Appetites wetted, consequence of intimidation

608

For some, short holidays are over. Batteries recharged, appetites wetted. The international break is not the period of worldwide travel and mockery it is for others. If you think you are champing at the bit to get to Celtic Park on Saturday, Scott Brown and Kolo Toure could probably sprint there from Lennoxtown right now.

For others it will be a chance to put disappointments behind them. A few (well, maybe just Moussa) will return having achieved new heights for their country. As ever, Tom Rogic will pitch with jetlag having played in two continents in the last six days.

You know they will all want to see and impress Brendan. This is the way of it at Lennoxtown right now. They are bursting a gut at training to get into the team. Be alarmed, Motherwell.

You know when your PR is on nationwide TV, intemperate and pointy, that you are in special hands. Asking the same question four different ways lacks courtesy (and a whole lot more), but PR can’t let the journo leave knowing he’s got what he wanted from the encounter. I’m no PR expert, but you know when you see someone mis-control a proverbial back pass.

Still angry at that newspaper’s attack on Celtic yesterday. I didn’t buy it, so didn’t realise at the time they printed Peter Lawwell’s home address. You know what you are doing when you publish someone’s home address.  It rarely happens because the consequences are so uncontrollable.

It’s one of the most insidious acts legally possible by a newspaper. It has an immediate consequence of intimidation for the family – that’s a given when you make the decision to print something several hundred thousand times.  Utterly deplorable.  We are back in the era where attacks were incited on Neil Lennon.

Apologies for issues accessing the blog recently.  I’m on the case.

I really can’t see the rent for hampden being paid

Did the SFA ever get compensation for Walter Smith?

    ………………………………………………

    I think you’re right.

Funnily enough I do believe that cheque is still pending.

Unlike the huge fine Celtic received from the SFA when TB left Kilmarnock to become Celtic Manager.

Bhoys…this DR stooshie, is just that.

The Huns know they can do what they like in Scodlandio, nobody including PL, will say anything.

They are all too terrified of the Hun(obviously).

The Hun does what he likes….So, .what are the PLC going to do about it?

    Thats right…absolutely nothing.

I mean i cant see any other explanation why you would allow yourself to be treated like that by the DR.

    It must be fear.

I dont know Peter….but he does not deserve that.

His lawyer should be very angry.

But this is what happens when you dont challenge the bent huns…they think they can do anything they want.

I doubt anything will be done.

  10. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

As we all know, if you dont stick up for yourself against huns in this country, they will bully you.

Thats what they are all about.

I never minded taking a few shots, as long as we got the better of them….which we usually did:)

Fight back…or they will make your life a misery.

    FIGHT THE POWER

PL has a family, and there are some very dangerous people out there, so I doubt anything Celtic will be done, they’re drowning, don’t throw them a life belt, PL is not a stupid man, and is very street also, best left alone, and don’t fuel the fire, IMO.

  12. TGM

I’d say every Tim gives as good as he gets when it’s against thems, but PL is a different kettle of fish here, he leads by example, carefully and casual, what I would expect from a leader, a cool calm head and no knee jerk reaction, it’s the only way to play the game here, start causing it? Then you’ve lost, and played into they’re hands, keep yer powder dry, as they’re not in a position to a thing, and they know it.

I you or i tried a stroke like that…we would be in jail now.

You cannot allow these kind of people to act as a law unto themselves.

    Its not on.

The DR and those responsible should be in court.

You dont ignore these things, if you do, it will only get worse.

If no action is taken, they will think its open season on Celtic, and anything is allowed.

That is a situation that must be confront by the law.

Ignoring it, wont make it go away.

  14. My friends in Celtic,

Oh how we laughed at James Trainer’s petulant behaviour that embarrassed himself and demeaned the loaf. For Celtic supporters it was funny and just typified their mindset.

This is the same James Trainer that effectively banned BBC journalists from Greyskull. IMO bans are infantile, self defeating and are very often counter productive.

I believe in freedom of speech, even when I don’t like it or agree with it. Freedom of speech on here and freedom of speech for the media providing it meets acceptable laws or codes.

There are numerous ways of hitting back, if our club has the will to do so. We also have some of the most stringent defamation laws, so what are we waiting for.

As a club we have kept our powder dry for far too long. Maybe it’s solidified now.

  15. I know a guy who works for BBC Online. He was told me that yesterday’s Record story is “a classic Level 5 squirrel story to deflect from bad news to come”.

It was only a couple of days ago a man with a young family and his wife pregnant at this time had to close his blog down due to threats to him and his young family, this guy even informed our state police on several occasions but PC blog couldent help him, unfortunately that’s what we’re up against, very ver, dangerous people, so don’t be kidding yourself nothing will happen, I’ve had a few altercations myself where I live from people who know me and what’s on my FB , my FB is far from being Celtic anorexic, but it’s my FB , and I tell them if the don’t like it tough, that’s the way it goes, and I’m sure more on here get that too, but PL has to step back that’s a given IMO.

  18. Imagine after all that’s happened the only way to keep TRFC Ltd afloat was to make Mike Ashley the defacto owner.

That’s completely made up in my own head but it’d be funny. Sort of.

  19. There’s always requests to stop posting links to the Daily Record but none asking the same of links to the Daily Mail.Is rANGERs hunnery worse than Hitler hunnery?

Speaking of Hitler,he liked censorship and I don’t think he was a left wing student.
