I was pleased Ronny Deila fronted up for the press conference yesterday. He didn’t say anything particularly revealing but it was reassuring that the pressure of the last week hasn’t seen him hide from searching questions.
Mention of clear the air talks at Lennoxtown was welcome. It lets us know that the fans are not the only ones who believe the ‘air’ hasn’t been right recently. It will also, hopefully, have given anyone harbouring a grievance to get it out.
One of the manager’s biggest decisions for Sunday is who to trust in midfield. He needs players who will respond to the circumstances, and who can open what will be a packed defence. Guys who have been over the ground before, who know how to dig deep in the face of adversity, are also required. For me that means a start for Kris Commons.

STARRY PLOUGH
Great player though young Tierney is I miss Izzy and sometimes I think the team does too as a constant outball and a player who puts the opposing midfielder on the back foot..
———————————————————————————
Izzy was always a better attacker than defender and I’ve often wondered why we’ve never tried him wide left of midfield. He can beat a man better than most we have and while his crossing can be inconsistent, the added bonus would be he’d be better at the tracking back than any of the current permutations of three we have behind Griffiths.

He said i could join the club….but still take the p***
Cannot pass up an opportunity like that:)

an ignoramus answer would be :- They circle the wagons, then speak with forked tongue.
Ronny must break the Firewater clique.
HH to you.
Kris Commons turn now? When he gave Collins both barrels,I would guess 80% of the support were behind him. Get him in the team.
Anti pope stuff now. This forum has gone downhill so badly.
Aye a Christian on the seat of Rome whodathunk
Some of the Anti commons shit on here is ridiculous, been our best player for years,if i had been treated the same way he has by that cockroach manager, I would have kicked deilas head in,some of the teams being picked online are more crazy than the managers picks,we should be able to pick a slightly weakend side, but where we are just now,we need our strongest available team

I hope you don’t eat Easter Eggs ???? Yum, yum.
One of the biggest decisions is who to trust in midfield? That has been a decision that he has struggled with all season. I have lost count of the permutations he has tried in the “three”. Does this give you faith?
So your recommendation, Paul, is that he should return Commons? The player he dropped when he arrived, despite his goal scoring record; the player he disciplined after he correctly critiqued the coach’s inept tactics in Europe?
As TBB said, what a pretty pass we have come to when we are nervous about a home tie against a lower division team.
What a disgusting mess this is.
Rebus
Many will say this is no time for a gamble bit perhaps the answer to our left midfield issue is. … Emilio.
Play him in front of keiron. .. he can track back and has the ability to get forward and cross from that side …. without worrying about being caught 50m out of position
TBB
” The palpable anxiety over a cup tie versus Morton frames where we are as a club at the moment.”
I would say it `frames` where we are as a support at the moment.
JJ
PS I hope this does not start a `Same Club Different Support` argument 0:-)
would not play rogic and bitton at same time, both to slow. imo.

Not wishing to be theological about it,but since Christianity has only existed for a small timescale and only includes a minority of Mankind anyway, then Heaven if it exists must be open to others.
let me know if you get in,I’ll weigh up my options after that(!)

Izzy is unlikely to be match-fit and I wouldn’t want him used as a whipping-bhoy because of it. Good idea though.
Just been talking to a good friend, who was there on Wednesday night. We ended up talking about Commons. Anthony said quite spontaneously exactly what those round me at Celtic Park were saying a while back “he has passed his sell by date”. He has. He shouldn’t be allowed near a Celtic jersey. He has been very poor all season.
Anthony also said something I said on here recently “Play the young bhoys on Sunday”. Couldn’t agree more. They at least will give their all; not like too many of the too well paid “professionals” currently not performing in the 1st team.
The only exception I would make is to give young KT a rest. Izzagguire always gives his all, limited as that has become.
By the bye, BBC Scotland Sports Department has gone into overdrive the last couple of days. Scum the lot of them. (Sorry Michael Stewart, although you’re not really part of the Department.)

Why does Scott Allen not feature more.
Purely speculation on my part , but I wonder if there is some sort of ” complication ” or something in his type 1 diabetes treatment that is curtailing his playing time.
I do not think it’s his ability or commitment. And I also know that he has the best possible mentor.
As I said purely speculation as I am at a loss for reasoning.

KT will be a great player for Celtic in the future.
But for me Izzy should be playing offers much more going forward imo.

Izzy is the natural choice for our problem left wing position, he is great at getting forward and getting balls into the box.
Its seems such an obvious player too fill such a problematic position….

You are in mate…no question.
Its up to yourself…but the Pope has given the OK…so, i’ll be there:)
Wooft, i bet you i get a right few stares and growls off the locals when i get there.

As it was St David’s Day on Tuesday can I take it that the orange unwashed defenders will be gracing us with their presence in Glasgow City centre tomorrow ?
Seems only fair since they want to celebrate St Patrick’s Day with us.

Has anybody asked Michael Stewart’s opinion on the “the first rangers died and this is new one ” question yet ?
Given that he usually talks a lot of sense I would be interested to know his opinion.

Humour…Thats a good tonic, and its needed.
Its natural…told you about the time i went with my brother to see a certain musician, who happened to be a pal of his.
Went to the gig…the musician played beautifully, afterwards we went for some grub, my bro was delighted to see his mate etc.
They asked me what i thought of the gig….and i said to the genius musician, feck, i thought i was good:)
Bro wasnt amused:)

Greenpinta,,
Unfortunately the answer is ……………….. the Manager! I have no idea why he bought him as he obviously does not trust him. The pass he completed within seconds of coming on v. Ajax, the effect (along with Christie) he had against ICT – WE can see he is a footballer and we are crying out for someone with some invention in the middle of the park who won’t automatically (is it the coaching?) play back or square. But the Manager doesn’t agree!
JJHS
Jim..What are you on about mate:)
