5 point lead gave false comfort

247

A two-goal win for Hearts on Saturday lunchtime would be enough to move them into second in the table.  It would be reassuring to have an early opportunity to restore our five-point lead at the top of the table.  Another possibility is that Newco win at Tynecastle to go top, for a few hours at least.

Irrespective of how well our season has started, defeat in Paisley last time out suggests that five-point lead gave us some false comfort.  If they get through Saturday intact, Newco have the comfort of knowing that within the first seven games, they have already played away against four of the other five clubs in the top half of the table.  They have significantly fewer challenging periods ahead.

We were in a far worse situation this time last year, when we comforted ourselves with the knowledge that we had almost certainly come through our most difficult period.  With many eyes on the Champions League game on Wednesday, we first need to get the job done against Motherwell.

I would be absolutely delighted if Labour won the next general election and kicked the tory scum into touch, with neither Labour nor Tory winning a single Scottish seat. I’d even be happy if Labour held on to their solitary seat.

Tell scotland they will back a vote for scottish independence and an alliance with snp.

both parties ignoring the obvious route to the ideal outcome.

Good Evening folks, its been a while

Sadly my wee Mum passed away today after a tough number of years with extreme COPD. She was down to 5 stone. Skin and bones! It was her 78th birthday last week and we went down on Sunday with the kids for a birthday tea, and you could tell she was not good and was admitted to hospital later that day. She was discharged on Monday morning after tests, and then re-admitted on Wednesday morning. After 14 hours in A&E yesterday, she finally got a ward bed last night, but rapidly went downhill this morning and passed away around 12pm today. My thanks go out to the hospital staff for their kindness and hard work and to her carers over the last 2 years.

To my Mum, God Bless and I love you ( although I never said it much!) You are at peace now after a couple of years of torture and pain and little quality of life. As Dena29 said today she was the glue to our family. A stubbornly strong lady so proud of her family; who did amazingly well to survive the last 2 years, but one that will leave a mark on us all. She will live on in our memory and everything we do.

My heart goes out to my Dad, Letterkenny Bhoy who lurks on here, who lost his wife and partner of over 50 years. Their anniversary was week after next; and also to my kids who took it tough today, but have gone down to see their Papa tonight. Thank you Karen for being at my side and being our rock.

Rest in Peace, Eileen Martin. We will do you proud.

    Marc

I was saddened to hear of your news this afternoon.

I never did meet your Mum but I have known you for a number of years. I am as proud to call you my friend as I know how proud your Mum was and continues to be proud of her Son, in what he has achieved in life, especially what he has done for others. Your Mum was quite simply a good woman. Your Dad is also quite simply a good man.

Your Dad, yourself and the family have lost their best Pal, Mother and Grandmother.

Nothing anything I or anyone else will say just now will console you all just now.

Eileen’s suffering is over now, her time on earth with you all is over, she’s in a better place now. However, your time with her is not over, she is waiting for you all when your time comes on earth to join her in that better place.

    Until we meet again…

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!
