Cliftonville for Celtic in Champions League qualifier

691

The opposition may be less-illustrious than Juventus. our last European opponents, but the importance of next month’s Champions League second qualifying round games against Cliftonville still got the pulse beating.

It is a good draw for Celtic, who are spared travel and associated challenges.

The first leg, at Celtic Park, will take place on 16 or 17 July with return in Belfast on 23 or 24 July. Don’t book travel until dates are confirmed.

  1. Auldheid/BHRT,

Thinking of turning away from Charlotte’s revelations stick to official investigations, EBT and LNS. No point in going to all this effort to be dismissed as hearsay and not responding to rumour.

Corkcelt – I know chief.Casement Park would have been the ideal venue.

But sure, the return leg at Paradise should be great spectacle as well.

They will bring over a good support for a party.

Should be funny hearing two different sets of footballer supporters singing the same songs. :)

  3. Four Green Fields – a celtic weekend saw it advertised in Wee Mans Pub last day of the season

  4. Fgf..

Details sketchy but a music festival is being mentioned.

I’ll let you know more when I do

  5. STV Sports Headlines:

    A.Murray

    Alan Johnstone new Killie manager.

    Sevco new signing.

  6. Just read back. Amazed Cliftonville have opted to play the tie at Solitude. A competitive match involving Celtic in Ireland would have got 35-40k at least into the Aiva. A gate like that could set the reds up for the next 5-10 years.

North Belfast in July then, should be fun. No doubt the Orange Lodges are filling out last minute applications to March all over North Belfast for the day of the match…

  7. Can’t believe STV news we are third in the news bulletins after kilmarnock and newco signings wtf!!!

  8. 16 Roads, I have just read that the Cliftonville Board are meeting tomorrow night to DECIDE on a venue. Is this another Wanyama story, who is on the ball with the correct story here.

    ————————————-

What exactly does that post mean ?

I happen to have been in front of Celtic Park when Anthony Stokes signed for Celtic.

He mingled with the fans & particularly spent time with a wheel chaired supporter.

Maybe I misunderstand what Jude is saying.

    I hope so.

  11. Good draw for the Tic and all concerned about football being a spectator sport where the fans can have a party.I am sure it will live long in the memory of those attending (devestated I cant make it) for manys a year.

Corkcelt – I hope they do find a more suitable venue to stage the game, but yer man was on the radio an hour ago,and he sounded fairly adament that it will take place at Solitude.
