That’s five consecutive wins after the post-isolation debacle in January but Aberdeen have never come closer to scoring in their six games without a goal than at Celtic Park last night. The game was decided by the excellent 30-yard strike from David Turnbull that found the corner of the net and the almost-as-good shot from Aberdeen’s Kamberi that struck the post.
Celtic mastered the opening 30 minutes as Aberdeen were content to sit off, but there was no fluidity to our passing from the moment the visitors pressed. This run of wins is as much as we can ask of the team right now, but it was far from reassuring.
I don’t think I have seen as big a contrast in a player’s performance when he switches positions than that of Ryan Christie, who looks like a £20m player in the No. 10 role and appears anonymous on the right. For a whole raft of reasons, it is right to retain David Turnbull in the 10 role, but Ryan needs to do his work in the middle of the field. When he stops deputising for injured James Forrest he should be cover for Turnbull or Neil needs to find him a deeper role.

He was steaming after the game…
At corners he loves level crossing
Did McInnes get booked for going loco ?
He’ll get shunted into the reserves after that result
‘Neil needs to find him a deeper role’.
No, the new manager needs to sell him.
£20m……..I’d bite your hand off
Terminus ….
He wants to know if Chatanoogoo has a football team in the MLS
We have too many similar midfielders. At present we are playing Calmac, DT and either Christie or Rogic, together with a defensive mid, Broony or Soro. We lack a box to box midfielder (Stuart Armstrong type) , though Soro is the nearest we have to that. I’d play Broony AND Soro, with the latter able to go forward more, plus two of the others (I’d say Calmac and DT). In the present system Calmac is having to do much defending, we need him making passes into the box and running into the box as he did yesterday when he cut the ball back for DT.
He’s got an identical twin , he’s a Hornby dublo
I’ve had a good look at him and would guage him as oo
My take on the penalty incident, and WGS was insinuating the same, was that from 3 or 4 ft away kamberi carefully kicked the ball against the arm which was straight down by SW side…not a hard skill for a professional player in fact you only need to aim at the players side and if his arm is by it, its almost certainly going to hit the arm.
As for the free kick incident which some and DMc claimed was the same….well it wasnt…..for a kick off Christie flicked the ball with an attempt to go around the player he was not kicking the ball directly at the opponent….the Aberdeen player also had his arm slightly out from his side I’d say a good 4 or 5 inches further than SW arm…..to me at any rate different scenarios.
I don’t like to see players putting their hands behind their back. It’s not natural. SW’s hands were by his side when the ball struck him. Natural position, therefore no penalty…

That was my view as well.
Statues for Celtic Park are not needed, We have the founder our greatest manager, captain and player. Thata enough.
The Aberdeen game was similar to most of the other recent games. We do enough to win, We play well in spells, coast the rest like a training games. The manager tries his best and you can here him coaching from the sidelines all through the game.
It is obvious that we are still a split club. The coaching team and scouting need replaced as do most of the players.
Loanees Kenny, Duffy, Laxalt, Elynoussi will go back to their parents. Brown should join the coaching Team. our Loanees like Hendry, Bayo, Shved, N’tcham, Boli, Guzman Perez need released.
Saleable assets sold so Eddy, Christie, Barkas, Ajer, McGregor need to go even though we might want to keep them. Biton and Rogic sold or released. This leaves 16 of the existing first team squad. Promote 4 reserves O’Connor, Afolabi, Mcinroe, Robertson, Doohan and scrap the squad as they dont play.
I reckon we have Mcewan signed and we need 9/10 more new players.
The new UEFA rules men we need more Scottish players so sign Porteous, Doig, Ferguson, Campbell. Then 5or6 European players. This gives us about 30 Full time First team players backed up by any Youth and Academy players who develope.
No points for Hornby last night
Not sure of the source of this
Matteo Tognozzi of juventus said to have reached “gentleman’s agreement” with DD to start as dog on 1st July.
