Christie transfer breaking all Celtic moulds

538

Celtic’s £500k signing on Inverness attacking midfield player, Ryan Christie (20) is unlike any I have known. The player will remain on loan at Inverness for the rest of the season, a nod to the fact that the Highlanders have been good for his development and first team opportunities would be more limited at Celtic.

He’s a talented player who fits the criteria and we have the money available to bring him in. There’s something of a crop around the same age being acquired. More on this at a later date.

Welcome to Celtic, Ryan.

  1. BOURNESOUPRECIPE, 6:09 PM

A light shone in the night somewhere ahead

Blue turned into Green, then it was Red.

And, stirring the night, loud music played

The light I saw in the night was a penny arcade

Good to see you too :)

You know I love a transfer deadline day!

I’m going to cautiously (I’ve been burned before) suggest that people don’t worry about Simunovic. As I understand it he’s going through some kind of hearing which is considered to be a formality.

  3. Assets recovered from a fraudulent transaction would be returned to their owner, where possible.

The owner was Craig Whyte, although effectively held in trust by the administrator, however if he perpetrated the fraud then the assets are in limbo and all heaven/hell breaks loose.

If however Sevco 5088 was shafted by Sevco Scotland as he claims then potentially Craigy’s in the clear, inadvertently. He may have had intention to perpetrate skulduggery of course but if not proven then could claim the Sevco 5088 deal was legit and claim the assets, the jelly and the ice cream. This is the Bobby Ewing shower scene for the SFA.

D&P were of course involved in both, hence Whitehosue being arrested. Not Clarke funnily enough. Is Clarke singing like a canary??

Now of course the IPO followed on, on these assets. This escalates any alleged crime to something almost incomprehensible and would see very wrinkled big hands clutching iron bars.

So, Law Financial may make a claim as Sevco 5088s parent. BDO may make a claim as they should be returned to the insolvency process. The shareholders of the IPO may make a claim as a legitimate investment in assets free from encumbrance. Wavetower or Garigy’s dad may produce a security. The Queens and Lord Treasurer’s Remembrancer waits and wonders if the windfall is coming their way.

If on initial assessment there’s validity in any of these then the assets may be under lock and key for some time.

    Or everything’s fine.

  4. Joe Filippis Haircut on

As it is now past 6pm does that mean no other players will be leaving Celtic in this window ? H.H.

  5. Yeah….looks like the big Yorkshireman will be taking the rap.

    Hope so.

Love to see him in handcuffs.

Send him to Guantanamo via Devil’s Island.

    Chain him to a rock.

  6. Do signings only excite us if they are done last day, last minute?

In this window we have signed in no particular order:

    Ciftci,

    Allan,

    Blackett,

    Bailly,

    Christie,

Simunovic, although some still doubt this and it wont be confirmed till later.

    Janko, I nearly forgot him.

    Anyone else I’ve missed?

Is it the same magic ones he sold to the dead team fans?

Will we hear courtroom tales of Charlie and the beanstalk?

Will Charlie be portrayed as the big bad English giant?

Fee fie fo fum, I smell the blood of a big handed Yorkshire mun.

  14. i heard…

We seem to be signing a lot of these nice spoken polite young guys, like Ryan and Stuart et al, is that just to balance up the bhoys fae Fife an Embra?

  15. ELLBOY @ 5:48 PM,

“6 hours left to come out the window stronger than we went in?”

Don’t like to be cynical and haven’t done the maths but we’ve let players go that we paid about £15M for, with little return. Okay most of these players failed but it was money we spent and haven’t recouped.

We have also sold our best player, with no chance of getting a player close to his calibre in, that’s in any position. While his partner from last season, albeit a loanee, couldn’t be replaced.

So apart from loosing a plethora of players at a loss, our best performing defenders.

The likes of Adam Matthews, an established first team regular.

Then there is the likes of Pukki, where we got a bit back.

So that’s £15million of sales out.

That’s £15 Million of misspent money gone.

And so far we have spent less than £2.5Million of talent in…

We are going to be much weaker.

The players we have managed to ship, and those we have loaned have ensured we have a small manageable squad. So for me, that’s a success.

We have a very different squad. 15m pound of underachievers gone. 15m pound of achievers gone.

    2.5m pound of potential in…

Hope we are productive in the next 4.5 hours…

    Hail Hail

  16. BBC Scotland has learned that the former Rangers chief executive Charles Green has been charged by Police Scotland and will appear in private at Glasgow Sherriff Court tomorrow morning.

He was detained by officers this morning investigating an alleged scheme to acquire the club fraudulently in 2011.

2011? The year before he bought ‘the Assets’?

  17. Joe Filippis Haircut on

ELLBHOY. How do you know that our next big money player is not one of the group we have just signed ? Without a crystal ball there is no way we can tell. H.H.

  19. Interested to read Islam Feruz’s statement on joining Hibs:

Feruz said: “I am excited to be coming back to Scotland and get some first-team football under my belt.

“Hibs have a good young team and I’ve played with a number of the boys before with the national team.

“The manager has shown faith me and I’m looking forward to repaying it by giving 100 per cent when I’m selected.”

Seems he has not learned much since he left us to become the next Chelsea superstar..
