Clear rule required on storms

Although I believe it was the rain which caused the cancellation of today’s game it was the storm which caused me most concern. Football should not be played when a storm strong enough to cause structural damage is expected. Any building can be affected by a storm. While there is a tiny chance that any football stadium will be damaged, the consequences of a roof part landing on a packed stand would be severe.

There should be a clear rule on this.

The Foundation Christmas Appeal bucket collection has been postponed for two weeks. This is a critical period for all of the agencies who were due to receive funds from this appeal, I know the Foundation are working with them in the interim period. Today’s attendance would probably have been low due to the conditions, so hopefully the delay will raise more money than we would have raised had today’s game gone ahead.

    Brilliant emotional stuff.

     

    Watched the first half in an old local which, midweek , downstairs was a bit of a Hun pub. I only realised how much when Porto scored. Went to another local and watched in disbelief the second half.. So, so close were it not for cheats and easily influenced official as. It was ever thus.

    Clunks, went via Amsterdam and stayed in Torremilinos. On my own. Met many friends. Got drunk, missed flight….even after spending €200 on a taxi to catch flight fae Malaga. £180 quid standby the next day after booking back into hotel again.

     

     

    Would do it all again…if I had the cash…

    Clunks, was all ready to go to Seville. Me and my big Andytown mate. Eleven hunner bangers for the two tickets (nae flight tickets by the way) Got gazumped at the last minute. God only knows what that guy paid for those tickets! Me and my pal watched it in the lounges at CP. Cried our eyes out at full time.

    Roddy Mac Corleys club in Belfast with da and best mate. Soo upset hit the red aftershocks, even my oul fella. Staggered to the kelstar chippy and had a ding dong with the mate because he needed to read the menu,,I mean surely you know what’s on the menu at a chippy,,its the same in all chippies. Took him about a half hour to order,,just stood and stared at menu board. Then orders a battered sausage to eat while hes deciding on his main course. Still don’t understand. Never watched it again and never will,,derlei the wee bassa was under orders and knew exactly what he was doing. Woke up on sofa with my head in a half finished fish supper,,rush to work feeling like crap to face the smiling hun boss. The results on the way to Seville gave me such pride . ESPN had us ranked as the eighth best team in the world that season. That was the season ive felt the most connected to the club we love. We were all together,,united and strong. Hopefully we are again someday. Hail Hail

    When I`m over I meet up with Roisin Doc, sister of one of the ten heroes Kevin. Great club it is. Sometimes go in to that ManUre bar on the Falls just to wind them up (being an Arsenal fan myself!)
