It wasn’t just the result, which was enormously satisfying, but the manner of Celtic’s performance yesterday was equally gratifying. We passed with speed and precision, creating space between what was often two blocks of five defenders. Hearts were in a sorry state but despite enduring the consequences of being unable to pay their dues, they remain considerably more resourceful than many of the lower league teams which have caused Celtic problems in cup competitions in recent seasons.
We finally got to see what the fuss over Nir Biton was all about. He brought control, time and space to the play. In particular I liked the way he tried to retain possession. Hope we see more of him in the weeks to come.
While most attention was drawn to the striker position following defeat to Milan last week, central midfield, bereft of recent departures, the injured and suspended, was just as under-resourced. The opportunity is there for Biton to grab a place for himself, just as Victor did a couple of years ago.

It’s years since the msm were correct about celtic targets.
BOBBY MURDOCH’S CURLED-UP WINKLEPICKERS ………FC not PLC
If we are looking at Vaughn why not go get Stevie May, better player in my opinion..could be one of those guys that comes to Celtic and just fills the jersey..
Mon The Hippies..
THE HONEST MISTAKE
Very true. I sometimes think they and Neil Lennon are the last to know!
I noticed Tom Daley came out the closet, ehhhhh like we didn’t know, or for that matter care,.
STARRY PLOUGH
If we’re interested in Vaughan,we’d be better signing Maggie May,IMO.
Injury-prone as well as not very good.
Sydney Tim will be having seizures!

I hope he will be back, suitably chastened and raring to go.
My concern would be that he comes back, fires them in,and leaves in 2016 for free(ish) with a parting GIRUY.

interesting article (see his singing instructions to Nancy Sinatra). Although the CD comes in at an eye watering £60 plus
…and as for James Vaughan just what we need.
Another non-scoring ‘striker’.
We would be better off with Vince Vaughan.
At least he’s a funny guy.
HH!!
Micktt…nothing better than to read the various experiences of our brilliant supporters’ travels and stories from all over the world , I hope this continues as well as healthy and respected debate. e.g. I agree with OLDTIM in that I find it really difficult, nay bizarre, that anyone could donate one penny towards that illegal circus that masquerades as a football team whilst Billy Smart and his Chimps at Mt Florida continue to keep them afloat,at any price.

Cadizzy -yeah, like I’m goin’ to fork out £60 for an album by a guy who ‘never liked Gram Parsons’.
FIVE WAY AGREEMENT
Our club ,and every club in the land, should demand copies of this so-called agreement-if they haven’t already done so.If Regan and Doncaster have signed this document without the authority of the clubs-their employers- they should be sacked.

to be fair, it may have been personal differences rather than musical o;-)
OldTim67,
I would slightly disagree with you, if the “game” is at Celtic Park. I would pay for my ticket and leave the seat empty. I have no desire ever again to enter the ground on the south side of the city, unless we are playing another team.
The 5 way secrete agreement only verifies that there are rules for them, and not the others, do you honestly think Celtic or the other clubs don’t know what it’s about? I find that very hard to believe, then again!
Twisty . Happy birthday mate . Hope you have gid yin
Stick around here long enough and you’ ll discover that a 7-0 thrashing of SPL pondlife will generate far fewer posts than a 3-0 defeat [ with add-ons].
And if the Celtic support is anything it is broad and inclusive; so the ‘soup taking, prawn sandwich munching, board supporting conformists’ have as much right to post on here as the rest.
All you’re complaining about is that some people disagree with you; which after all is healthy.
There is a shiny new club available which sets much more stringent limits on how it sees itself; should we be like them?
James Vaughn, is it?
I think I’d rather have Frankie Vaughan.
Although he’s now deid, this should be no bar to his having a glorious future (and past) in Scottish Football.
I mean, a glance at his greatest hits suggests he’d be a natch for the Hoops … or at least with a host of CQNers … e.g.
• “Stay With The Happy People”
• “Cloud Lucky Seven”
• “Do, Do, Do, Do, Do, Do It Again”
• “Too Many Heartaches”
• “Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road”
• “The Green Door”
• “The Garden of Eden”
• “Gotta Have Something in The Bank Frank”
• “Am I Wasting my Time On You”
• “Alley Alley Oh” / “Gonna Be a Good Bhoy Now”
• “Easter Time”
• “If I Had My Way”
• “Paradise”
To name but a few …

Agree in every way, there that was a quick debate. I can see no other way of bringing this agreement to the fore, other than by fan power from several clubs.
But I think we all know how it will pan out..!

Cadizzy @9.46, maybe he didn’t like orange juice.
DBBIA, in which case, he could just rip it up and start again.
Okay, apologies for that one

Morning from… well, Ayrshire.
Day off and pub it is, meeting an old school pal today and looking forward to it. Another former season ticket holder, was just thinking, there were six of us went home and away for years, thought it would go on and on.
Just me now, home games and a few away.. But ma son is my company noo
Ayrshire is Green and White

>>>>>>>>>>
Found myself in the same position, all my mates stopped attending the games, I had a three year sabbatical myself due only to finance, I still made it when I could afford it with my kids.
Returned to buying myself and my son season books this year and now my daughter wants hers back aswel…the joys of being a parent.
I still miss going with my mates, hope my son and daughter are not lurking ;-))
Well not the worst cup draw .. I always prefer a home although we did ok away in the last round.
At least we avoided that new team the media keep talking up.
Typical MSM reporting:
Falkirk’s artificial pitch was damaged by the flare set off after the final whistle of their defeat by Rangers.
And there was also a flare set off within a stand occupied by Celtic fans during their side’s victory over Hearts on Sunday.
Note: no mention of which set of fans threw the flare at Falkirk yet straight stick the boot in to the Celtic fans.
I’m not saying Celtic fans should not be held accountable but equally so should the Sevconians.
Many fans complain that Celtic fans are obsessed with Sevco. Until this blatant bias and cheating is stopped, the Celtic fans & others will forever keep on the backs of MSM, SFA etc…
SPF
That`s an aspect I hadn`t considered. I like it 0:-)
Mick TT
I agree that it is each to his own but I would love it if very few turned up. If word got round that we weren`t going, then I suspect a lot of Sevconians wouldn`t go either…..IF we could get them to realise they were swelling our coffers.
I would dearly love to see the media reaction to such a scenario 0:-)
TonyDonnelly
Much more interesting had it been announced that Tony Donnelly was coming out of the closet!
I hope you had a fine birthday.

previously posted my position on meeting Sevco in the future,if at Celtic Park I would not buy a ticket, re cup games, but would donate half the ticket price to a Celtic Charity,Kano Foundation?,no uptake of tickets at bigotdome and match fees to Charity,
is their a list for us who wont ever pay to watch the tribute act?can I start one.
there seems to be a snobbishness about going for players from the division we are in.starry is right stevie may is a goalscorer.wouldnt cost much.not a big loss if it goes wrong.
Shuggie
I would be on such a list but probably better to wait until/ f it actually happens.

Very true, the details of this controversial agreement should be known to ensure any wrong doing can be tackled.
No doubt a confidentiality clause would be cited for reasons of non disclosure but I suspect the grounds for this agreement could be suspect, without the details it’s hard to challenge.
For instance, when was Rangers SFA membership transferred to Sevco Scotland?
Now Rangers would cease to be a member of the SFA when they were eliminated from the SPL, and so unable to transfer their membership.
Interestingly enough Dundee were invited into the SPL two weeks before the Five way agreement was announced.
Yet their membership wasn’t ratified until two days after the Five way agreement.
That’s one tangled web they want to keep twisted.
Hail Hail
