50 SHADES OF GREEN on 1ST NOVEMBER 2017 10:21 AM
‘once he does those 3 little words should then come into play.’
###
‘Should’.
And how often are vital goals conceded in the aftermath of an exuberant goal celebration?
Keep on doing what you’ve been doing and you’ll keep on getting what you’ve been getting.

‘Goal celebrations are for loser.’
###
Conceding vital goals is for losers.
So, unless you want to be a loser, you try to avoid conceding vital goals.
That might involve an element of sacrifice and discipline.

In your opinion you reckon that money has nothing to do with players having the where with all when it comes to their performance.
I disagree, lots of players have attitude but they lack the talent, Kenny Miller is a good example, he has attitude to burn but…………….
Players that have everything, talent, skill, guile, attitude cost money, money that you say has no bearing on things.
Maybes you should start a team that costs feck all and win the CL, if as you say it costs nothing it should be a dawdle to the likes of you :-)

The issue isn’t the actual celebration itself. It’s how we get switched back onto “game mode” afterwards.

Compare and contrast the two legs of that fixture.
Chalk and cheese.
The financial disparity between the two clubs didn’t change over the two games.
What changed was the attitude of the players.
In the first leg it was awful. They were beaten before a ball was kicked. They allowed Bayern to rag doll them. Yes, Bayern individually and collectively are more talented than Celtic, and that’s down to money. But the gulf was nowhere as large as the performance in the first leg suggested.

And if you can’t find a way of doing that, then maybe it’s worth a try at doing what you do when you need another goal quickly.

I agree, but to say money has nothing to do with it is wrong, players that can switch it on more often than not cost money, we have a few in our team that the big money clubs are looking at, they have it all imo, with coaching they will be world class, we have others in the team that will never reach that level, no matter how well they are coached, hence they cost money we don’t have.
FYI here are some of the teams that can and most likely will drop into EL from the CL groups, team highest placed in the group is first and so on;
GROUP A
FC Basel or CSKA Moscow
GROUP B
us
GROUP C
Athletico Madrid or FK Qarabag
GROUP D
Juventus or Sporting Lisbon
GROUP E
Liverpool, Spartak Moscos or Sevilla
GROUP F
Shaktar Donetsk or Napoli
GROUP G
RB Leipzig, Porto or Monaco
GROUP H
Borussia Dortmund or Apoel Nicosia
Tontine Tim, it was The Boss, Jersey Girl:-)
Some decent teams already in there, but I’d fancy my chances against any of them after last night, and that includes Arsenal, AC Milan or Lazio.
Here are the teams in first and second from each group in EL;
Slavia Prague
Villarreal
Dynamo Kiev
Young Boys
Ludogerets Razgrad
Braga
AC Milan
AEK Athens
Atalanta
Lyon
Locomotiv Moscow
FC Copenhagen
Steaua Bucharest
Viktoria Plzen
Arsenal
BATE Borisov
Red Bull Salzburg
Marseille
Ostersunds FK
Zorya Luhansk
Lazio
Nice
Zenit
Real Sociedad
Can anyone tell me why there was a need for Celtic Boys Club to be fund raising outside the ground last night?
Was that the official affiliated Celtic Boys Club?
If so why are they not funded by the club and require to fund raise?
Questions questions questions.

“Celtic Boys Club” has, as far as I’m aware, no formal association with Celtic. Their teams are not even permitted to wear the hoops.
Doubtless they were fundraising because, like all youth football clubs, they need the dough.
Last night —
A curate’s egg thing — very good in parts and quite poor in other parts ..
It’s a cliche but at that level you have to take your chances and you have to avoid gifting the opposition chances.
On the Europa League italian teams front -.No idea re how the gerrymandered UEFA style draw works but on current form I’d welcome AC Milan and would prefer to avoid Atalanta and Lazio .. Napoli ? – might progress in the CL but if they end up in The Europa League I wouldn’t risk a cent on them taking it seriously .
Today’s get oot and do something 45 –

On last night’s game, the performance was hugely encouraging, the result largely as expected.
There was a point – around 75 minutes – when it crossed my mind that I’d have a slice of humble pie to eat on here today, given my comments pre-match. Reality is, the players showed far more last night than they had hitherto, and the challenge now is to sustain and improve on that standard.
I wouldn’t disagree with anyone suggesting our immediate priority is a central defence capable of working at this level.
Bunnet doffed to Brendan for his adjustments to shape and function, and to the players who delivered for him. Now to close the deal with a win against Anderlecht. That and a sneaky, pragmatic and confident point in Paris (humour).

Round of 32 has the 12 EL group winners plus the top 4 ranked UCL 3rd place teams in pot 1, with the EL runners up and 4 lesser ranked UCL 3rd place teams in pot 2.
No team can play another from the same association, or one from its EL group.
Curate’s Egg – yip.
My old man used to say, fools and children shouldn’t see a job half done, how true. Brendan’s job is just half done and by my reckoning the improvement is startling and the future looks very bright. We continue to get better, take a few beatings on the way, but, and it’s a big but, we have no doubt learned a a hell of a lot in the meantime. That my friends is progress.
We are indeed living in good times, be thankful.

I’m totally outraged that we failed to score shortly after Bayern celebrated their first goal!

Can I just say that I have celebrated being a Celtic fan all my life, however, I am just about to start a course of anti-depressantsn and so look forward to seeing them score their first goal —- although when I say “look forward” I don’t really mean that I mean I will sort of put up with it in a humdrum sort of a way!
