Athletics doing the right thing

610

Celtic were near their silky smooth best against Hearts on Saturday. It looked like their fifth competitive game of the season, and Progres(s) on what we’ve seen in Europe. We now have two games in Glasgow – Kilmarnock on Tuesday and Partick Thistle on Friday, before Astana’s visit on 16 August.

Brendan Rodgers job will be to ensure the players’ fitness is near peak by then. The tiredness, which was apparent late in the game against Hearts, should be replaced by energy in the tank.

It must have been fingers in the ears time in various places across Scotland, as the World Athletics Championships dealt with the consequences of handing out prizes to those who didn’t compete within the rules years ago, while pondering what to do with those who were caught cheating, but remain at the top of their sport.

Athletics is trying desperately to move on. Jessica Ennis-Hill’s gold medal, awarded six years late, is a necessary step in the right direction. It’s not the same as winning on the track, not by a long shot (put), but athletes know their sport is intent on doing the right thing, no matter how long it takes.

  1. Another comment from Auldheid from earlier that might be worth considering before criticising:

” … to give you a much better understanding what we are all up against and why its taken 5 years, for you clearly have no idea.”

As that applies to ALL of us who do not have sufficient information, I would have hoped that posters would express their views accordingly. Opinion on a Blog is one thing; dogmatic assertion another altogether.

Excellent post, and correctamundo re new CLUB, not NewCo. Hail Hail to you Sir, from a beautifully sunny Dundee this morning.

    Morning

Excellent post… I remember reading about a Masterton Offshore Company called Charlotte 18 – not to be confused with Sir David Murray’s Charlotte Ventures – that controlled DAFC.

Was any light shed on this Company?

    Hail Hail

  4. In late April 2003 Celtic went to Ibrox and won 2-1. The next week, Rangers travelled to Dundee where they awarded 3 (THREE) penalties and snatched a 2-2 draw – they were just awarded penalties until they scored one…

They were clearly desperate for a league win that season.

  5. If the evidence exists it might be advisable to go first to a journalist outside of Scotland and to consult a lawyer, also from outside of Scotland.

  6. Morning all….

haven’t been on CQN for a long time. Just popped in to say a big thanks to the denizens of CQN who were such good company at the Blane Valley post game on Saturday.

Dropped by to see an old friend that I hadn’t seen in too many years….didn’t realize I was crashing an episode of ‘Still game’…..:)

Sorry I couldn’t stay longer. I really enjoyed the company.

    Cheers,

No matter what happens, they still have masonic referees to influence games.

This ‘tradition’ is another major issue that needs to be challenged. The very idea that members of a secret society should be allowed to referee professional football is barking mad, and very sinister.

Dirty referees should not be tolerated.

Bobby Madden, seriously, i ask you, why is this man allowed anywhere near football.

It does not need a genius to uncover sevco’s incredible penalty statistics, not to mention the red cards issued to teams opposing sevco.

Its all there in black and white.

    Impossible stats.

Yes, but it’s the only thing they have left and it still won’t be enough….

  11. I’m retiring next year. Have kept my ticket going for that reason.

Noo…with this this corruption and cheating, will there be any football to watch when I get back home?

Can’t we all just turn a blind eye and move on?

What’s a wee bit of financial doping between friends?

    Corrupt refereeing?

Mal administration of the game by the governing bodies?

Can’t you just pay your money and shut up?

If there’s no football how will I spend my retirement days?

    Think on…..

Remember when the masonic referees went on strike, because they were caught out.

And of course, in the whole of Scotland, its only certain types of referee who make the ‘grade’.

Imo, when you have a wealth of historical data, and its examined properly, usually its easier to arrive at a conclusion.

Members of a secret society masquerading as referees.

Only in Scotland would a Sevco supporter be allowed to referee a game against Celtic. That is totally outrageous, and they get away with it…..so far:)

    Yes, Interesting…

Wonder if Masterton’s Bankruptcy put any light on this.

Or has it all been conveniently swept under the Carpet.

Amazing, after all we now know of what was going down in 2002/3 and we had a huge European Season and the still managed to Win the league by only one goal.

  16. There are very few facts surrounding the huns cheating down the years, even less hard facts with 100% irefutable proof.

One we do know of, thanks to the Supreme Court, is they stole money from the tax man and they didn’t tell the sfa that they issued side letters contraveining sfa rules, the small tax case is another known fact, very little in the grand scheme of things.

There are numerous rumours and refutable facts, like what Chris Sutton said and got fined for, that Dunfermline laid down to the huns that day, and unless there is anyone willing to tell the truth, it will just join the list of refutable facts, sad to say.

I am amazed that there are still supporters out there who actually think they will get what’s coming to them.

  17. Rangers will try to use the £1million fee they received for striker Martyn Waghorn in order to sign Aberdeen’s Kenny McLean and Hearts winger Jamie Walker. The pair have been on Pedro Caixinha’s radar throughout the summer and the Portuguese head coach will look to test the resolve of both clubs with fresh bids. (Scottish Sun)

So,1,000,000 quid for Waggers. As if that were not ridiculous enough,1,00,000,is not 1 million.C,mon,we know you are useless with the written word, but basic numerical skills?.We are then informed that this will now be enough to buy Mc Lean, and Walker.I knew there was a problem last week, when the same guy reported that PSG had offered Barca,198 pounds for Neymar.

If you can allow Sevco supporters to referee games against Celtic, then you can do anything.

It wouldnt surprise me in the slightest, if the SFA said, ‘So What’. That seems the most probable response.

They just dont care, they will cheat Celtic, and thats an end to it.

In essence its, ‘F*** off, we will always cheat Celtic, suck it up’

    As usual, nothing will happen.

The Asterisk Years dealt with the Minty Masterton stuff, ignored as usual as this will be.

IF and it’s a very big IF, CQN or anyone else had 100% proof that match fixing or anything else had gone on, they wouldn’t be handing over their evidence to those who helped to facilitate the crimes FFS.

As I said, someone who was involved needs to stick their head above the parapit, else it will be ignored.

Every game the huns play is match fixing due to the referees.

  21. Back to actual football…briefly…I would start Tom Rogic and Eboue Kouassi tonight.

Give Griff first 45 mins then wrap in cotton wool.

Armstrong? Don’t really mind if he plays or not.

The only real question I am stuck on is whether to give Bitton and Simunovic more time to establish a partnership, or give Ajer more experience and game time.

  22. Can just see BBC chasing Wiggy for a quote

Im always amused that good decent Celtic supporters find it difficult to believe that the peepul dont understand the concept of ‘honesty’.

    They dont.

Why you would allow your enemy to ‘scrutinise’ anything, never mind evidence, is beyond me. Thats only my opinion of course, before they all start telling me im ‘daft’, or i ‘dont understand’:)

I’d rest Griffiths tonight, wouldn’t even have him on the bench. Have him on bench on Friday too and give him last 25 mins.

Next week is too important and the experiments with others performing the striker role have not been promising.

  27. Just thinking back to when I was a kid and went to see all the James Bond films.Sean Connery.I loved them.I was always baffled though, that when his arch enemy, the guy who had some dastardly plan for world domination, had captured him near the end,and had him at gunpoint,he decided on some cunning plan to kill him.He would hoist Bond up by the ankles, over a tank of Sharks, and tell him”Ah,Mr Bond, the chains will drop a foot every 10 minutes, for the next hour, until you are submerged into the Sharks”They would then exit and leave Bond an hour to make good his escape.I remember, even then thinking,as Bond made his escape”Why did he not just shoot him when he had the chance”.Why would you give someone as devious as Bond a chance to escape.Always spoiled the Movie somewhat for me.
