    Let the other mob deal with the war stuff :-) calm heads and good footballers are needed next Sunday and we have them in abundance, let the hatred mob get the war paint & songs of hatred on the go… Brendan will put a team of footballers on the park (Broony is enough for any of their so-called warriors) the only thing the Sevs have in their favour is the law of averages as they have never beaten Celtic in a game of football that doesn’t have extra time & penalties since they were conceived around 2012

    Marvellous,what the man brought to the game. Think back to the strength and power that he had in the early days,and above all,the flair.

     

     

    Of course,he inherited The Back Four,and the keeper,and he had his own Gift From God in Bergkamp,and allied to his early signings,well,what a team!

     

     

    Now,they’re shameful. And I genuinely think he doesn’t know how to overcome the situation he now finds himself in.

     

     

    For me,the greatest ever manager,bar Jock,was Brian Clough. His reputation was trashed because of the last two years of his reign. Horrible to watch,and he,and AW,both deserve to remembered as better than that.

    He should have stepped down a long time ago so it must be ego that keeps him there. Never, ever sees any wrongdoing by his players, especially when we played them. Fair enough standing up for players but don’t lie about it. Bet Arsenal fans would rather have ‘boring, boring, football’ played uber-defensively under George Graham than the fare delivered by the ‘excuse’ man.

     

     

    Sorry for long post but I’m doing a wee event in work. I’m getting a memorial tree put in a garden in our workplace. Was wondering if anyone knew a suitable poem/tribute that could be read out or alternatively, knows of a local poet who would write one. Free gratis of course :-)

     

     

    It is a dedication for staff who have died and a place to go for a wee quiet moment of reflection. Was thinking of inviting some local religious leaders, parish priest, vicar, Buddhist etc… But don’t know where to start. Thoughts please!

    Aye,I know. I didn’t say he was perfect. But when he got the players playing the way he wanted,it was perfect football.

     

     

    He should be remembered for that. And he will be,in time.

     

     

    Sadly,and correctly,he is being judged by that. He doesn’t have the players for it now. None have the apppetite,what was the score,where’s my wages.

     

     

    I doubt any Arsenal player can be proud of his achievements in that shirt,nor his performance,in,say,the last six years. Maybe Cech. The rest are going through the motions.

    Jim Duffy is a Celt, as a young bhoy was in our youth ranks before actually playing with Morton (I remember him from panini cards like most of my memories) he is on Clyde SSB frequently and comes across as a fitba guy, gives Celtic praise but hopefully like any other fan criticises when due, he was on SSB in Thursday and wanted the game on today as “my players are looking forward to playing the best team in Scotland”

    Lots of critical comments on here today on Mark McGhee’s co-commentary. Some justified but I’d rather we cut him some slack. Mark was a terrific player for us and gave us some great memories and lots of joy.

     

    And another thing……I agree with an earlier comment: for decades I’ve been frustrated by our inability to profit from a shy, the Bear excepted. In fact we seem punished by them. We’d be better taking up a defensive position and simply throwing the ball to the opposition as they always seem to gain possession anyway.

     

    And another thing…..what’s with the short sleeve hoops with a white long sleeve simmit underneath it? Tom Rogic wore this today and I noticed others doing so last week at Aberdeen. We have long sleeve hooped jerseys, so come on Brendan, crack the whip, and protect the hoops

    I didn’t appreciate Mark McGhee the footballer till he wore the hoops, like Walker great Celtic goalscorers but eff all good to say about Celtic (or the fans/supporters)

     

     

    I would have loved to have Mark McGhee years earlier than we signed him but he is no lover of our team (just my opionion) maybe has more of an affinity with Hamburg :-)

    A kind of nervous thing perhaps, that he felt compelled to fill every silence, often with nonsense.

    When they fell out-Taylor took the Derby job,and John Robertson with him-that was it. So sad to see friends fall out. In any walk of life,and certainly to the extent that a certain stubborn Northerner decreed.

     

     

    I lost touch with my bestie mid-90s. We’d both moved around a bit since then,and he phoned me out if the green. His wife had found an old card in the loft,my sis answed,and its like not a day has passed,bar the 20 years in the mirror. I’ll be celebrating St P Day with him in a fortnight.

     

     

    Loada nonsense about keeping your enemies closer still,just keep your friends full stop. And your family? I’ll bet you love yours as much as I love mine.

    I think he made his debut against the huns at Ibrox,but it was on the back of losing three goals against Aberdeen and Dundee Utd. I refused to go to the next game,but I was in charge of the tickets!

     

     

    Long story shortish,phoned a Rangers fan bus,got three. Right behind the goal,Copeland Rd.

     

    Mark swivelled on the D,hit the inside of the post,well,what do you do?

     

     

    I jumped up and went-Where was the defence,Ffs!

     

     

    as my partners in crime just went-N-A-W……..
