The resignation of Charles Green from his post as Rangers International chief executive last month was more curious for what it wasn’t – a resignation from the board. Green retained his position as a director of the club. This was always likely to have consequences.
BBC report this morning that club chairman, Malcolm Murray, who media outlets loyal to Green reported innuendo against earlier this year, in what was viewed as an attempt to discredit and ultimately remove him, yesterday lost a vote of confidence at a board meeting.
I am certain the vote of confidence was called by Murray himself after he informed the board, including Charles Green, of how he intends to deal with the important matters surrounding the club at this time. In particular, what he plans to do with information received from Pinsent Masons and forensic accountants from Deloitte. The investigation underway by Pinsents and Deloittes is only taking place at the insistence of Murray.
The innuendo against Murray was inappropriate and part of a dirty tricks campaign against the man by those who do not have Rangers best interests at heart [the irony is searing]. The normal reaction to losing a vote of confidence is to resign and let your opponents deal with the consequences of their actions. Murray may feel he has done all he can for the club (or company, if that is how some would like to start calling the entity now). Those who invested in Craig Whyte’s various claims last month will enormously encouraged.
On Friday I’ll be joined by Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville at the Columba Club, Blantyre, for what is certain to be an enjoyable Question and Answer event. Tickets, £5 each, for the Columba Charitable Fund, are available at the door. I’m really looking forward to it. See you there.

Thanks for the reply. You might be right but if you are the principle that an adult taking a kid to the game pays more than one who doesn’t seems wrong. The club has said about its policy of £50 pound for under 13s . So why should the ticket price for a 13-16year old actually go up.
I don’t know if this is the case so l will check with the ticket office as you suggested . Again thanks for the reply.
Does the split still exist in the new set-up? por cierto

Zbysek Happy Birthday! por cierto.
Really don’t see the benefits of these reconstruction proposals.
If they’re going to re energise Scottish football the first thing they must do is change to either a 16 or 18 top division. Anything else is futile and parochial in it’s thinking.

Play offs are inherently unfair. The team finishing 11th having to play off against a team finishing 4th in the league below is unfair. But since there seems to be this obsession about play offs, and meaningful matches, then having a EL play off like they do in Holland would tick those boxes. Makes no difference to Celtic but means that potentially 8 of the 12 places is meaningful one way or the other
hamietim.
Are you going to the Q&A on Friday night.
Is that Celtic gonna knock down the big hoose at the end of the road.
More irony…! lol
Mort
Many thanks for that.
The money isn’t the issue more the principle .
I am going into hospital soon just waiting for the date for my hip replacement/resurfacing, if things go well two months after the first one l will get my other hip done too. It will be between 6 months and a year before l am able to return to work according to my consultant at the Southern General. So l will miss a huge about of games anyway. I don’t have much spare cash as my wife and l both haven’t had a wage increase for almost four years. I will renew and hope someone can use my ticket to take my son when l can’t go.
Again thanks for the reply…might see you at blantyre . I will be ease to spot wee fat guy with walking stick. :-)

goodwill
stay true to roots, values and ethos of club
more competition
a healthier and stronger professional game
more change and excitement in league even if it does not always include us
celtic and second placed team are giving up about 1 million each, so celtic and another are losing out financially, but every club in spl is taking a hit, hopefully short term!!!
the only way our football leagues will improve is if we can develop a model that see’s clubs thrive. the reduction of office barers, distribution of income and play-offs will possibly see clubs generate sustained income. that’s good for celtic

Your adult ticket is already substantially discounted as part of the Parent&Child scheme.
Hope that helps.
