Billy McNeill and Davie Hay met the press at Celtic Park yesterday, along with Alex Gordon, who authored their time as managers of Celtic. It didn’t disappoint……
Billy was self-effacing as ever. For all purposes, today he is an ordinary Celtic fan, so much so you need to remind yourself that there is nothing in the club game he hasn’t done. Yesterday was about his days as Celtic manager but he made the point that Davie Hay was a profound influence on him as a team-mate.
The take-away thought I had on Davie Hay was about his range of knowledge and experience. He has done so much in the game which still pulses in his veins. Does Scotland still produce men of his calibre? If so, why are we not giving them a platform to flourish?
There is tons of great stuff in the book from both men:

The book’s great, reading the step-by-step accounts of what happened from the managers’ view, you’ll love it. I know I’m biased but it’s the best thing CQN has done, a wee bit of our history set down on record.

I have also met TET…tho we were all very pashed and found him to be of sound mind and body…no like that ACGR who I have also had a drink wae..whose mind and body tends to wander… Mostly in different directions..usually to the bar…

The (9 page at 00.28) thread “Club Statement: R.e Dundee United” on hunmedia “has gone through a severe metamorphosis.
There are five pages of sheer unadulterated hunnish triumphalism that their club has put the boot into DUFC and all fenian bastards and utterly killed the timmy theory that liquidation actually happened.
Then there are a couple of pages where the disbelief that their club changed the statement and have shat it from their timmy masters. This phase also includes references to PL, GCC, the pope and others who are not directly involved. Although, it would be fair to say these couple of pages mostly involve inward hatred and self loathing of themselves. This phase I particularly enjoyed:__).
Then there is a lull……………..where they deflect from the fact their club shat it and they talk about the merits of young players, compensation and bosman type trivia, yada yada etc.
Unfortunately this metamorphosis still has them emerging not as a beautiful butterfly, but as the same knuckle dragging, uneducated heids up their arses follow follower, swallow swallowers that they’ve always been.
In short their metamorphosis was from one ugly bastard into another ugly bastard.
Well done DUFC and Mr T. Maybe some day Celtic can induce a similar reaction if they ever grow a set of balls.
Probably not a good time to mention we name them as rangers in our meeting the new club in the LC semi.

That only applies where you are stopped in isolation, ie you have been pulled over by a police car that has followed you. In that case they need to have a reason to breathalyse you, eg you have been driving erratically, jumped a red light, have a faulty rear light etc.
I am talking about roadside checkpoints where multiple drivers are pulled over. In those circumstances they don’t need a reason to breathalyse you.

Apart from the bizarre ruling of LNS based on Bryson the fact is the SPL lawyers who were given the job of evidence gathering and then writing the terms of reference for the Commission were deceived by Rangers Administrators not providing the evidence at

Had they done so the date of the Commission would have began on 30 August 2000 and the charge would not have been misregistration of players from 2000 but of paying 3 players from 1999 to 2003 through an irregular tax scheme and then misregistration from August 2000.
By not supplying the evidence and Campbell Ogilvie not testifying all he knew about ebts, LNS reached a materially flawed decision.
This is known to the SPL lawyers who washed their hands of the issue and passed it on to SFA who have said nothing and by the SPFL Board all of whom were given copies of the missing material and have failed to refute the charge of deception.
The same material was posted to 13 smsm journalists who so far have asked no questions of anyone.
LNS was not just a twisting of interpretation of the rules, it is a fraud committed against Scottish football in which the SFA and SPFL are now colluding by their silence.

I believe Celtic should have made a statement updating fans and shareholders on the progress with Res 12 (2013). They would not have been punished for it. The fact they never is a concern of mine.
