Athletics doing the right thing

610

Celtic were near their silky smooth best against Hearts on Saturday. It looked like their fifth competitive game of the season, and Progres(s) on what we’ve seen in Europe. We now have two games in Glasgow – Kilmarnock on Tuesday and Partick Thistle on Friday, before Astana’s visit on 16 August.

Brendan Rodgers job will be to ensure the players’ fitness is near peak by then. The tiredness, which was apparent late in the game against Hearts, should be replaced by energy in the tank.

It must have been fingers in the ears time in various places across Scotland, as the World Athletics Championships dealt with the consequences of handing out prizes to those who didn’t compete within the rules years ago, while pondering what to do with those who were caught cheating, but remain at the top of their sport.

Athletics is trying desperately to move on. Jessica Ennis-Hill’s gold medal, awarded six years late, is a necessary step in the right direction. It’s not the same as winning on the track, not by a long shot (put), but athletes know their sport is intent on doing the right thing, no matter how long it takes.

I don`t know the real reason. When you posted that statement, I didn`t speak up as clearly (so I thought) I was the only one who didn`t know. Didn`t want to look like a daftie by asking. ;>)

  2. There is at least one Dunfermline player that would tell you the truth about their instructions that day……

We’re all going to Majorca ( ??? memory ) don’t get injured or you can’t go

    Let’s play a 2-3-5 ( half time )

There’s more stuff that’s explosive about after the game, on the plane and in Majorca.

Their hotel was where Real Madrid and Barca are based when in town.

They all got pocket money on arrival.

At this stage, I’ll just say that this was a taxi-driver that told me all this.

Big Chris Sutton was right and he didn’t even know a quarter of it….

    The CQN syndrome.

    Celtic have been cheated .

    I blame Celtic.

And anyone who refuses to climb on board with that opinion .

If you can you keep your head when all around…………….

………………….and blaming it on you ……………

    Believe me .

    Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

  4. macjay1,

I think things are looking good on so many fronts when it comes to Celtic.

Celtic getting a young, exciting English player from arguably, the richest club in England, is absolutely Massive.

He is a Brave player in so many ways too. ;)))

    Paddy ?

The whole setup at Celtic Park has been transformed.

The arrival of Brendan was the lynchpin.

Our financial situation appears now much healthier than before.

    Looking good is right.

MUST get over the Astana hurdle.

    Won`t be easy.

  6. macjay1,

Those Astana dudes were jumping with elbows out all the Time last Season. Not a nice team to play against. The Bhoys are right on it howevaaaah. Pass and Move excellence – what a difference one week makes. The Linfield Friday thing was outrageous. Annoyed about that. Obstacles – Solutions. BR is Top Drawer.

I can see Liverpool losing against the Hoff, elevating Celtic to 3rd seeds. ;))

Who else is coming in? :)))

Under the Celtic Hood is a lot of Powa. :D

  7. Olivier looked to me to be a high skilled centre mid.

From what I have seen so far, his weights in the passes on the deck are spot on, I mean perfecto.

    ===========================

It was a bit of a running joke on CQN back in 2012. Every time someone said TRFC were ineligible for the CL because they did not have three years accounts I would correct saying nope its 3 year membership of the SFA that is needed and theirs only began in Aug 2012.

No matter how often I corrected the same misconception popped up like a weed.

My point is that it is very difficult to get a fact across when its swimming against so many different opinions that become fact from repetition.

I remember at the final whistle in the stadium in Seville I tried to console the 77 year old wise man in the seat next to me. He was very upset and I said to him that we would win the league at Rugby Park on Sunday. His reply haunts me still. “Naw son, the masonic mob have fixed it for the huns.”

  10. The Green Man

Cheers. This isn’t my baby but I do sympathise with the guys trying to work out what the right thing to do is.

What I do know is that until and unless you have all your facts right, treat nothing as a fact. Always leave room for doubt even if it takes 5 years.

That doubt went in July on the UEFA Licence and LNS and the SFA/SPFL response only reinforces the case.

I just hope the case in question does not need reinforcing.

What I know of a JR came from a post by Dexter Bampot made here last week.

From that came the failure to give factors due weight approach to accompany the status if ebt point.

I reckon if a JR says proper terms of reference and process were not applied when all the evidence to so was known, that is cause to have a proper enquiry.

It can include both approaches I imagine.
