Contingency party arrangements

831

Those of you with a ticket for Sunday can wish for an Aberdeen win tonight all you like, but be ready with contingency party arrangements, just in case. I know it’s six-in-a-row, I know this isn’t 1998, the towns and villages of Lanarkshire will not be adorned in green and white, but don’t switch your phone on after leaving a cinema tonight to hear than an hour earlier Celtic became Premiership champions, season 2016-17.

Winning the title without watching Celtic play is far from ideal. Winning the title away from Celtic Park has always involved more stress than I thought is absolutely necessary, but I’m as excited today as any of you will be with your match tickets in hand on Sunday morning.

In 10 hours we could be champions again! Get ready for it.

Wee Shay’s Green Army

Lennybhoy and TommyTwistsTommyTurns are looking for volunteers to distribute fliers for Wee Shay’s Green Army Raffle (which will be drawn on Thursday 25th May 2017 at Celtic Park).

They are looking for volunteers to distribute fliers advertising the raffle ahead of the Partick Thistle game at Celtic Park on 5 April. If anyone can help, please email walkwithshay@yahoo.com .

Thank you.

Enjoy yourself tonight, I have a feeling……….

Sorry to hear that buddy but going on experience of my x take everything they feel is necessary. She fought and won with the help of oncologist at The Beatson. Radiotherapy in the head area is not pleasant given the mask and being fixed in position. Very clostraphbic was my x’s worst memory of her treatment. But radio therapy is so focused on the area they are treating that it’s worth the risk in my humble opinion.

Thing to remember though is that it is her cancer and it’s her decision. All you can do is back any decision she makes whether you agree or not.

BTW. I don’t get on with my x but I’m glad she’s still around for my son.

  2. I met ‘Derek’ in a Glasgow nightclub many years ago.

It was great that he got to understand the Tims :-)

  3. JFH, Radiotherapy is generally no great problem at all, after a couple of weeks you can feel tired and maybe the skin can get a bit “sun burned” but it’s not invasive and does not have bad side effects like Chemo..

It’s often offered as we say in Ireland “To be sure to be sure” & generally the recommendation would be to take it, however I’m sure there will be plenty of more qualified people to advise you.

Best of Luck to both of ye but being offered radiotherapy at this stage is nothing to worry about.

With 8 games left the maximum Aberdeen can get is 85 pts. Celtic currently have 83.

Win at Tynecastle Celtic are 6 in a row. Draw or lose we need to wait another game.

Victor Meldrew was used by work colleagues for a good while when that show was popular!

  7. JFH,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife. It was great to hear from TD67 today stating that the Celtic family , particularly the CQN family had helped him in his sad hours.

I sincerely hope that this can be the same for you and yours.

Slightly off topic; I was at a funeral at Lourdes ( ( Cardonald) last week , and I was so taken by the empathy and affinity the family had with the church. It was obviously a great source of comfort.

Sitting at the tables and listening to family and friends, I so wished i had that faith and belief. I do believe and I do pray, but i just don’t have that level of dedication.

Nevertheless JFH,I truely hope my thoughts and prayers are heard in the bigger picture.

    HH to you JFH.

Off to watch TFC’s first home game of the season tonight … maybe not the same as watching the bhoys, but still looking forward to it.

    Have a good night everyone.

  9. PETEC,

Agree. I’d be surprised if heI’ve done this summer. I thought the player linked in the article was interesting. Saw him make him a substitute appearance first Rostov against Man Utd.

  10. BEATBHOY,

I was there in the 90’s. I was even there at the Celtic v Rangers game on the 3rd of January 1996. My daughter was born on the 4th.

    HH to you.

Thanks but we are going to win right because we want to feckin skelp it into the establishment.

I now have a problem, it is my Wife’s Birthday on Sunday. I suggested she comes down to the Office with me and the Bhoys, she has other plans, me, I’ll definitely be in the Office…:)

    Keep the Faith!

    Hail Hail!

of course we are going to win :)

My worry is at what cost because we can expect agricultural MIB assisted assaults on Sunday.

Skip agriculture that has cultivation connotations it will more like hunter gathering assaults.

  14. Pat Nevin just saying on a BBC report on Celtic that it’s Celtic and Brendan Rodgers pushing ahead rather that other Scottish teams dropping standards

Sometimes the question to ask of the consultant is :

” What would YOU do in my situation ” ?

Also gives you an opportunity to go through the pros and cons.

People always talk about ‘fighting’ cancer.

    It’s an appropriate term.

So sufferers should take any weapons that they are offered to the fight, in my view, given the formidable nature of the opponent.

Being offered Chemo or radiotherapy following surgery is often a case of ‘belt and braces’.

Your wife’s already shown great courage, whatever she decides about her treatment.

The very best of luck to her, and you, of course.

    Now that is expert timing!

    I remember the game, 0-0.

    We should’ve won it.

    =========

You’re right, of course, it’ll be ref-sanctioned studs-up tackles all the way on Sunday.

But I fancy us to give them a real shoeing despite that.

When the league is won is the time for the club to come out swinging about the week-on-week onfield assaults on our players, tacitly approved by the officials.

But I won’t be holding my breath.
