Celtic continue cornering French youth team

397

Celtic look set to continue their cornering of the French youth international team by capturing Olivier Ntcham (21) this week. He would be the most recent signing in a productive relationship with Manchester City which has seen Patrick Roberts, Dedryck Boyata and Jason Denayer all make the journey to from Manchester to Glasgow.

Olivier joined City as a 16-year-old and has been on loan at Genoa for the last two years. The player will doubtlessly be impressed by the progress of Roberts and international teammate, Moussa Dembele, at Celtic Park.

Ntcham is an attacking central midfield player who will compete with Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong for a place in the team. At 21, he has played a lot less football than either of them, but with 30-odd games in Serie A under his belt whose progress has been meticulously planned by City since 16, we should be getting someone first-team ready.

A year ago, we were told our signings were a reaction to the arrival in town of Joey Barton. I wonder who has us worried this year? Or maybe we just plan our business well, pay our bills, tax and NI, then spend whatever is left over. Like we have done for 20 years.

“…and having examined the judgment of the UK Supreme Court, the Board has determined…”

    SFA, 5th July 2017

Who knows if the SFA had prior disclosure or not. The swift announcement of No Futher Action by the SFA was a PR disaster. It simply intensifies suspicion of collaboration between the execs at the SFA and Newco/Oldco (whatever they are). At least the SPFL played for time and gave the appearance of examining the judgment professionally.

I would have thought Lord Hodge’s careful speech might received more than cursory consideration before it was binned.

It would be nice to know,

    a)When was the judgment received?

    b)How and who examined it?

    c)Where and when?

    Detail and specifics etc.

    Anyway, judgement v judgment ?

I think we need 2 Centre Halves so news of the Young Man City guy appeals to me.

Simonovic Erik and Boyatta..all decent but not reliable in terms of fitness or form.

We need competition and succession planning.

The midfield competition is mental now.

If Dembele goes we need a couple of strikers in.

Wonderful place: staff, food, drink, facilities, entertainment rooms all excellent.

Only slight negative: Some rooms looked onto an empty workers camp.

I’m just back from a Sensimar hotel in Marmaris, that was equally good.

  6. Nineteen years ago in 1998, when Murray uttered his famous “for every fiver” speech, he knew that cheating was the only way forward for Rangers. He didn’t know how much Celtic were going to spend, but he knew that it would legal and above board – he also knew that Rangers were going to defraud HMRC and use that money in an attempt to crush Celtic.

Premeditated, systematic and methodical cheating can and must mean only one thing – a wholesale stripping of everything they ‘won’ from 1998 up until they were caught.

The Celtic family must come together and raise, by whatever legal means, the money to employ the top QCs in the UK – this is a case that we have to win – don’t count on help from others – there won’t be any forthcoming.

As a young player, he qualifies for List B. This leaves another place on List A for an older player.

Re the Boumsong transfer saga .

I always remember listening to his agent at the time WM ,he was on radio snyde and he said .

I touted the boumsong deal around a few clubs in scotland and I have to give D Murray his due ,he had that balls to do the deal .

Right away I thought an up and coming French international payer on a free transfer ,why would you need balls to do that deal .

    well maybe we know now

    TTR,

I didn’t see anything on that link, photo wise, that suggested that Roberts was at City training.

He probably was, as he is a MC player, but no indication as to whether he will remain one or not.

I thought it was just a Twitter looking at a pic of a wee fella and assuming it was Roberts.

Regarding decent hun supporters. There is no such thing. They don’t exist. There are more dodo’s on the planet. You may meet some who outwardly at first seem like decent human beings. But when push comes to shove especially if they are in a group their mask slips and you see the hatred that lies beneath and the sleekitness (if that’s a word) bubbles to the surface. These excuses for people would rather see you dead than admit that they done anything wrong. So don’t kid yourself.

P.S. IMO Celtic’s board will come out swinging on this case when the time is right which may be a lot sooner than we think. (I PRAY I’M RIGHT HERE)

Ferguslayedtheblues, I bought a Scotland on Sunday , their sports section was good, the weekend after it was announced Boumsong had signed a pre contract with the former club known as Rangers.

There was an intervew with Bumsong’s agent, Wille McKay . He represented a number of Fench players.

In the Scotland on Sunday interview , McKay said It was likely Boumsong would only be at Ibrox for a season only ,and wouldn’t be surprised if he was transferred out of Ibrox during the first transfer window after signing. He expanded on this saying he got the impression during signing talks , that Murray wanted to make money on Boumsong rather than him help the team in the long term.
