Celtic were near their silky smooth best against Hearts on Saturday. It looked like their fifth competitive game of the season, and Progres(s) on what we’ve seen in Europe. We now have two games in Glasgow – Kilmarnock on Tuesday and Partick Thistle on Friday, before Astana’s visit on 16 August.
Brendan Rodgers job will be to ensure the players’ fitness is near peak by then. The tiredness, which was apparent late in the game against Hearts, should be replaced by energy in the tank.
It must have been fingers in the ears time in various places across Scotland, as the World Athletics Championships dealt with the consequences of handing out prizes to those who didn’t compete within the rules years ago, while pondering what to do with those who were caught cheating, but remain at the top of their sport.
Athletics is trying desperately to move on. Jessica Ennis-Hill’s gold medal, awarded six years late, is a necessary step in the right direction. It’s not the same as winning on the track, not by a long shot (put), but athletes know their sport is intent on doing the right thing, no matter how long it takes.

Gene I presume your question about countersigning referred to Joe’s letter to Regan. If you know anything about Joe you will know he is a totally Celtic mhan. He will have informed PL of his letter ..Of that I am sure.
Joe and others have been doing a great deal of work behind the scenes and deserves our support.

Difficult choice for Paddy. Sunshine on the French Riviera with gorgeous burdz thrown in or rainy Glasgow. I know what i’d choose.
Ooh la la csc.
Plenty gorgeous burdz in Glasgow – just ask Sipsini or Delaney’s Donkey…. :-)

Wish all you Smarties coming up with the chocolate puns would stop :)
Some of these sweetie puns are absolutely Haribo.
Do boycotts work?
It is possible if targeted. To boycott all SFA associates is unworkable and strikes of tokenism.
For a boycott to work we must all be patrons in the first place. Do we all drive Vauxhall cars, eat Mars bars, bet at William hills, get our glasses from specsavers etc, etc, etc.
I cannot boycott away games as I don’t go to them. Only the fans that attend away games can decide on a boycott.
For those fans on here who don’t give a single penny into Celtic then their shouts of boycott are futile as they are not patrons in the first place.
Individual acts are fine, but let’s not think they will make the slightest bit of difference to a multi national company. Let’s not make ourselves look foolish..
In contrast, a boycott of all cup games could be a possibility if it was coordinated correctly and had maximum buy-in from all sections of our support.
Empty stadiums in televised games would be noticed and would send a message. It may not achieve our objectives, but it would be more difficult to dismiss.

Ps : With all our three strips being predominantly green, what if we require to change colour in the event of a clash.
Come on Paddy, you know we love you, so too does Keiran, your buddy

I would have thought Daly would have been better off, griping about the Huns who forced him to drop his best player,by unsettling the player.By “Unsettling”I mean tapping up the player through their friends in the SMSM,and after their work was done, offering Hearts half the asking price.Maybe Mrs Budge is just waiting her time to let those dastardly Huns, have it.
Is she,Aye.
It’s going to be very interesting to see/hear the Hun reaction to Neil Francis this weekend. I’m sure he is going to enjoy himself immensely <;-))
Diddums! Imagine going through life as an attention seeker
TB- Daly on a guilt trip for taking the hun pound, trying to deflect from a 4-1 tanking, which could have been double figures, a meathead trying to hang on to his job.
Imatim- i wonder if the cop who stands at the tunnel at Poundland, will lift anyone for sectarian abuse on Saturday? No me neither
I love Paddy.I said “He was born to play for Celtic”,along with a few others. In saying that, knowing what Paddy knows about Brendan, and what the set up is like at Celtic, what Celtic can offer him ,in terms of coaching, games, trophies, salary, fans adoration, and ,if he wishes leave Celtic after 4 years,go onto bigger things, salary wise,at the grand age of 24,and still chooses to sign for Nice,he is an absolute Trumpet.
Beyond any help.
Would that be the same Mrs Budge that was invited to dine along with David Murray recently?
Nice to see France getting a mention………..at the weekend I bet Toulouse to win and they drew

Very rare for them to show a “Home”game. If you have a Sausage you can sample the delights of the Hun TV commentator.Priceless.
It’s getting very close to D Day re Stuart Armstrong imo.
The longer this goes on the closer he gets to running down his contract and I would be of the mind he would be making sure he stayed injury free if that were to be the case
Hopefully he decides to re-sign and goes on to realise his potential under a Manager who believes in him.
Imatim- i think that’s why Ntcham was brought in, would like him to stay but if he hasn’t signed after Astana games, put him up gor transfer, Burnley very interested…

I really like the boy,but gone on too long.Celtic have to give him an ultimatum.Sign before Astana game,or you are out.Far too many good players chasing his position.Namely Rogic and Ntcham,Mc Gregor.Too much tip toeing around him.Not setting a good precedent for the future.
Turkeybhoy.
I think Ernie will dodge that one.
Who gave Murray his knighthood?
