I’ve got a mate who is a club sponsor, as he works in London, we get his Directors Box tickets now and again.
The wee yin and her Mum love it!
As do I!
He has a villa half an hours drive from Estadio Nacional and invited me over for the Lisbon party, flight only!
However, the wee yin has highers on the 23rd and 26th so I declined.
I drive her to school and we don’t want to alter the routine.
She has worked her socks off and I’d rather be here with her.
I wish all the Lisboneers every good wish…………….but watch out for those bbc camera’s…….I don’t trust them.

Today has been an emotional day. Celtic have never been run better than it is now and that is a joy for me and the other Lions who have so often have had to bite our tongues for the good of supporters.
I knew we were going to be well received today but that display at the start and on the 67th minute was hard for us to stay in control. It was beautiful and I want to thank the supporters for that from the bottom of my heart.
I am getting the Tommy Gemmell shirt tomorrow from the boys at CQN and can promise you we will ALL sign it. CQN are raffling it so it will go to a ordinary supporter not a rich businessman, which I like.
I will see you in Greenock next Friday, the supporters club there is exceptional and is always very welcoming to myself and the other Lions. The CQN events there in the past have been wonderful occasions.
I know that Jim is taking hundreds of you to Lisbon – I was speaking to a fella in the hotel earlier today who is going. Brogan Rogan’s dad helped thousands of fans get to Lisbon the first time around so I am really pleased for him that this is happening.
Enjoy Lisbon those who are going, I had a great time the first time I was there 50 years ago.
Don’t drink too little, I hear there’s a free bar!
Finally well done to Paul on running the marathon in Stirling. He ran past my big pal Tommy’s old house and would have thought of him as he sprinted past. That was for the Foundation too.
Olive isn’t happy, says that all I ever talk about is Celtic. She might be right.

Good evening friends. WHAT A DAY!!!
The final results for the 2 competitions are shown below. HOWEVER, when I’ve issued the reuslts each week I’ve almost always had a couple of folk disputing their score and more often than not they have been correct! Therefore, these results are not yet verified so, winners, don’t go spending the cash quite yet! CRC will be in touch over the next couple of days to arrange payment of the prizes.
For the main competion it’s a huge congratulations to Angel Gabriel. 6 points behind going into the final round, playing a joker on 5-goals Arsenal just sneaked him into fist place. Nearly pipped at the post by The Young Fella who had a joker on 7-goal Tottenham!
As for the ‘last 3 rounds’ competition it gives me great pleasure in announcing that the runner up from GFS1, Mike In Tororonto, managed to secure 1st place here by choosing 7-goal Spurs.

What a Club & what a Blog. 50 years on and a legend like Willie Wallace just drops in for a chat with the fans. Incredible.
What a season it has been, a Cup win next week will be the icing on the cake but already we have won the League undefeated. Just 4 draws & in 3 of those we conceded equaliser in 86th, 87th & to an Olympic winning dive in the 90th.
I believe in 100 years time Celts will talk about this season & look at the clips like the Tifo today with pride & wonderment.
Remember it happened on our watch, special times Bhoys, treasure these moments.

Kudos to the Hearts` fans for their generous applause both before and after the game in a sporting recognition of Celtic`s achievements this season. I believe this kind of response would be more frequent if the Ibrox club disappeared entirely.

My 5 year old grandson goes to soccer lions on a saturday morning – every week they have a little competition (5 a side) and they choose their team name – usually Stoke or Port Vale , Man u etc – any way it was his turn to pick the name – CELTIC he said – then the organiser said we are playing for the FA cup and CELTIC aren’t in it. They are 5 year old for Pete’s sake

I don’t know what I did to deserve being born in 1950, but It allowed me to follow the Lions who were being celebrated today and the young lions of today who are taking up the torch. Sure there have been low points too, but they only serve to make you appreciate days like today. We all know in our hearts too, that it’s only the beginning.
