Dangerous teams with nothing to lose

482

We lost at Ibrox in January to a team that did not record a single attempt on target, not even at the own-goal we conceded.  We lost there again this month having missed a penalty and even better chances, while assisting the effort with another own-goal.  Frankly, Newco must be wondering how poorly they need to play against us to lose a game.  Nothing I saw from the home team in either of our recent defeats there justified fear of them.

If the old adage ’beware the straw man’ holds true, Celtic will deliver.  The straw man has nothing to lose or fear.  What have Celtic got to lose heading to Ibrox on Sunday?  This should be the most relaxed Celtic team to head there in Newco’s 9-year history.

The dubious motivation, to stop Newco’s unbeaten run in the league, feels a bit beneath us, but still…..

Most of the West follows some sort of Social Democratic system of which a high degree of poverty is acceptable.

This is not really about that system

There are always those that will make a profit during any crisis, like online traders in this one.

But is anyone here seriously suggesting that a multitude of governments around the world are thrashing their own High Streets just so that Bezos can add another couple of zeros to his personal wealth

    two points.

    1. the question isn’t should deniers be denied nhs treatment but rather would deniers expect to receive nhs treatment if they contract covid.

    2. it isn’t about whether treatment should be denied but whether in the event that the nhs was overwhelmed (as has happened in other countries and might have happened here) and treatment/ resources were having to be rationed the fact that people had left themselves open to infection by refusing the vaccine, and were actively encouraging others to do the same should be a factor in deciding who was to receive preference. It’s all very well being sanctimonious about it, but that might not play so well if deniers were being allocated life saving treatment while as a consequence others were being left to die.

We have a game to win today.

Sadly SEAN Mate…I havent been in any beer garden yet…cos Ive had stuff to deal with at home in this last week, and I also have another Home delivery booked for Monday, so its doubtful if I will be able to get out for any Beers…and I think it will be Tuesday ( Weather Permitting) before I can taste some Beer for the first time since last October 9th 2020…

  13. Would be happy to see Kenny, Christie, Edouard and Ely all dropped today. None will be here next season.

No doubt they will all start.

I would play Griff up front. Play Raxalt at RB. Play Dembele instead of Christie. Play Forrest instead of Ely,

World beaters? No. But likely to have more drive and commitment than the others? Yes.

  14. FWIW. I would like JK to base his selection on what he thinks would be most likely to be successful.

If Eddie Howe is to be our new manager, preparation for next season can start with his arrival.

1 draw and 4 defeats against a workmanlike hun. 2 goals scored, one of which shouldn’t have stood.

Prior to that a total fluke victory a Hampden.

Didn’t take long for 5WA Lawwell and Lennon to destroy what Rodgers built.

Let’s see what the gutless wonders on the park produce today. F-all as usual no doubt.

Whole club has rotted from fat cat CEO down. Huns to win a crap game 1-0.

Well it isn’t a shortage of vaccine that would be the issue it would be shortage of medical facilities to treat Covid.

But in answer to your question, yes. On public policy grounds. Anti vaxers wouldn’t object. It would be a badge of honour for them, and a suitable inscription for their tombstone.

The complication would be in assessing which, if any, anti vaxers were fully compos mentis.
