  1. Big Georges Fan Club - Hail, Hail, Wee Oscar on

Perhaps Ange left them on to give them a taste of that perhaps he didn’t want to create any sense of panic by reacting to obviously to the change of momentum, perhaps he wanted to let the players ‘work it out’ as I’m sure I’ve heard him say before.

    ====================

Me and the wee man were saying something similar. Leaving them on to be tested, and to come through the test. Will do them good in the long run.

  2. No disrespect to Raith Rovers (I know, i know) or indeed Bodo but another ‘mini break’ is upon us at a great time. Psychologically and physically. We have a good enough squad now to put out a significantly changed team and switch things at half time.

Aff to my bed. Goodnight friends in Celtic, zombie onlookers and media types trying to set an agenda (must do better BTW- it isn’t working)

    Up the Celts

  3. almost all the teams we come up against in the spl hardly go over the half way line and just sit back and defend so it should be a walk in the park for defenders who are not under any pressure from the opposition other than passing forward to more creative players or sideways or backwards.

  4. Big George’s FC – just saw your post after my ‘last post (and chorus)’. Big Ange knows what he’s doing and has the courage to do it. I was calling for subs at 60 minutes and then 70 but there has to be a reason he didn’t act earlier. Our thinking is as plausible as any I reckon!

THE LONG WAIT IS OVER on 9TH FEBRUARY 2022 9:50 PM

Worth also pointing out that the call – offside or foul – that cancelled Jotas second – our third before half time was a terrible decision.

    =============

Great point – the Reds TV guys were caught between saying offside and foul. Saw it wisn’y offside and reverted to “Yes, clear push”.

Apparently Jota – a yard in front of his marker and focussed on bearing down on goal – pushed the defender backwards – nonsense.

    Clear goal – terrible decision.

That said – I never had a feeling of total refereeing bias against us. Some decisions they would have moaned about, some we would have. Nothing obvious apart from the scissors tackle on Abada – clear red card every day of the week – again!!

  6. I would have taken a draw at 2-2, but it looks like we’ve got a group of players with bigger hearts than me

  7. If we changed it sooner.

If we didnae have cheating bassa referees.

If We didnae have a slightly off game tonight.

    If, if, if.

If my grannie had haw maws she did be ma Granda.

We won at a difficult place, another 3 points.

Move on. We are on the march.

  9. Strange that Ange says Julien is fit and ready to play yet not even have him in the bench for last two games. I guess we’ll find out against Raith. If he doesn’t make that game I fear we have seen the last of him.

  10. Firstly a good 3 Points,But Ange needs to start looking at his tactics, this good first half along with a shakey second half needs to stop we will get away with it for so long if it comes to the crunch off winning the league then I’d bet we will be in trouble, his second half could be fine if you have the personal to deal with it ,but what I seen to night some in that defence are not up to it,so in my estimate we got lucky coming away with 3 Points.

  11. Made hard work of that 🤔

My opinion, there is times when we just need to clear the lines along the back line, particularly the full backs, instead of trying to retain possession and pulling the opposition on top of us

  12. As normal sly refereeing turns a dominant performance into a nerve wrecking finale. It happens so many times to be now expected. But, let’s blame Ange

Remember the season of honest mistakes. BTM was ran out of town because of the result of those honest mistakes. With a lot of fans shooing him out, making him the fall guy completely forgetting Dallas and Co.

The difference this year is that Ange has better players than Big Tony, players who haven’t had every bit of belief in fairness knocked out of them. Players who believe they are playing for the best team in the league no matter what the refs throw at them.

Somebody with authority at Celtic needs to sort these cheating feckers out. I’m sick to death of honest mistakes

  13. Players are not machines, there will be off days but when you win away on an off day, then that can’t be bad.

Thought Ange should have made changes earlier but he is the Boss and has done brilliantly so far,

in the end his team got the win tonight and that is all that matters.

  14. PS, we are still being refereed very differently to others

Master Bates was a red card on Abada

Or it would have been if committed by a Celtic player

  15. Celtic play as many outwith the country say a pub league, in many ways we do, but and always the but, it’s as hard as it gets, especially when your players are not refereed to the same rules as the rest of the teams, in fact they are treated as second class citizens.

The players at our club are only there because that is their level, there are so many that expect way too much from them, if they were better they would be playing for teams with money to burn, they are not, they are at us, so FFS give them a break.

We are building, Ange took over a disaster and he has got us to a point where not a single one of us would have expected when he was appointed, and I would also wager that not a single poster on here would even have heard of him, he also deserves a break.

Week in week out we are up against 14 from the get go, we are doing Ok in my eyes, it’s about time many on here and elsewhere opened their’s.

  16. the long wait is over on

That was the single worst referring decision I’ve ever seen – any league , anywhere.

    And guess what ?

It went against us and for rangers.

For every decision that goes marginally for us or against our opponents rangers get , I’d guess, 5 at least.

That improves the odds in their favour and that’s all that’s needed in marginal games and seasons.

  17. Instead of calling out Collum the cheat, we get people on here saying our winning goal

should not have stood .A load of shite. Call themselves supporters

    Good lord

  18. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Agree on the “tackle” on Abada – a scissor tackle FROM BEHIND.

They’ll pour over the “offside” goal, though.

  19. Why is it always the fault of the referees when in fact our second half performance was down to a defence who can’t defend when teams start to come at us ,there 2 goals were right up there watching a junior team ,no stop blaming everybody and anyone for a poor second half performance, also Ange needs to do away with this a Tale of 2halfs .

  20. THE EXILED TIM on 9TH FEBRUARY 2022 10:42 PM

We are building, Ange took over a disaster and he has got us to a point where not a single one of us would have expected when he was appointed, and I would also wager that not a single poster on here would even have heard of him, he also deserves a break.

    ———-

I’d be the exception to that claim TET. I suggested AP on here about 6 months before we even started our foolhardy courtship of Mr Howe having seen his work in Australia nationally and A-League. Only concern was his prickliness w meeja, but he has handled them with ‘a plum’. He deserves a big break alright – and Celtic is his big break and I expect us to win one other accolade this year at least.

    Glad for the 3points HH

  21. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

I don’t see the huns dropping any points until next derby. Ange is right, we need to be near perfect to win this thing. The bhoys have more or less been since September, which is incredible. Very difficult to maintain, but won tonight playing poorly. A goid sign.

Also good is that we have two fewer away games left than the huns.

  22. Peter Latchford, a few weeks back plenty on here said the same thing, they were wrong,

If we have an off day so can they.

Of the 12remaining games they have 7 aways,

Next game away to Dundee United is no gimme.

  23. ST TAMS on 9TH FEBRUARY 2022 10:19 PM

Ange should have noticed early into second half that we needed changes.

We got away with it. But he once again waited too late.

Keep leaving it too late Ange

  24. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

    Poor Sheep.

Their team’s on the slide and Jimmy Krankie’s up for pumping the evil companies who employ many of them.

    “It’s Scotland’s oil”.

    Anyone remember that one?😂😂

    Back to crofting for them.

  25. Sportscene “experts” point out that Scott brown holds starfelt off to allow Ramirez a shot at goal for Aberdeen’s first goal

However abada blocked bates when jota scored our third,so goal should not have stood

What’s the difference between holding off and blocking??

  26. A massive win. We can focus on the two cup competitions for a bit now. The win tonight was all that mattered. Well done, Celtic. 12 to go.

  27. Aberdeen away, Motherwell away Huns at home Dundee United home, Hibs at home.

A hard run of games, you’d expect to drop points in one of those at least.

But Starfelt and set-pieces, and substitutes

  28. BELMONTBRIAN on 9TH FEBRUARY 2022 11:01 PM

    Evening all.

Cracking result this evening, hopefully for me, come May it will become one of these results we think . that was pivotal

The commentator on Aberdeen TV was talking about how pivotal the victory earlier in the season. at Pittodrie, he even called it turning point. my son said he knew far too much about us but to be a fan. it did make think he might be a lurker or a poster on CQN.
