Just back from the game, Vic and Sammy to start on sunday, well done to Big Dan and Kayal for guiding and encouraging Marcus throughout the 2nd half. Just cut out the early goals!!!!!
Commons – Best substitution yet, he came on and blocked their free kick with his huge back side, knew it would be useful for something ! Seemed to win every change and interception he went for, old commons I hope is back
Agree, that was a real concern early on. Thankfully we gave them few chances afterwards to expose that weakness, but it was very worrying. Sort out the wee issues in the defence of high balls and we’re right back on track.

Official attendance 28,587. Bit disappointing but better 28,578 supporting their teams than the moaning minnies who turn up for a Saturday league game. Great atmpsphere, courtesy of the Green Brigade and the Rennes supporters who seemed to get into the spitit of the occasion.
There was a female steward in 111 a few years back that constantly gave the GB trouble over the most trivial of things, got more than a few lifted i was told, she had UVF jewellery around her kneck plain as day for all to see, she’s still at CP I hear.

The Honest Cover-up on
After hearing burley on ESPN tonight I really think he should give up commentating on Celtic games for the sake of his mental health.
I have never heard an ex-player of a club, especially ours, be so bitter towards a team.
It must break his heart to know that he played an important part in “stopping the ten”. That’s something he’ll never be able to reverse!
We all know he had an acrimonious departure, but you’d think his grudge would be reserved for Barnes and the board at the time. Not the current team and certainly not the fans who were always very good to him. It’s a shame really. You have to pity anyone who carries that much bitterness in their heart.

Well done the night bhoys. Great fighting spirit following head in hands start.
Lesson learned tonight, stokesy can be trusted to deliver.
Please please please build on this on Sunday and let’s start pulling them in.

should also mention that of the 28,587, there was still about 25k+ still there at full time, no mass exodus with 5, 10, 15 minutes to go
Savour that one. We won the first half and the second half of a game in Europe.

The wee tory scored a cracker v thems and we won the league. Help stopT them doin ten in a row. So ive always had soft spot for him. Its the tory thing that annoys me!!
Sammy doesn’t “dip”. He works his rear end off but needs the rest around him to be doing the same. Every game he plays he provides assists the same as those that led to the two goals tonight.
Sammi could be a great Centre Half…brilliant in the air and decent tackler…thought he showed what anybody who knows anything about football already knows – the most technically gifted player in the squad…by a distance. Both assists were superb but the precision and weight of the pass to Hooper was top drawer…
yet..applying my 2 season rule he should be on his way…but there are exceptions to every rule.
I could scroll back to identify the doubters from earlier today when I predicted he would stand out..but I’m too charitable to do so tonight.
Sammi is the Mhan when played in midfield

Funny that, i am sure he will return at the first poor result
And the rest of the bunch didnae do too badly either.
Samitastic !
Hooper came off the bench to reprise a great goal from the recent past.
Stokes (who I used to think didn’t try too hard) is now the roll up the sleeves guy.
James Forrest is raw, talented, and, fingers crossed, getting better, yeeeeha…..
Wanyama. Put him down first on the team sheet. He tries, he tackles, he don’t give up.
Kayal……putting in a great shift again….the fans appreciate this.
Paddy…Paddy is Paddy and is always a likely gamechanger.
Neil has had to shuffle the selection so much that it has become hard to make sense of the team sometimes.
Tonight was great, the troops tried and the crowd got behind them.
Carry it on to the weekend, lads, please.

Sammi my MOTM, guy was shattered towards the end with the amount of effort he put in.
Fantastic result against a useful side, better than anything in the SPL.
Well done NL and the whole team.

Were you there tonight…from TV (to my eye) Vic looked steady, superb in breaking play but not IMO technically gifted. Hving said that I always enjoyed watching Lenny at Celtic but didn’t notice him so much on TV..just wondering?
I like Sammi and think he’s a good football player, but I don’t think he can play in a position he’s asked to, he’s a flair player who likes to wander, he’s frustrating but skillfull and I like him, but until he learns some football brains then he’s a bench player…. IMO
That was a nice part of the result. The young lhad did very well…cannae imagine the pressure in a situation like that, but he showed none. Delighted to see him play what was a crucial role.

That Sammi & Paddy were a waste of space.
That our defence couldn’t keep hens out of a midden.
What are they saying tonight ?
Same again on Sunday.
That you can’t improve on perfection.

Cultsbhoy, Victor Wanyama well ……. he played like a wee terrier, he only misplaced (I think) 2 passes and ran himself into the ground, not a Maestro but more of a workhorse type of important midfielder, sometimes we have too many flair players amigos, no?

Just in from game – great result!
MOTM – attitude and work rate.
Apart from our shakey start – we got into the game the longer it went. Who knows but maybe Sammi’s application – defending, easing the pressure and 2 assists rubbed off on his Team mates.
Special mention for the very young – Mathews (who uses his left foot for standing on), Marcus who slotted in and showed composure and Victor who has the making of a very good player (can see him causing damage once he sharpens up his shooting).
Hopefully this result gets us back on track on Sunday.
