMO is booing and personal abuse of Celtic players at Celtic Park.

    So disappointing yesterday.

The team are struggling for a bit of confidence and form.

Surely our part is to support and encourage them.

That’s not what I heard yesterday.

The players seem scared to try things for fear of abuse.

I’d rather we had 15k hard core roaring support for the team than 30k with half screaming in derision.

Without trying to be negative, what did you think of Craig Gordon ball distribution yesterday ?

Cannot help our defence and midfield when he constantly gave ball away

Incidentally, I thought booing at HT, was directed at ref, as pointed out Gardyne had just got away with another poor challenge on Lustig ?

  20. Eddieinkirkmichael

Are they Celtic supporters you refer to?

As I said to EKbhoy I think that explains part of it.

  21. Hello again all you young rebels.

Just back from our CSC on the Celtic peninsula, half pashed and

won’t be long till full pashed, i can only blame Paddymacoz a ghuy

who has started the Melbourne No1 club and now our fledgling

club on the Celtic peninsula and i ask myself, what gives a man that

type of dedication to take all the different emotional problems that

come with a support like Celtic, obviously it’s different here in Oz

the weather is fantastic, great lifestyle, wear the hoops without fear

of getting your throat cut but when we watched the game on the

Celtic tv today and seen the snow flurries and everybody harped up

i felt really homesick, strange eh ! some guys are saying the crowds

are dwindling, well it looked to me that there was between 30-40000

well i was at Celtic park during our 9 in a row and we had crowds of

18- 25000 but when it came to the crunch and we were under the

cosh with the smsm attacking us then the support responded and

thats when you see the real Celtic supporters the 137.000 record

breaking crowds, the Seville 80.000 and then some, the thousands

that are asked to attend all the supposedly big Epl clubs players

testimonials strange eh! why don’t they ask some of the supposed

big clubs like Real Madrid to do their players testimonials? oh thats

right no runt will turn up mmm.

Where am i going with this? i haven’t a diddgerydoo i,m like the rest

of you it’s in our hearts and always will be.

    ============================================

I’d say the same as for any new signing.

    If he’s fit, PLAY him.

Give him 6 games in a row, 90 minutes, see what you’ve got. THEN cut your cloth accordingly.

Based on the current methodology of pointless 10-minute cameos and bit-parts, Henrik larsson would have been benched, then stiffed, after Easter Road.

A fitting memorial to An Gorta Mór

A campaign by Coiste Cuimhneacháin An Gorta Mór (The Great Hunger Memorial Committee), is calling for designs for a memorial to be submitted for a memorial in Glasgow and offering a £5000 prize for the chosen entry.

The committee is equally unwilling to support any memorial such as the one proposed by Glasgow City Council which attempts to gloss over the truth in order to meet the needs of current political agendas.

They state: “For that reason [we think the memorial], should be organised by the Irish community and those who wish to join us in that endeavour in memory of a great calamity suffered by the people of Ireland.”

I support their efforts which have succeeded in raising £1,874. 00 (37% of target) in a short time.

Please consider contributing to what I believe is a very worthwhile project.

    Cowiebhoy, good day.

Saw enough of Allen in the Hibs team to see that the boy has ability. As Sandman says he cannot be judged properly in the Hoops until he is given some consistent game time. My lad said he was not on the bench yesterday because he was injured in training. If that is the case why do we suffer so many injuries on the training field?

  26. TBJ says Wee Oscar Knox is in heaven with the angels on

Gardyne had already been booked and was due his 2nd yellow just before half time . Also 4th official held up 1 minute injury time – clancy played 3 minutes until we got possession then blew up ( wish he had )

BTW one of my pastimes in the 2nd half was giving the zombie foster dogs abuse when he was in front of me. Ranging from ” your club died 4 years ago ” to ” that pass was slacker than amy McDonald “

  27. eddieinkirkmichael on

Cowiebhoy, CG’s ball distribution is fecking shocking. The guy sitting next to me has been saying the same thing for over a year now, even when he punts it up the park he rarely finds one of our players.

HamiltonTim- I got into an argument leaving game yesterday with a guy wearing a Celtic scarf who said that was the worse game of football he’d ever seen from a Celtic team, he didn’t seem to appreciate my commenting that hopefully the second time he sees Celtic they’ll play better.

Then on bus going home guys not happy saying we were rank, I don’t get it, when did winning not be good enough?

We were never going to lose yesterday, we totally dominated the game, We could easily have scored more yet reading comments it would appear we struggled.

  28. SydneyTim @ 1:43 am

“SFTB. The gloom comes from knowing In 6 months we will be up again against a team from the continent that has a fraction of our income, knowing our team will once again have no experience and be full of Peter Lawell projects ( who he hopes to punt to EPL if of any value )”

Well, I asked the question- was it recent results or Euro hangover? For you , it is Euro hangover. Therefore you should not be wary or worrying about the league fixtures, which was the issue I was focusing on. You want the manager sacked because you feel he wont manage a qualification because 3 of his 4 Euro campaigns over 2 seasons have ended in failure. That is a consistent viewpoint but does not explain the angst at league matches where our form does not encourage such pessimistic feelings.

However, we do have plenty of Euro experience in our squad and management , for what that is worth, certainly a lot more than Molde and Malmo can boast- that is not why we lost. All bar Tierney and Shiavtchenko have played in Europe with us and the latter has Euro experience with his Danish club.

“No ambition to build a team A coach who has no experience apart from a small club in Norway , knowing that we have no players to sell to paper over failures at scouting coaching and Ceo levels

Now watch us go lower and lower and debt rise and rise No Europe. No players. No income”

No experience, compared to what. How much did MON, WGS or Big Jock have before they came- the answer is just a little more or just a little less- we have never brought in a manager with vast Euro club management experience. Dr. Jo probably had most and his campaign was unsuccessful.

I happen to agree with you that we will sink lower (but not lower and lower) in Euro rankings but I do not pin the blame on the peripheral factors. When clubs like Southampton and even top Championship clubs, and now Chinese and Ukrainian and impoverished Greek clubs can outbid and outpay us (because we have lost out on transfer targets to some of those places) then I can take satisfaction in blaming PL and DD for not being sugar daddies to my ambition or I can look at the realities that VVD and VW and FF wanted to go to Southampton, a club that was recently near bankrupt (by Flash Harry’s speculating transfer policies), the best we can do is get good money for them and try and buy players that can make the same journey as they did. The alternative is to keep unhappy players (good luck with that) and lose out on the money. Or we try and replace the quality of these 3 with players who are already equally as good. Again, good luck with that, because why would players who are equally as good, not fancy going to Southampton (or other mid and lower English clubs too)?

We are in an inevitable position because of TV money, the Bosman ruling, and CL hegemony clubs wanting to freeze the old traditional big clubs from small countries out in favour of small clubs from big countries.

“But well done Peter on your bonus”

There, we find common ground. Our Board, in common with most Boards, are grossly over-rewarded for the value they produce. The KPI’s are opaque and we do not know and, more importantly, cannot see why they are rewarding themselves so well. I will join you in a campaign for that to change, if we can manage it. But, I won’t feel that I have made Celtic more competitive if I shave 500k to 1m off our executive budget. That’s the price of a Carlton Cole punt for a short period. Having achieved the worthy aim of cutting exec bonus, we are still faced with the economic reality of where our club is in the modern food chain.

    “It stinks”

Some of it is giving off a bad smell but we have too many of our own obsessed in sniffing the smell without being able to deal with it. I don’t think the team deserves our turned up noses- they are competitive hurting players, for the most part, who want to do as well for themselves and our (their) club. They deserve our support in doing so
