  1. Well played Celtic, just what we needed, when both your strikers score it’s a good sign, well played Lenny, the right subs at the right time, onward toward Murderwell, a result there will be just right!!

Good for you. Was a great performance from young Marcus, you wouldn’t know he was half the age of his centre back partner tonight.

Its always a rollercoaster with the hoops

On our day, we can beat any team in the SPL. Just need to make sure everyday is our day.

How much do you reckon that SPL referees’ effect our players attitude ?

    Right tin hat on.

In the 2nd half Big Dan was immense, that’s what we expect from an experienced Swedish international captain, 1st half we was iffy. 3 points on Sunday a must.

Sorry mate, don’t mean to be contrary,m but I thought he was adequate, and did his job. Nothing more, no inspirational leadership, no initiating passages of play, just did his job.

Good enough for me, mind, after some of the don’t watch alone stuff we have had from him.

Glad to see him perform to Tis level tonigh, for half a game at least.

Swiming in Jumllia Crianza tonight, superb stuff. Called Zabrin btw,an Aldi find, no as cheap as chips, cos they are no cheap, this is much cheaper and it’s quality.

Ah well, roll on the weekend, more points to gain and more bobs to win or lose, but hey, win or lose with the betting it’s a buzz.

our players risk serious injury in every game due to refs in spl

they cannot put a foot in most games or risk sending off

Might be that’s all I expect of him, especially with a 17 year old beside him, clear you lines, no fancy stuff and keep a clean sheet. Still think he’s an accident waiting to happen.

  12. Pleased with the result and also pleased that Commons is back in the team, we have missed him. Loved the look on hoopers face when he scored.

Just to add a bit of realism though, I don’t think we are anywhere near the team we should be. We took confidence from the equaliser tonight, but we are still fragile and vulnerable if things dont go our way.

Apart from the defensive issues, I dont understand why we do not attack directly anymore. Everytime we win possession, we pass back or sideways almost every time – very predictable and boring. The second goal was route 1 with a Sammy knockdown, hopefully we learn from this.

We also need to get the players more fired up before games to stop giving silly goals away in the first 5 mins.

    Lubo.

no problem, a five man midfield including joe, wanyama and kayal is a must against the mothers.

  14. Great result, fantastic performance, tactics spot on etc. But spare a thought for poor Craig Burley tonight. He didn’t sound like his usually chirpy self tonight. What’s the matter Craig? Is something wrong? Cat got yer tongue!?

  15. Confidence. That’s what we got tonight, the manager and the team (and us).

No big changes on sunday please, Joe-aye, Ki-naw, dirty game and I expect our defence will be targeted for speshul treatment from alistairs wee mate.

    Night, night, and TimGhod bless.

  16. Great result for Celtic tonight. Rennes took the game to us tonight, playing a high defensive line with space for us to exploit. We won’t see much of that in the SPL.

Good to see Celtic closing down in pairs tonight – gained quite a bit of possession from this.

Saw the best and worst of Beram. His harrying and closing down of the opposition was top notch, however his distribution of the ball out of defence put us in trouble quite a few times.

Wanyama did very well indeed, very strong fellow which is what’s required in the SPL.

Sammi did great also. Am I right in thinking he played hoops in for the 3rd goal?

Paddy – still the one player who gets me out of my seat when he’s on the ball. If he had genuine pace he’d be world class.

Forster – few dodgy moment but otherwise did well.

James F – unplayable at times. A first pick for me for the rest of the season.

Cha – didn’t seem to get forward so much tonight, maybe team orders. Did well otherwise.

Loovens – was he playing? If he was he had a quiet night. No bad thing.

Big Dan – didn’t do too much wrong tonight.

Stokes – great shift. Was none too confident when he shaped to shoot at the second goal but he took it with aplomb.

    Matthews – decent again tonight.

Hoops – did nothing tonight … except score.

Commons – needs to work on his ball retention. Needs to be scoring regularly otherwise McCourt should get the nod.

Big improvement from Celtic tonight but more improvement required and we might have a chance of going on a wee winning streak.

  17. Missed our first goal as the stream on uefa.com froze. That was the first time it froze all night

Missed our second goal as it froze again for the second and last time of the evening

Missed our last goal as someone wanted a cheque signed

It’s a pity i wasn’t interrupted more or we could have run amok.

What I did see I liked, especially Sammi, Kayal and Victor. No failures anywhere , and Neil got his tactics spot on……not for the first time in Europe this season.

  18. That’s some laugh reading some of the comments earlier today. “No Sammy in a Celtic shirt”. “Stokes not capable at this level”. Blah blah blah..

Take a bow Sammy. 2 outstanding assists leading to 2 goals, excellent play from the big fella and hopefully more of us can acknowledge his workrate and give the big guy a break.

Stokes, another 100% effort, and excellent game. One of the sparks in the team that will keep that fire lit.

Kayal, went out tonight to show he was serious. What a difference, and great to see the battle back in him.

Big shout out to the young lhad Fraser(?) – to be dropped into CH like that is serious pressure. He coped nae bother.

Whole team worthy of praise tonight.

Support and the GB were outstanding. From the off fighting a turgid atmoshphere, but they kept it up which eventually fed through to the players and when they responded it fed back to the support… the longer that game went on, the more it was the way Celtic Park should always be. That’s what you call breathing life into a stadium.

Most of all. Well done Lenny, Thommo, Dolph and the rest. There’s movement in the skies again :)

Highlight for me was Sammy. Created 2 goals for us, (but still looked disapointed with himself at the end:( Time for the support to get behind the big fella – if we do, he might release Shaun Maloney from his beard. Oh, and another goal from Hoops – 2 goals in two games. These wee things matter. The confidence is back, that’s all that was missing.
