  1. I thought the players came out for the second half and played faster paced more direct football for about 15-20 minutes. That has to be down to the half time team talk.

No idea why they lost their way after about 15-20 minutes, but they did and the manager made 2 substitutions.

Unfortunately the substitutions didn’t work and with the wet conditions maybe it was felt that we had to keep our last sub back in case of injury.

For me it was the players today. The guys we had on the pitch should have been able to put in a better performance for the whole game, not just 15 – 20 minute bursts

For a guy who rarely if ever attends games you’ve really got to be winding the rest of us up. Otherwise you surely don’t “support” Celtic.

  3. Delighted with the 3 points.

Still poor fare all the same.

Credit to Thistle, they tried to play football, and deserved something from the game.

I thought Pukki put in a decent shift, unlucky to be subbed imo.

EDB, I personally am not a hurting hun, I’m a hurting tim. I just can’t accept watching this constant struggling against teams who have only a fraction of our resources. Fed up watching players who are paid handsomely being so lackadaisical. It’s insulting to the support. My ST sat on the mantlepiece today, not even my son wanted to use it. I despair for the future. Big YAWN.

  6. Hamiltontim,

Although the game was crap (from us), as it was my first game in ages, I enjoyed it.

Well doneThistle, had a go and didn’t boot everything that moved – their fans are still scum tho.

Maybe another few games with you and I’be suicidal as well -:)))

    Off oot to Wednesday Club

  7. Kojo

Tony Watts off field antics made it virtually impossible for him to be considered as a first team regular.

He is not in exile for nothing.

  8. I told wife and daughter before we left – when you think you’ve got enough layers on… Put on another layer – even that wasn’t enough – freezing – with nothing on the park to warm you up.

Getting amazed at selections now – seems it’s not how well you train or show at training – looks more like you get a turn after others have been dropped – only the switch around for the original players is happening in the same game.

Horrendous conditions – and that was just in the stand.

    Happy New Year all

  9. I just won’t put with any more of these 1-0’s Shoite, I will not be back on here until we give

    up this habit of winning!

    Sick of it!

    Hanging my head in shame!

Just who does Neil Francis Lennon think he is!

    Backward thinking thinking little urchin!

Good mind to give him a piece of MY mind!

Bloody players like Joe Ledely, indeed!

Sick of it, I tell you!

    Off out!

    H.H.

  10. Steinreignedsupreme

Incredibly impressed that you can decide the mood others are in when Celtic win.

Why would any Celtic supporter be unhappy with a win?

Some are certainly not happy with performances.

I never suggested we get Brendan Rodgers as he is obviously out with our reach.

What I did say was a coach with his traits of being able to introduce youth in an attractive and successful footballing side.

I am a Celtic supporter and realistic about our club.

  11. HT, at least you have the beautiful Minx to keep you entertained while you have an early evening drink. The rest of us have to content ourselves taking down and packing away 10 ft Christmas trees while listening to instructions from she who must be obeyed all afternoon.

  12. The Bhoy Saffron67 on

From now until the end of the season I would rather be watching one of the young players putting in a shift than the same players going through the motions week in week out.

  13. Goodnight Tom….

Think my point is being missed.

Turgid football for an unbeaten season to feed Lenny’s ego or take a chance with some young guns and only win the league by 20 points instead of 30 points.

I know what I would want to see.

  14. Another awful performance but 3pts but not a lot else to get excited about.

Disgraceful pre and post match coverage by Radio Clyde, you would think that Celtic were losing games week in and week out, every single negative fact was debated but no mention about a 19 game unbeaten run and our excellent defensive record.

Worst of all was Jim Delahunt asking his fellow pundits “when was the last time Celtic had 3 such joke players?” (Referring to Pukki, Balde, Bangura). Shocking comment.

This hysteria is getting beyond a joke and Neil and the Board have to meet Clyde head on.

Awful, the whole experience today was just dreadful.

You should have been there in Sep 92 when we played Thistle at Parkhead.

    Worse stadium

    Worse team

    Worse manager

    Worse club

    Worse board

    Etc

That truly was a time for tears.

There is more good than bad for us just now. Put your hankies away and count the blessings as a new year starts?

P.s. we got beat 2-1 that day.

  16. Used to love CQN. Was a real go-to place for all things Celtic plus a wee bit of general banter, quizzes and the great musical thoughts of our departed friend Stevie (pablophanque)

The blog one seems a very different place populated recently by a number I’m not sure I’d like to share a pint with and, for me at least, that’s a damn shame. The sheer venom of some of the criticism directed at our players, manager, board and fellow fans is becoming unacceptable for me.

So I think I’ll wish everyone a good 2014 with a wee double for the Hoops and take myself away from the blog for a few weeks.

Would be nice to think we could get back to where we used to be on the blog but am not so sure that can happen.

Thanks to Paul67 and Winning Captains for the blog and the annual. A great production.

  17. NL on Ledley: He’s intimated he’d like to stay so we’re hoping to speak to his representatives this week and get that finalised.

NL on Ledley: I thought he was our best player by a considerable margin today. (LB)

NL on Samaras: He’s a little bit insecure on things so we need to endeavour to get him happy again. I think he would like to stay.

NL on Samaras: Whether we can strike a deal is another thing. As far as I’m aware there’s been interest from other clubs.

Everything mentioned on Clyde has been posted on here by Celtic fans. Make of that what you will.

  19. How many times do Neil Lennon and other managers have to spill the beans about Tony Watt’s poor fitness and lazy, unprofessional attitude before some Celtic fans get it?

If Martin O’Neill was his manager, he would have been hunted before now. At least Lenny has put him out on loan to give him a chance to grow up. Can he not at least be given some credit for that at least? No, it’s all the manager’s fault because a player can’t be bothered to work hard and look after himself.

  20. stringer bell- I take your point mate, but those making comments on here are not professional journalists or broadcasters (well I don’t think they are!)

  22. Nothebus……….. What exactly were Tony Watt’s off-field shennanigans? if it was the young ladies then I’m not surprised for a nineteen year-old with his handsome good looks

  23. Okay first post on here. What’s going on must be a few grumpies on here with hangovers. I was at Paradise today also. Seen worse. Much worse. So we need to freshened up our squad. Natural progression. Relax guys! Happy New Year all Tims!

Happy New Year to Paul and to all on CQN.

Not a regular poster but thought I’d share this – having a great debate (argument maybe) today which started innocently by discussing how valuable Joe Ledley is to us with views ranging from Joe being the best Welsh player to ever play for us to not even the best Welsh player in our squad right now.

Anyway, debate has progressed into trying to agree the best 11 players from any 11 separate countries to have graced the Hoops, with no more than 1 player from each country, including Scotland allowed. Timescale agreed was from Lisbon 67 and some brilliant players inevitably have to be excluded if only 1 per country can be selected.

Henrik unsurprisingly is pretty much a universal pick but there will be a few fall outs before we agree the full team, and even if Henrik is a starter, does he wear the No 7 jersey?

    Any views greatly appreciated.
