    Anyhoo….

Good performance today eh,, never knew Burke could run like a hare, boy is that bhoy fast. And it was good to see the real slim Sinky stand up and give us a little glimpse of the first season Sinky again.

2 yrs since Broonie last scored for us, twas worth waiting for, looked like a 25 yarder at the time but by the time I got home it was well over 30yrds.

O and it was good to see Jonny finally arrive.

    H.H

  2. Brilliant today, St Johnstone put so much effort into getting a result the first 2 games they had nothing left to give.

Word of caution, we were just as good against Kilmarnock at home then shocking at Easter Road and ibrox.

The signs are good but can we produce when its tighter and a battle?

Wins at Kilmarnock and Hearts and I’ll be able to relax and 8 will be within touching distance.

All good here watching Sportscene with MissGFTB she is raging that her favourite player Scott Sinclair (because he is married to Rosie Webster) scored a hat trick today and didn’t score on Wednesday as she was at her first real game during the week… quite funny watching her tell her mum where her seat was as every first half goal went in

  7. Noticed that the dud that was Pukki just scored another brace tae take the Canaries tae the top of the Championship.

*Same here FU, we had ours 18 months ago and came back hame tae where we started out with our own weans/adults, nae grandweans or inlaws, we based ourselves on the bonnie banks but toured the likes of Glencoe and Culloden and finished it off in the mother country visiting Dublin and Connemara.

This mineshafter isnae and is walking about grinning like a Chesire cat.

Purposeless possession that produced few goals or shots has been replaced with dynamic free flowing football that produces plenty of shots, goals and entertainment.

The new boys have lit the fire.

Well played, Brendan and the Bhoys.

Superb, imperious performance today. Just great to watch. When we play like that we rip the spirit out of teams.

The Captain’s screamer must have been like a dagger to the heart of them, although fair play, they did try to come back. But that 1-2 early in the second half killed them.

No bad performances today, and that was us in second gear for most of the game.

Absolutely delighted for Jonny Hayes – thought he came on to a great game. Delighted too for Scotty S.

Only clouds on a sunny Tim day was Scots Olly – superb display till he got a bad one on what looked like his his Achilles, well played, referee – and concerned that both French Ollie and Simo both retired apparently with a sickness bug.

We don’t want a sickness bug. Unless we get to share it with Valencia.

When all of our players get back, what a proposition we will be.

Happy Tim in Oslo off to open a bottle of nice Fleurie, drink it, and fantasise that our loan players are all on 5-year contracts.

  11. TONTINE TIM

Pukki could have been called Pudgie when he played for us.

He had some moments at Celtic but lacked fitness and belief.

He has both in abundance now.

  12. Dearie me, its like a kindergarten play ground on here sometimes (well mostly always). Today the happy clappers, AKA ‘Lawell’s sycophants’ are in the ascendancy gloatingly posting how all is well and fine at planet Celtic. The mine shafters AKA ‘The panty wetter’s’ are strangely conspicuous in their absence with not a down beat / negative post to be read. Ermmm most perplexing and most unlike CQN — stop it at once.

The sooner normal name calling and petty bickering is resumed he better. The fence sitters are most definitely perplexed :-)

  13. Scrolling back, The Matt Stewart poem was awesome deserves a wider audience.

Re the Fitbaw Valencia is a shot to nothing if we go through then great but if we go out we can console ourselves with the thought no European Competition will allow us to concentrate on the Treble Treble.

Great and all as Seville was I’m still haunted about losing that League.

So I will sit back & hopefully enjoy the 2 Valencia games & not worry whether we win or lose, Well that’s the way I feel now but come match time I have a feeling I might be having second thoughts.

  15. By Pukki’s own admission he wasnt fit enough or in the right frame of mind when he played for Celtic

Whilst Europe is good, the league is definitely the one we want and a SC win would be great too.

  18. Corkcelt 7.01pm

Jim Duffy & Paul Hartley were on radio Scotland covering our game today, Paul Hartley signed Scott Bain for Alloa when he was released by Aberdeen, Scottt played part time for Alloa but was a bricklayer by trade, the last goalie we had who worked part time bricklayer / labourer got us to Seville … by the way for me I think Craig Gordon is the better goalkeeper but whoever pulls on a Celtic jersey gets my backing and I think Scott Bain could be our number 1 for many years, after Craig hangs up his gloves, growing up I was never used to Celtic having good goalkeepers since Artur Boruc it’s been one of our strongest positions

Pukki came to us at the wrong time unfortunately . Brendan would have got him in the right physical and psychological shape.

  21. The hands cant hit what the eyes cant see on

Good performance and win today. Ntcham and Edouard back on the bench in time for the tie on Thursday.

I wonder what our staring 11 and bench will look like if we have all players fit and available.

I think the back 5 is probably the are of the pitch that is fairly settled: Bain, Toljan, Tierney, Benkovic and Boyata.

However, the remaining six really are up in the air. What happens when Bayo, Edouard, Rogic and Ntcham are all up to speed? We also have Griff to consider.

Interesting times ahead and for the first time this season, proper competition in the squad.

  22. GFTB, Both Gordon & Bain are top class Keepers but Bain is better with his feet. That is the way Brendan wants the team to play and to be honest since Bain got the jersey my heart isn’t in my mouth so much when we are passing it around our own box. Rab was a brickie OK but just a very average keeper, IMO had we a good keeper in Seville we would have won.

Anyways that is history, the only history I’m interested in now is the history we can make this year.

    Good Evening folks

I hoop you all had a scintillating day and indeed you would have done if you had been to Paradise as the Celts strolled through the day with the “treble-treble” very much in our grasp

Onto Goals Galore and the lead narrows at the top, with probably the winner now coming from the top 4, but you never know. If you have not bought that additional joker then Nest Saturday 3pm is your deadline to buy. If you have still to pay for your entry fee and/or additional joker please ensure you pay asap to allow us to declare the funds raised and indeed prize monies.

My only grief with Martin O’Neil was he never sorted out the goalie issue, I just mentioned Seville in relation to big Rab & Scott Bain being similar as in working before football … I know a few bhoys that played against big Rab when he played for Syminington Tinto and he is a big honest guy, but totally agree Craig Gordon & Scott Bain are two terrific goalies and in my view are perfect for Celtic both have had different issues but feel at home at Celtic Park … good enough for me :-)!

  25. Just popped in to say, a phenominal performance and result from the bhoys today. We will take some stoppng again this season. Just popping out again. Byeeeeeee HH

  26. I posted the other day that our pace and movement was creating a lot and with better finishing we would score more.

Although we did score more today i still think there is room for improvement in the final third.

Someone is really going to take a real doing..

SID posted earlier that we had had played mostly home games since the break and away games to Hearts and Kilmarnock will be tough.

This is true but i also think it will be harder for them than previous games to get a result as we are more fluid and potent.

Our old one dimensional slow paced side to side football was not difficult to defend against.
