CQN Golf Open knocks it out the park again

1384

We had our 11th annual CQN Charity Golf Open at Aberdour in Fife yesterday and it was another brilliant occasion.  £2000 was raised for good causes, including a local Aberdour need, Tommy Burns’ Charity and the Celtic Foundation.

My thanks to the Joe Miller, who regaled us with tales of Maradona, Jinky and Sugar Roy Aitken.  The buzz he got from playing for Celtic is clear.  The day wouldn’t be possible without Taggsybhoy and BlantyreKev, but it takes an entire crowd to make special nights like this, so thanks to each of you.

This afternoon’s game against Rennes is an important step towards getting the players fully fit but the 90 minutes have to be balanced against the Champions League qualifier on Wednesday.  I expect Ronny will ask the players the burn the flame brightly for a short period, before making lots of changes.

  2. TET: He tried to ban it a few years ago, albeit in the guise of ‘sportswear is not appropriate’ but all the teachers who promote sport railed against that.

Sipsini: I’m lucky in that most people here understand the affinity with Celtic. The staff know I’m a share holder and season ticket holder so they respect that. For the most part though, they are ignorant of Scottish football, past and present.

All season ticket holders have nail tonight to book own seats

I believe the public sale is from tomorrow morning

May want to try for a ticket then – when all available seats may be shown ?

Get along and add your vocal support :-)

What is the easiest way to buy 4 tickets for Aberdeen match on 31st October?

Coming up to see the marvellous Christy Moore at the Barras the night before the match.

Do they go on sale at least a week before?

Easier to buy online or at the Ticket Office?

Just logged on (and tend to read back) I am in your clique, 45yrs on this planet and have had the hoops 41 of those 45, my wee daughter would be distraught if I didn’t wear the hoops on holiday whether it’s Seton Sands or Santa Ponsa, she looks forward to buying me a strip for every Father’s Day & birthday, thankfully (so far) am sitting just under the 12stone so can just get away with it, but God willing in the next year, 5, 10 or whatever I will still wear the hoops, I have actually just started liking the green tartan one she got me last year, the only people that have a problem with what other people are wearing actually have the problem, each to their own, even those clowns that think sashes are still in fashion, they are so 17th century !

  10. tommie20 I may know you as I am 70 and went to primary school at St John’s Rosyth and then secondary for a bit at St Margaret’s Dunfermline and these were the schools that “Aberdour Boys” went to.

I had many friends from the John Boscoe home at Aberdour and would meet some in later years at Celtic games.

  19. Just logged on and not had time to scroll back to find out if there’s been any other posts about this: has anyone else (other than me) got any views on the ‘on line’ fee being charged to season ticket holders booking tickets for Wednesday?

I’ve just bought 1 adult and 2 kids tickets for Wednesday at a nominal cost of £30, but with an additional £4.50 for an ‘on-line booking fee’.

Now I don’t mind paying for a service, for instance to cover admin costs, but I fail to see how I’m getting £4.50 of value to book on line in a transaction like this.

    Anyone else … ?

  20. WITS: he’s definitely not on the wind up. Sevco are his ‘second’ team, but he’s been to more of their matches in the last three years than he has been to his first team, (Man U), ever. I met a few other sevco ‘Ireland’ supporters. One of my past pupils boasted about his support of the Huns, yet on non-uniform day, he always wore the hoops (of Shamrock Rovers)!

Exhorbitant booking fees are a particular bugbear of mine.

I got my ticket for Wednesday (mateless) added to my SB card and it costs £1.50 doing it over the phone, also paying I think 10p a minute. Not a huge amount of money but so unnecessary. The costs of running the Ticket office and associated activities should be fully absorbed into the ticket price.

I presume the only way to avoid it would be to visit the ticket office but for me and many others that’s not really an option.
