  1. Just in from game , Barca definitely got a cynical side to their game and as for Neymar what a horrible wee barsteward !!

  2. We are just one or two players away from being able to compete in this league!!!

Watched the game and although we got a wee bit pumped we were not far away,

Their forward line gets paid more in a week than ours does in a quarter.

Maybe their forward line even gets paid in a week more than our ENTIRE team gets paid in a month.

Thats what we are up against and thats why I m impressed with us tonight

  3. The spirit of Arthur Lee:

    Yes.

    Owen.

You think Armstrong takes good corners? Or McGregor can shoot? Or Bitton is quick? These are the only three players I mentioned. Not, as you said, every Celtic player. Please don’t misquote me.

Barca had qualified and Neymar was a yellow away from missing the next game

He is a cock but that is how you play the CL game

    Love

…….. and as for Neymar what a horrible wee barsteward !!

    ============

….. and ably assisted by a starstruck referee !

  6. Looked like Neymar was deliberately seeking a yellow card to miss a meaningless last group game and clear the decks for the last 16. He certainly seemed delighted in the dugout.

Rakatic did the same. Deliberately pulled back Forrest (I think) to get a yellow and miss the meaningless next game v BMG.

Was driving so not able to respond until now.

As for flags … how about Palestine?

In the less literal sense, how about the OBAFA? there are posters on here who seem to know what they are talking about in regards to that issue, and I tend to believe them, over a Board who has said nothing.

  9. Bloody traffic Oan the London road after the game

Anyway, like Burnley78 I have absolutely no feelings for Barcelona Celtic only for me

Was really dissapointed in the supposedly great footballing teams antics tonight

In the 3 games played at home in this tournament, I believe Borrusia was the best team we played or most impressive ?

    Hail Hail and Nytol

  10. PARK ROAD 67-that was a cold shift tonight, my nephew told me tonight that a need to watch final in New York New York hotel!

  11. Definitely a sign of progress that we are all frustrated at a 0-2 reverse to Barca. Fine margins at this level – decision making and a bit of luck.

  12. a light insanity on

I don’t like Barcelona. I just like Celtic. The ref was a fawning wee sh## . Jail all tax dodgers.

  13. mit

    palestine flags another country.

    scottish flags for independence yes.

barca flags same country for independence.

your hatred for the board is tiring.

    bhoys played great.

  14. Definite signs of improvement from our defeat against Red Imps to our loss against Barca tonight. We are now by far a better team under BR than the insipid performances under his predecessor. We now look like a proper football team with better tactical awareness, ability, skill and most of all heart. Good times ahead.

its a celtic board , you do bring up none celtic posts and as you have said you dont watch celtic.

its like in a election, its democrating untill your side loses.

good night and come back to the fold. you know you want to.

  17. Well played Craig Gordon tonight.

Thought you were a little at fault for 1st but that incredible point blank save more than made up for it.

The near post seems to be the only remaining weakness in Craigs game as his kicking and coming for crosses seems to have been sorted.

Hope the coaches work a bit on this weakness

Don’t get all the hating on Barca tonight.

They are a very good side but have to many flaws to win Champions league.

Tax dodging is a rich mans sport and i’m sure these guys are being coached to do it.

Hate the laws that allow such not the the players who are taking advice from so called experts.

Neymar can take credit for two remarkable things he accomplished tonight.

The first was a truly sublime pass for Messi’s goal.

The second was uniting this blog on the consensus that he is a fud who should get a good boot in the baws.

  18. BIG PEAT OF ISLAY

    Mibbies aye mibbies naw.

The first leg was a shambles so that was embarrassing but tonight for the odd break we could have got something.

New coach who was still learning about the champions league and players suitable for this level.

We gave them to much respect and payed for it reflecting in the aggregate score.

Hopefully we have learned a lesson from the experience.

I agree with what your saying bar Brendan being inexperienced.

It has become common currency of late for Celtic to be humped by the high and the low in Europe.

It somewhat tarnishes our reputation as an illustrious club.

  20. FAN-A-TIC on 24TH NOVEMBER 2016 1:40 AM

I thought we were very decent tonight.

We passed well, we moved well to receive the pass.

We harried and closed down the space and we even won the ball back doing this. Or atleast watched barca punt the ball to get out.

I was very impressed with the balls we shown tonight.

We are just 20 or 30 million away from competing here.

Thats the long and short of it. 3 x 10 million players or 2 x 15 million players.

The fact that is just slightly out of our league makes it more desirable, could we get another dembele for 500k??

We might need a team of them to compete here, or just a few more of them.

After watching Eric the Viking tonight if he was the same size and build as Van Djik he would be worth more. His strength and positional play tonight was outstanding and bails us out time and time again.

IS he the constant in defence this year?

    Clunks

Geo takes pics for CQN, Green Brigade and Celtic News Now so it is not just us who are affected.

This is all about MSM trying to limit grown in support based media.

Celtic make all the right noises but actions louder than words.

Not sure if there will be a match report tonight. Why bother?

    =====================

Never caught your reply to this. Are the MSM influencing Celtic to block your access to take pictures at Celtic home games?

Is that what you are saying?

  22. CLUNKS

I concur on almost everything you say.

Erik got caught ball watching on Messi’s goal but apart from that was excellent.

Maybe we have some gems in on our youth system and combined with Brendan shrewd signings we can start to compete.

Our previous problems player personnel aside was down to us being a reactive side.

We are starting to become more proactive but need upgrades in some positions to complete.

In the two European games we returned to our old reactive style we got spanked.

0-9 over two legs is an embarrassment.

Not an embarrassment to those who hold Celtic dear and have faith in the bhoys to raise their game for every higher level of challenge they face. Hang yer head.

    ===============================================

It was folk like you and your level of ‘character’ that allowed the mediocre years of the biscuit tin legend to go on unchallenged. You and yours almost let the huns get 10 in a row.

Whether or not the huns cheated (and we now know they did), notwithstanding Celtic never raised their game for many years, because of people like you who think that 0-9 is NOT an Embarrassment.

The shame is on you and your ilk who accept this as acceptable.

Neuchatel Xamax 5 Celtic 1: UEFA Cup 1991-92

Artmedia Bratislava 5 Celtic 0: Champions League qualifier, 2005-06

Lincoln Red Imps 1 Celtic 0: Champions League qualifier, 2016-17

    Barcelona 7 Celtic 0: Champions League, 2016-17

We have become whipping boys of Europe in recent years.

Once we were feared. Once Parkhead was a fortress.

I call a spade a spade. Give credit were it is due. But Barcelona 0-9 is not an accident, a one off or a freak result.

  28. When do we stop being a work in progress football club ?

When will Cellic managers realize that, Cellic teams with wan striker are p#sh ?

When will Brendan realize that McGregor hizny goat it and that….a hun is looking oot him ?

When will Cellic managers realize that when we go into the CL that ‘we’ are the wee guys ?

When will Brendan realize that, Patrick Roberts would be better playing through the middle behind the main striker ala…..

Wee Super Joe Miller at Aberdeen…or, Wee Super Joe Miller in the hun treble trashing SCF 1989 ?

When will Brendan realize that, James Forrest is Cellic’s version of Ribbery-Robben and play him from the start as he is – if managed properly – Cellic’s leathal weapon ?

Brendan needs to realize that – Armstrong and Rogic are ok for the SPFL – but, they’re not what we’re looking for in the CL ?

Bitton ?…he’ll git ye yer books Brendan.

When will Brendan’s teams be filled with the requisite levels of siege mentality that will stop them from going to ground looking for decisions that will not be going they’re way and then, standing with they’re arms held up to the sky doing the Calimero it’s an injustice routine ?……street savvy should be evident by the bucket load….afore the players get a jersey….imho.

Anyway,….given the choice, I’d rather win on Sunday than last night.

Having said all of that…..if, Kieran would have been playing last night…..it could have been a grand ole night.

As Murdo said on Saturday – “Celtic have already been successful in getti g into the group stages.”

Roy Keane was also upbeat after last night as well and, pointed out that Cellic don’t have enough quality on the pitch for CL level just now and that he appreciates the difference in tv money etc but, maybe Cellic could and, should be looking at the Dutch leagues for players…..VVD!

    Anyway,…….Brendan,….get the siege-mentality heids on for Sunday….ah smell a mibbery day….only saying.

My head is a, Jungle, Jungle, Jungle……know whit a mean Starry ? :-)

Big John Wayne – Sean Thornton – was a freemason ? Hmmmm ?

    Take care Celts.

    ….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……..

  29. Morning all. I have had all day to think about the game and I thought so players did well and some not so well. As a team, we were right in it until the second goal and we were actually having our best spell of the match just before Suarez bought the penalty.

Here is my tuppenceworth. Comments and sharing welcome and thanks to all who have wished me well with this.Thanks.

  30. I actually thought that last night was the best I’ve seen us play against Barcelona. We didn’t get the breaks at crucial times and on a few occasions our final ball let us down but overall I was very pleased with how our hooped heroes performed.

  31. Good morning friends from a dry, clear skied, very cold and frosty East Kilbride.

Really enjoyed our performance last night and the way that we set out our stall and approached the game, attacking when we could, avoiding the lumps up the park (as far as possible) and trying to defend against the world’s best front 3. Ref gave us absolutley nothing and were it not for the penalty then who knows.

    Captain Brown was absolutely wonderful.

Oh well, 3 more sleeps till Silverware Sunday. Here we go again (clap, clap), we’re on the road again (clap, clap)…..
