  1. Right that’s me.

After taking time out to watch the game in the middle of a busy day, I’m away doon tae the Strip tae Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant for a fish supper and a few nippy sweeties.

    Sporting my Hoops, of course…

What a day. One foot in the fabled land.

  2. Really enjoyed game and experience last night .Celtic Park can be very special when everyone pulls in the same direction.Broonie,Griff,Kolo were excellent as were some others. Not going to mention others in the team who were not as good.We now have a manager who treats players, fans with dignity and respect. He will make the changes that we all know will have to be made at the right time. Most excited as a Tim since the Blessed Martin.

    Thanks for posting that , `GG .

Really wanted to hear Brendan`s post match comments.

He seems a class act .

  4. The case for shutting down the safe-standing area is now made – these people with their flags – I counted well over sixty, don’t give a f*** about the rest of us – let’s squeeze them out, once and for all, and when we identify them – we sue them. Probably they will want instalments of £2.50/week – we should still take it off them.

    Proud of what “people”?

The 55,000 who backed the team and did not infringe UEFA rules.

    or

The 150 selfish b******* who will cost Celtic tens of thousand of pounds and add anothe few lines to our UEFA charge-sheet.

Shut the area down until we identify the a***holes – then ban them for ever and sue them.

  6. Interesting first half stats. Well for the anoraks.

    Brown made most passes

Brown had may more passes than anyone else except McGregor

Brown 34 passes with 94% accuracy

Calum had 31 with 91% accuracy

EOC was next with 21 88% accuracy.

EOC was tied with the Israeli’s top passer Ogu who has 78% accuracy.

  7. This tie is NOT finished – if they can score two away – they can score three at home – Can we score?, yes – Will we score?, I’m not confident – I’m hopeful.

  8. My posts keep falling off the edge of oblivion

I compiled the Distances covered stat twice and the site didn’t like them

Celtic’s profile worldwide will have risen exponentially as a result of positive media/images viewed tonight on social media and news. I have yet to read 1 negative news story from anywhere in the world regarding the Palestine flag display, with the exception of Scotland and Celtic sites such as this. Shame that so many on here frown on protest and the young taking an interest in politics.

UEFA says flying a Palestine flag is wrong, surely we of all supporters should be asking WHY single out 1 countries flag.

Would it be right if we had a Palestinian in our squad and we got to a Euro finale and he couldn’t celebrate at end of the game with his countries flag wrapped over his shoulders(as many players do) because for some obscure reason UEFA deemed that flag political.

    FCUK UEFA.

  10. I envy those waking up at home with the prospect of going into work to greet Zombies.

I bet none of them watched our display.

My advice is to be nonchalant and just remark that we are making a habit of scoring five at Celtic Park.

Counting flags at a match must be so rewarding.

Closing down the safe standing area whilst tracking down those whom you wish to ban from Celtic park is as usual the act of punishing the innocent for the actions of a minority

A bit like Isreali treatment of the Palastinion children

  12. eddie

Therein lies the crap in which some Celtic fans wallow.

    1) Palestine Authority in NOT a country. Thus they have no national flag.

They have refused statehood three times. 1937 Peel Commission, 1948 UN resolution and Camp David. They now want it because Israel opposes it, Israel having agreed to it onall the previous occasions.

    2) Negative reports on flag demo? If you have not read a negative report you are only looking at friendly sites. “Exponentially rising profile” is typical of 80s minded socialists who have been left behind by world events. Oppressed people live in Cumnock and Easterhouse and Craigmillar NOT Gaza City, They have their reality in Gaza and your wee flag waving will do ZERO, NOTHING, NADA for them. But it makes you feel like you are an International comrade.

    3) Lets sign a Palestinian (who didn’t actually exist before 1964), He might be crap. but the rest of the team and the club will buy into your “lounge bar” socialism and play him. Probably as captain. Doesn’t matter what his name is – you don’t care so why should I. He IS Palestinian, that is all that matte

    4) Egypt and Jordan were part of the invading muslim armies in 1948 and 67. They are scared of their Arab neighbours. If you wish to deny Israel the right to exist – just say so. Don’t hide behind fuzzy rhetoric about Palestinians and Territories. Hamas is sworn to eliminate Israel and murder all Jews. They are the dominant force within the PA and COMPLETELY control Gaza.

    6) Egypt nor Jordan wants anything to do with Gaza. Egypt floods the unlawful tunnels from Gaza with sewage. They block the Rafah entrance/exit from Gaza.

    7) Egypt and Jordan have realized that the Islamists in Gaza are nutters and are now fighting against them in Sinai and Yemen.

    8) All Muslim countries in the region could end the suffering of the people of Gaza tomorrow. They don’t want to, because those people are hostages for their cause.

    9) Israel doesn’t want Gaza and never has, so why has there been an issue. Because Gaza is so chaotic that they are happy to accommodate Hamas & others who want to destroy Israel. Hamas are gangsters. They assassinate people in the street, disappear others and refuse to allow anything other than a strict Islamist control. No Burkas, no gays, no womens rights, no dissent, no democracy. This is your socialist comrade.

    10) Which countries FIRST invaded Gaza and the West Bank? Why and When?

Israel has three times been attacked by surprise at dawn by overwhelming Arab forces. In 1948, the odds were 40:1 in favour of Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and Lebanon. NO Western countries came to their aid. No Planes, no tanks, no guns – nothing, as they fought for their lives. The Russians, of all people, decided that the Israelis needed weapons & planes. Czechoslovakia supplied a small amount of both and Israel survived. All Israelis ever did was decide they wouldn’t get murdered again.

Israel faced these attacks because the Arab countries wanted their complete destruction, Men, Women and children. Israel repeatedly let Arabs live in occupied territory till it became clear that occupied territories meant filled with terrororists.

Glasses on and sipping coffee, now to read back and correct all my spelling errors :-)

  16. Morning celts.

3 goal cushion to take to Israel? I thought about it all day yesterday but never imagined it would happen. We’ll done Celtic.

I’ll be commuting to work on my Brendan Rodgers space hopper again this morning.

I’m not going to say anything on the flags. I said my piece last week. Whatever course of action will be taken by UEFA will be taken and it’s out of our hands. No point falling out about it now.

  17. After dreaming about the game last night my conclusion is Celtic were playing really good football that was a dream to watch We now have a football manager who knows what is required, but more importantly when it’s required. Great result

  18. Good morning friends. Unable to provide a weather report this morning due to the thick fog that’s currently enveloping East Kilbride. Further update in 20 minutes ;-)

What a rollercoaster that was last night! BUt at the end of the day a 3 goal cushion to take to Israel was better than I had hoped for. Onwards o Perth!

  19. Leigh Griffiths free kick goal last night: last season, his free kicks were terrible – they were either hitting the wall or way over. Looks like he’s been practicing during the training sessions – we’ve been missing a dead ball specialist for a while.

What was the percentage of the Jewish population of Palestine in 1916 ?

  21. Great performance last night. Good result, but tie is by no means over.

Almost spoiled for me by the complete idiots that now sit behind me, who moaned and moaned throughout the match and when challenged offered their fellow fans a square go outside.

    Sometimes I wonder what’s become of us…

As for the Green Brigade Guide to World Politics of the Pure Oppressed…

… I look forward to their pro-Ukrainian protest when we play a Russian team.

Sunnyjim, what a load of brown stuff your last post was. Thank fcuk I’ve been fortunate enough to not have met you.

Could you supply links to all these negative press stories worldwide you have read.

  23. Thought the ref was OK as well last night

Prepared to let tackles go, telling players to get on with it

Fair on both teams ? ( should have the hapeol player that scythed down James Forrest out Ipoh touch line mind you :-))

According to Ottoman statistics studied by Justin McCarthy, the population of Palestine in the early 19th century was 350,000, in 1860 it was 411,000 and in 1900 about 600,000 of whom 94% were Arabs.

Don`t you think these stats are relevant ?

  25. eddieinkirkmichael on

Italiabhoy why would an anti facist group such as the Green Brigade come out in support of a facist state such as Ukraine?

  26. An Teach Solais on

Great night. Met friend hadn’t seen for over 20 nights. Invited back to his house and we talked about Celtic all night. So kip time now. Great attacking football but need to learn not to have all experienced defenders up for corners when we are winning comfortably. Be’er have nippy forwards so need to ensure that midfielders cut off their supply.

If we can score over there early doors would expect I would say, “Mission Accomplished”.

Heard the most illogical comment at the game that those who chose to flag Palestinian flag “had already paid the expected fine by paying for their ticket” Was it like Ryanair, basic admission augmented by optional add-ons? I agreed that the EUFA han on that particular flag is illogical, too but seriously!!!! HH

Cowiebhoy, I was really impressed by the refs handling of the game to. His letting us have the advantage for Rogics goal was great refereeing.

Wonder if Collum or Thomson would have made same call in SPFL GAME.

Think Sinclair may have been booked for dangerous play by those two tbh

Said that to my dad on way home last night

He let most arial contact go as most of the time both players are at it

Also noticed Lustig speaking to his countryman a few times

  29. No change in the eK weather from 7.06. Perhaps it’s a heat haze. Enjoy your days. Special times are a comin’

    Great win last night.

Kolo Toure taking the ball out of defence was excellent.

Leigh Griff….That bhoy is very, very good.

Id play Erik in the return with Kolo.

As for the huns moaning about flags….feck off to another site.

Threatening Celtic fans, wanting to hunt down offenders….I dont think so

    That wont be happening.

Anybody tries any of that nonsense with me….will wish they hadnt.

Time we got rid of the huns on this site.

    Good morning fellow Celts

    What a fantastic result!

Thought Leigh was absolutely oitstanding – has grown into a class act.

  32. Blantyretim Cowiebhoy There was quite a few 50/50s that players tussled and both fell down and he waved play on, it was good to see. It was great to watch a match and not really pay attention to the ref…
