Dedryck strolls past England

1089

Hot on the heels of a former Celtic player becoming the most expensive defender in transfer history, we watched Dedryck Boyata stroll through Belgium’s win against England last night.  I would be more animated on this subject if he was secured on a five year contract, but as he his current deal only has one year to go, such a high profile performance could reduce our options for the player.

How many of you thought we would be in this situation after the Ibrox game in March?  That day Brendan Rodgers said there was better to come from Dedryck.  He is still not the finished article, but he’s a key cog in a team who fancy their chances in Russia.

Stiliyan Petrov match worn Champions League shirt raffle

We have a very special raffle, which ends this afternoon! The shirt Stiliyan Petrov wore in Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Bayern Munich during our 2003 Champions League campaign is available. You can buy a ticket for £1 here on ebay.  Stan signed the shirt.

All proceeds go to the Stiliyan Petrov Foundation to aid research into leukaemia and cancer treatments.  Stiliyan’s recover from leukaemia shows us just how far treatments have come, but as our own CQN community knows too well, more progress is needed.  The draw will be made at Woodside Hotel, Aberdour, where the 14th annual CQN Open Golf Day is now underway.

Hope to see you later.

Hello again all you young rebels.

    THE CELTIC PAPA.

” Hello darling how are you today?

    ” good papa ”

” i’ve got the music on for you ”

    ” o.k papa ”

” papa is Michael back with his family now?

How do you tell a 4 year old that Michael was hanged?

” yes darling he’s back with his loved ones ”

” o.k papa can we have hail.. hail now ”

Hail . Hail the Celts are here.

    Our Celtic world is complete.

    You ask of our manager-

“why state “the club will have a decision to make” if a 25 million offer is made? BS”-

Perhaps, the answer to your question is that he did NOT state this.

    What was reported was-

the Parkhead boss has reluctantly admitted he can’t guarantee keeping his prized asset if an “astronomical fee” is offered for the 21-year-old.

    It was also reported that-

Rodgers clarified he’s unaware of any concrete offer at this stage.

Therefore he could NOT have said, as you claimed, that the “decision would have ot be made” if a £25m offer was made. That is a precise figure that you have added to his statement.

And that is why it has become BS, as you say.

No you don’t know do you ?

Less of the bulky boy tactics and allow people their opinions. I dont agree with opinions on here at times but do not feel inclined to butt in like you. If u don’t like what I say fine, zip it and move on

  6. All the players that sign for celtic, i expect are given assurances that if a good/ acceptable offer is made we will not stand in their way to talk to the club in question, does not matter if that is one of our own or a dembele or ncham etc…

BR to my mind was stating the abvious and essential said if we cant get better than the players we have than we will not go signing up someone to look like we are busy.

Football clubs have been guilty of overspending for years. money in the bank is good for business. Celtic are never viewed as desperate to sell players so can demand top dollar for players that want to go.

As for jozo and boyata neither has covered themselves in glory when in the hoops but have done better than ddv, gamboa and allan. Would not blink if any of the above were to be sold.

I think there was a lot of dubiety about my post there.

Wee 4 year old Grace was being picked up by her papa

and always wants the FIELDS c.d played on the car radio.

Maybe better talking about selling Keiran.

  8. SFTB it’s a quote in the newspapers today. He said it. Question is why.

Sipsini the thing that really gets me is that Celtic could have ended it all by speaking up. The fact that they didn’t is an utter betrayal of all that we stand for. I don’t underestimate Paul at all. He is simply peddling the boards stuff and his claim that we lost money during the wgs years is risible at best.

This is all being done on our watch. It’s our fault.

Kieran Tierney is the best football player in Scotland – a bhoy who is capable of playing at the highest level.

It is a fact that there will be transfer speculation surrounding him in EVERY transfer window until such time as he eventually decides to leave. I will be astounded of forehead if he goes in this transfer window to Everton for £25 million – just not going to happen in my opinion.

He will eventually go – but that could be two or three years down the line – and until it happens he will always be a source of speculation.

If people are going to get agitated every time his name gets mentioned in a transfer window, I think said people should start taking tranquilizers for the sake of their own health.

“No you don’t know do you ?”

So, are you a child? Or someone of unusual height or size that has no equivalent on the CQN blog? If so, and, if this fact, in your mind, entitles your posts to be left alone and not commented on, you might be better served to advertise that status in advance.

Less of the bulky boy tactics and allow people their opinions. I dont agree with opinions on here at times but do not feel inclined to butt in like you. If u don’t like what I say fine, zip it and move on”

I will try and disentangle your thoughts here-

    a) I will assume “bulky” was just a typo for “bully” and not another example of your obsession with size

    b) You WERE allowed your opinion- no censorship took place and you were not deleted. Perhaps you are confusing the word with disagreement.

    c) You are stating that, when you posted, you were merely posting an opinion but, when I did likewise, I was “butting in”. Again, it would help if you advertise, in advance, that no-one is to comment on your post, as you cannot cope with disagreement and see it as bullying.

    d) You did not like what I said and have told me to zip it, but you have not followed your own advice and have attempted to Bully and silence me (see how easy it is to play that immature card)

Don’t worry! Being the Size and Age I am, I am highly unlikely to be affected by your outbursts. Anyone can become over-tired in this heat, no matter what age or size they are.

So, in a style you might recognise, I am aff oot now.

France should beat Argentina comfortably, but Deschamps is making an absolute hash of his team selections. Trying to shoehorn all the best players into the starting lineup instead of just picking the best team.

Griezemann is their main man, but I have never seen him playing well in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3. Should go with a midfield diamond and Griezamann and either Giroud or Mbappe up front.

Never been entirely convinced by Umtiti either.

Still fancy them to win, but will be harder work than it should be.

  19. No one interested that we’re getting gubbed 1-0.

Craig Gordon with ridiculous pass to KT to control which he couldn’t, they break and cut back to score.

    We’re totally dominating tough.

  20. CALTONTONGUES

Gorgons pass was not great but it was KT who caused the goal.

He was to casual chesting it down behind him and laid it on for winger who ran past him and crossed for goal.

i don’t know if transfer rumor and Brendans muted response has impacted his mindset but all their chances are coming down KT’s side and he does not seem focused.

  22. Fanatic,

KT should have let if go out as it was too high to control.

CG’s been very casual with the kick outs.

Still should be well in front as started very well then resorted to flaffing about with the ball at the back.

Typo error. Jeezo you do nitpick on here. Get a life man.

  24. Fan-a-tic

    Have to disagree.

Gordon had loads of time to take a touch but panicked & sclaffed a slow hospital pass to KT.

KT was guilty only of trying to rescue that hospital pass & make something of it.

Pass needed to be on the deck & sharp – Craig did the opposite & barely kept it in play.

In retrosepct he should have just let it go out for a shy & glare at Gordon.

Ajer slipped as the ball was squared back & then the deflection into the net.

How was it a hospital pass?

It was a little high but the nearest man to KT was 3 yards away.

The same guy just ran in a forward direction on to KT’s knockdown.

As i said all their threat came from KT’s side.
