Celtic continue cornering French youth team

397

Celtic look set to continue their cornering of the French youth international team by capturing Olivier Ntcham (21) this week. He would be the most recent signing in a productive relationship with Manchester City which has seen Patrick Roberts, Dedryck Boyata and Jason Denayer all make the journey to from Manchester to Glasgow.

Olivier joined City as a 16-year-old and has been on loan at Genoa for the last two years. The player will doubtlessly be impressed by the progress of Roberts and international teammate, Moussa Dembele, at Celtic Park.

Ntcham is an attacking central midfield player who will compete with Tom Rogic and Stuart Armstrong for a place in the team. At 21, he has played a lot less football than either of them, but with 30-odd games in Serie A under his belt whose progress has been meticulously planned by City since 16, we should be getting someone first-team ready.

A year ago, we were told our signings were a reaction to the arrival in town of Joey Barton. I wonder who has us worried this year? Or maybe we just plan our business well, pay our bills, tax and NI, then spend whatever is left over. Like we have done for 20 years.

If we’re serious about justice, hit them were it hurts, in their pockets. No away support to any club that doesnt officially demand an independent inquiry into the years of cheating and no support whatsoever for any SFA Scottish Cup ties.

Money is the only language that they understand.

  8. I’v been having a laugh at this new line the SMSM are milking dry ” has or have no appetite for title stripping” kind of going along the lines of, “yes we know they cheated but let’s move on”

So now we have had paranoid, obsessed, and now appetite is the new buzz word.

  9. BMCUWPs,

Many Happy returns or Hoooooooooopy Birthday as you would say!!

    A perfect day I suppose would be;

    1) Another (hilarious) all guns blazing statement from Glibby and Jabba.

    followed by

    2) Patrick Roberts and Olivier Ntcham signing.

    3) Stuart Armstrong signing

    4) SPFL stripping every Dis-Honour from Oldco/Newco/Sevco

    5) Torrential rain over night and tomorrow.

Great times to be a Tim. Anyway I noticed on Hun (Rangers) Media that they have a Thread giving out about the Hector Shirts…Causing quite a stir. I think it’s called ‘Is this what Scottish Football is Coming to?’

    Have a great day.

    Tontine Tim,

I’d missed your posts and I wasn’t aware you were over. Safe trip to YYZ.

  10. I was listening to a pod cast this morning, a BBC one, and the program presenter said he called the 12 SPFL clubs, on the title stripping, 5 said yes, three said no, and four said they would wait, of course he never mentioned who the yeses and the no’s where, so it was a kind of pointless statement? Not that I didn’t expect it mind you lol.

  11. With regards to Res 12…

Could it not be considered that since RFCil and indeed the SFA actively participated in covering up the events relating to tax evasions by RFCil, and that the active cover up is still on-going (even today), that in fact the criminal ‘event/activity’ is not limited to any particular year in the past but has spanned the years even to the present day?

If it comes to any form of statute of limitations, that particular clock has not started yet because the criminal cover up directly supporting the fraud & tax evasion by RFCil is still active today.

I am no lawyer but if a group of individuals is actively involved in a fraud and that fraudulent activity has not been terminated, couldn’t all that activity be deemed to be part of the one crime?

    Just thinking ….

  12. When it comes to the SMSM saying there is no appetite for title stripping, I’m starvin’ mate!

Why does it take Celtic so long to complete transfer deals ? they seem to drag on much more than other clubs.I was looking to us having completed all incoming transfers before the Champions league qualifyers started but we are still trying to get players in is this down to poor planning on Celtics part ? or is it due to the crazy money being paid for very ordinary players in the transfer market we are working in ?. I believe we still need a centre back and another striker we also need to sort out the Armstrong situation one way or another.H.H.

I had been wondering where our reserve goalies had disappeared to, but just read that Bailey has signed for a Belgian team & Fasan is out of contract.

I also see GMS is being linked with a permanent move to Aberdeen, would probably be the right move for player & Club,

  21. GuyFawkesaforeverhero on

I’m pleased to read that Linfield and PSNI have plans in place to accommodate many hundreds of Celts at Friday’s game. Quite rightly, a professional football club has full confidence in itself and the police service to operate UEFA’s 10 point plan.

We’ve been ill-served by the tired old grey men and woman on our board, once again on this game. Football should never be reduced to a sanitised, easy time and quiet life and I wish those on the board who yearn for that, left the table to enjoy their deserved retirement.

When Celtic play, Celts will travel to watch. Be it thousands, hundreds or tens the few will stand and sing for us all. No drama.

Here we go, 7IAR! Still five to go.
