Celtic without Reo Hatate are blunt. This was true at the start of the season, when he missed out on the draw with St Johnstone and clearly still holds during his current injury spell. Pitching Paulo Bernardo, David Turnbull or Odin Holm into the mix is no substitution, they are different players for different roles.
Although Mikey Johnston rightly got plaudits for the transformation at Perth on Sunday, dropping Kyogo into the space vacated by Turnbull, with Oh up top, was just as significant to the outcome. The versatility of Callum McGregor cannot be forgotten either. Callum only dropped into the 6 position after the departure of Scott Brown. Tomoki Iwata can play in the deeper role and allow Callum to take up a more advanced position.
Brendan’s anger at the first half performance against St Johnstone was both scathing and appropriate. The manager, though, also got it wrong. He is the one paid the big bucks to make a silk purse out of an injury crisis.

Celtic kids could be saying to their Papa’s for years to come , ………… Where were you when we played Buckie Thistle?
HRVATSKI JIM re: net zero
Hilarious!
PB’- Viaplay
Thanks Bada, that’s not so bad. If it was on terrestrial then that would take a big ticket hit.
If their supposed to be a waiting list for fans to purchase a season ticket, why has Celtic saying there is tickets available for the Hearts game ,and we’re are these seats,Personally I don’t think their is a waiting list ,if there was I think Celtic would have added on a couple of tiers at each end of the Main Stand ,they tell us lies all the time ,forget about the Hotel ,the new Ticket office and the Museum they ain’t going ahead, and I have my doubts about the New Training Ground up at Barrowfield?
Test
Timbhoy..I can assure you there is a waiting list for season tickets!
My brother been on for 5 years !…
Just read the KO time for Buckie th game
That is a shocker 4pm Sunday middle of winter !!!….really is time for clubs to say enough is enough!!
wee reminder that there’s a Round 16 Superbru fixture tonight at 7.45 pm with 4 more tomorrow night. Around a dozen still to get their prediction in.

VINNIETHEDOG,
While that time suits me, I think it is ridiculous to expect Buckie fans to travel down to Glasgow for that time. I imagine that even if the roads are fine, which might well not be the case, they won’t be home before midnight. Dreadful, imo.
!!BADA BING!! on 5TH DECEMBER 2023 3:04 PM
Celtic v Buckie SC tie,now on Sunday 21st January 4pm ko,any more than a tenner a ticket, be lucky to get 15,000,and give them the gate money
____
That’s a ridiculous day/time for the game. Had it been a Saturday or even earlier on a Sunday, I’d have gone.
Kickoff time could have been worst, 5:30 on a Saturday!
No consideration for our Irish support, and fans who need to travel, when they agree to these ridiculous kick off times
Prestonpans..not sure that would be worse…no work the next day…Buckie fans might have made a weekend out of it staying overnight and a sat night in Glasgow..transport links dreadful Sunday night …just a horrible time all round….
PRESTONPANS BHOYS on 5TH DECEMBER 2023 3:48 PM
Is it viaplay or the bbc who is showing the Buckie game?

free the green brigade and get Celtic Park rocking again , or once again it will be like a damp squid with only the kano kids making any noise , shameful.

A damp squid?
Aye, ok.
St Stivs, Tom McLaughlin and Petec banned?
Shoorly not!

Taylor gives his all in every match .
His character and effort are exemplary,
But I think both fullbacks lack height and power.
I’m in the minority here .
I don’t rate Johnston’s defensive qualities either .
On a personal note .
If I were King .
I would not have anyone below 6’2”in my back 4.
My defenders strengths would be in defending.
442 for me .
Two strikers up top .
One of which is superb in the air , and the other a poacher .

bada from yesterday thanks for the different angle re St Johnstone goal
on a different subject was informed yesterday that Celtic have had more penalties [8-7] than sevco
was suprised at this
Just discovered, on here, that the Buckie Thistle game is to be played on Sunday 21 January 21 2024 at er 4pm.
Just shows the contempt the SFA has, not only for its’ own competition, for Celtic the trophy’s greatest winner, and for Buckie Thistle a Highland League team who have done well to get to this stage and for fans of both teams. Ideally I wanted the game, our first after the winter break dont forget, at 3pm on the Saturday, even 5.30pm at a push. To be honest I would even have preferred a Friday night game, there will be plenty hotel rooms available in Glasgow at that time of year. As for Viaplay, the broadcaster that assured that the vast majority of Scotland supporters never saw one of our Euro qualifiers, (unlike England shown on public broadcaster C4), they are on the way out of Scottish football anyhow and will not be missed. And what of our Board, spineless as usual, as with VAR, as with the masonic cabal of referees we face every week, and accepting anything and everything the SFA throw at us. And usually paying for the privelege. We should have told the SFA to go to hell. Tell Viaplay they are not welcome in the Paradise City.
To hell with them. To hell with the lot of them. Ring that Bell!

He sat down and out came a full bottle of pinot, he drank it before HT, never saw the second 🤪

Thanks for the feedback on Haksabanovic.

Laughable article.
Who recruited the dross for £15M plus £5+ in contracted salaries. Who recruited the 12 previous players most of whom are nowhere near first team.
Who knew the the former insurance employee and chief tea boy at city was a genius in the field of recruitment.
Who ever knew can they put Paul67 out of his misery please.
Watching the highlights of the late St Johnstone headed chance .
Mikey Johnston just lets the Saints player run off him , behind Taylor .

He didn’t make the bench in the last 2 games – don’t think he’s injured

He is injured .

Spot on Sir!
Sevco taking the money out of the mugs bank accounts this week for the “glamour friendly” against Copenhagen. Truly desperate stuff…

Which charity are they not passing the gate receipts to from this one?
GGH- Like a Mafia racket…
Paul’s wee dig at BR reeks somewhat – reads like PL has let his pet Rottweiler off the lead and told him to bite the manager’s ankle.
HH
Not sure how often Hatate has featured this season, but I’m guessing it is not often, so do not really see the point of todays leader. Hardly capturing the zeitgeist though.
We are not short of players, it is up to the Manager to pick the right balance of players from those that are available. Stephen Welsh is available again, good enough to play in SPL games, defensive mid if I am not mistaken, and will get the odd goal from set pieces. Barring one game it is Scottish football all the way, forget Europe until next June. Concentrate on the game in hand. The Scottish one.

PB is PL’s rottweiler.
Please dont make me laugh.
Rottwiellers have teeth they aint gumzy from the sweeties being thrown at them
As McGoon will tell you keep those who stock up the bird table close in the modrin meeja world that Paul operates in.Little wonder the Cellic blogga goes after the clicks, but PL does what DD wants,Brendan wiil get it right and his direct line to DD is the difference this time
And Paul, like Harry, like McGoon are no more in the know than you or i.
Roll on tomorrow and a Celtic victory

I keep reading suggestions that we start both Kyogo and Oh, as they’ve shown that they can play in the same side.
Am I alone in seeing the problem that would ensue as a result of starting both?
BR asks his players to play a high intensity, rnergy sapping style of play. This inevitably results in forward players tiring as the second half progresses.
In an ideal world, with all players fit and available, we would utilise our 5 subs and take 5 of the 6 forward players off after they’ve run themselves into the ground – bringing on fresh legs to maintain the intensity of our play.
Unfortunately, with the likes of Maeda, Abada, Hatate all unavailable, our squad is stretched (quality wise) and our options from the bench are not as good as we’d like.
So, the problem with starting both Kyogo and Oh (as I see it) is this….what do we do if and when they have both ran out of steam, say after 70 mins?
If the result is still in the balance, what do we do then? Who comes off the bench to replace them, if we need a goal?
At the moment we can start with one, finish with the other, and have some overlap. That is the right way to get the best from them both, imo.
With so many games coming up this month, it would be foolish to ask either Kyogo or Oh to play 90+ mins game after game, twice a week.
I just don’t see both starting as an option, to be honest.

Actually I was thinking along those lines this afternoon, once 3-5-2 was mentioned. I think we would end up in Mikey Johnston territory 🫣
The ladies football really is absolute rubbish tonight.
