A two-goal win for Hearts on Saturday lunchtime would be enough to move them into second in the table. It would be reassuring to have an early opportunity to restore our five-point lead at the top of the table. Another possibility is that Newco win at Tynecastle to go top, for a few hours at least.
Irrespective of how well our season has started, defeat in Paisley last time out suggests that five-point lead gave us some false comfort. If they get through Saturday intact, Newco have the comfort of knowing that within the first seven games, they have already played away against four of the other five clubs in the top half of the table. They have significantly fewer challenging periods ahead.
We were in a far worse situation this time last year, when we comforted ourselves with the knowledge that we had almost certainly come through our most difficult period. With many eyes on the Champions League game on Wednesday, we first need to get the job done against Motherwell.

“Baby boomers / 63-65 in Glesga for some odd reason.– it is P/head not CP.
CP is a late 80’s Yuppy invention when someone read the address in full.
I blame the Centenary Season for all the CP nonsense.
P/head it is.”
No, it’s not
You and anyone else can have an opinion on what the name of the ground is, but, the owners have stated that it is named, Celtic Park, end of.

CELTICROLLERCOASTER @ 8:33 PM
My sincere condolences.

“Does the old saying of ‘one swallow does not a summer make’ apply to Porteous’ performance for Scotland the other night.”
Most definitely, por cierto
Marc, just reading back from my sick bed. My deepest condolences. RIP Eileen (a very common name among our clan!)

Just finished breakfast at D’Jaconellis, Firhill. Lovely. I’ll probably roll down Garscube Road to Arnold Clark. 😂

End of nothing — the ground is called what the support call it.
The full legal address has been CP for quite some time.
However the support / the EC winning support called it P/head.
Uber rationalists — price of everything / value of nothing like yourself — and late 80’s Yuppies can can it what you / they like but its true / historical name to me will always be P/head.
I fear that CP was the first stirring of the identity politics tremor that now terrorises the world / or it was the yuppie take on the Centenary Season.
Double end off with sprinkles on top.

Couldn’t agree more .
I was born in 1950 and have called it Parkhead since childhood . Reason? My father before me and his father before him called it Parkhead , as did all of my uncles cousins and pals .
Ian Bankier can call it what he likes .
‘I took a trip to Parkhead,
To the dear old Paradise,
And as the players came out,
Sure the tears fell from my eyes.’
80 / 20 rule …
80% = P/head.
20% = Paradise.
The reason behind “Paradise” was open to interpretation back in the day.
Heard quite a few versions before I came across the old press quote from 1892’ish.
CP is just lazy identity politics.
Parkers is the first bit of class humour from the young team in quite a while.
Good morning. I am doing a Sober October to raise money for St Margaret’s. If you fancy contributing, see here:

Sincere condolences to you, your dad, and all the family. May your mother’s soul rest in peace, eternally.
I lost my own mother last year, aged 87 and with failing health. I console myself in the knowledge that she is at peace now.
The treasured memories that she left in me will never fade, and for that I am eternally grateful.
Eileen – RIP 🙏
Supporters can call places what they like it doesn’t change the name.
How many of us were at St.Mirren Park to win the league?
TML,@ 10.37,
:-))))
Now if we rebuilt the Main Stand then I might even start to use “Parkers”.
All we would need would be a butlers entrance to go with it …
Although how would you explain that to Gerard?
TOM MCLAUGHLIN on 30TH SEPTEMBER 2022 10:37 AM
:-))))
Pat Gaffney and his Irishmen built a football ground called Celtic Park on Dalmarnock Street and Janefield Road in the Parkhead district of Glasgow. Springtime 1888.
So sure, many generations went to Parkhead, by foot, tram , brake club, train and bus,
but Celtic Football Club have always played at a Celtic Park.

Re Celtic Park/Paradise.
I thought I read somewhere that the Media in Scotland encouraged the calling of the ground `Parkhead` as it created even more of a disparity between the grand sounding` Ibrox Stadium` and the impersonal `Parkhead`.
PS
Just because previous generations called it `Parkheid` doesn`t mean it is right. Previous generations lived in much worse conditions than do we. Should we copy them in that as well?
Stx2 @ 10.57
Thank you — made my point better than I could.
You mention CP — but which one are you talking about — Old vs New?
There have been multiple CP’s but only one P/head.
P/head it is then.
Just looking in hoping to catch Joe, but thank you, Tom, for making me smile.

World class — so it is.
Wee Fergus liked to call it,New Celtic Park….

I see you were on at 8.59 Joe. I hope we can arrange something for next week. Is there any way in which Paul67 can send you my email address?

Clearly, there are official names and supporters names of affection for their club’s stadium.
GDP figures — revisions / updates — shows how bad things are in the UK at the moment.
BoJo — all about timing / left the stage when the bad news comes in.
His clownish boosterism is the issue — shout / wave a flag / all great.

CP — third on the list.
Sounds about right.
Cue GLENDALYSTONSILS?
dearie me,
here is the evidence, what the owners called it,
aye, but thats not what i call it.
ok then.

Quiet Man,
Did you see Ange comments ?.
As I said, misquoted, deliberately,or ,taken out of context deliberately?.
Only Ange knows.

Half man / half poultry @ 11.30
I fear you have been out of step throughout your adult life if you called P/head CP back in day — 60’s / 70’s / 80’s — when you graced Glesga with your presence.
Then you have the very sloppy analysis — when will you change your name to “Republic of Turkiye Bhoy”?
Funny how you go with the vernacular for your location name but get all precise when it comes to the stadium.
Some would call it double standards.
Others would call it pure stinking hypocrisy.
Your call …
