Cliftonville for Celtic in Champions League qualifier

691

The opposition may be less-illustrious than Juventus. our last European opponents, but the importance of next month’s Champions League second qualifying round games against Cliftonville still got the pulse beating.

It is a good draw for Celtic, who are spared travel and associated challenges.

The first leg, at Celtic Park, will take place on 16 or 17 July with return in Belfast on 23 or 24 July. Don’t book travel until dates are confirmed.

Thanks. Saw enough of the Reds last season to have a slight Artmedia feeling about playing at the Solitude First.

    For what it’s worth .——

Napoli media outlets have claimed that Napoli will terminate his loan at Gremio if /when Cavani leaves Napoli ..

Speaking of Cavani —— long accused of being utterly uninterested in playing for Uruguay , his performances in the Confederations Cup are adding more fuel to that fire .

Italian TV man said this ——-

” 3 big clubs are willing to pay a minimum of 63 million euros for Cavani , on this performance I wouldn’t pay 63 thousand “

Not bad. Got a copy of ot letter Saturday. Work won’t be happy they sent me as it may have backfired on them.

  9. Don’t understand whats going on with Vic , he says he wants to play in EPL he gets a platform with Southampton and then he knocks back the wages, is it posturing for more money or are things going to get interesting from a transfer perspective. If he goes for £12.5m to say Southampton then is sold for less say £10m do we still get the sell on clause amount or how does that work anyone? Like I hear Hamilton Accies have a 20% for McCarthy so if he goes to Arsenal for £20m Accies get £4m kerching for them!!!

  12. HT thanks much appreciated , not much has changed but all the people have moved on. I was at a 20 year anniversary of a football team i played for and it was weird meeting people again after so long but was a good night Alan Rough was the speaker , very funny he was to. I began to feel old when i was taking the nephew to play for his team and two of the fathers had played for my football team 23 years ago.

BT Jilts and Courtyard bring back memories, I used to work in Hardies behind the bar in my student days. Will bear in mind the grapes and sausages!!!

Think that game featured one of the worst Celtic performances I’ve ever witnessed.

Several of the players looked fat and unfit . Balde and Varga were dire . McGeady missed a sitter . The freak injury to Sutton etc .

    A dreadful night.

It was as bad as any I had seen up to that point – couldn’t believe what was happening. Clyde 5 1/2 months later was even worse.

    McFadden or Paddy?

    Paddy.

    A much More Skillful player.

But, Paddy, was found wanting, and is now gone.

We let Paddy go and then talk about McFadden, surely not .A lot of talk on here about 20% sell on transfer fees, the 20% would only be on the difference in future transfers ie,sell for 10m then future transferred for 20m the 20% would be on the difference £10m.

*Harry Hood turned us doon for Sunderland

  21. Fanadpatriot i was thinking that might be the way it worked, would be better if he went to a Southampton then if he was playing well &/ or they got relegated he would be in the James McCarthy type situation. I think if he was sold on then we could be looking at a nice chunk of cash. Will be sorry to see big viv go and paddy too but he has to move for his career, look at McGinn how well he has done. I think McFadden could do a job once he’s had a good pre season and apart from Commons no one has shown the same lock picking traits.

  22. Neil’s Next move in the Transfer Market must be the capture of
