Genuine Question for you and anyone else for that matter –
Has the question of what if anything Rangers paid the SFA in compensation for Walter Smith leaving ever been mad public?
Given the utter skelping we were given for taking TB away from Kilmarnock it’s been an issue , perhaps in the scale of things a minor one , that occurs to me from time to time.
If my guess is right that nothing was ever paid it would be just absolutely typical of the unique relationship between the SFA and thems.

Yup and I followed it up with e mails to Clyde and Alex Thomson.
I have always though Club Lifcensing woulkd play a role but thaought it was the National Club Process until someone on RTC pointed out what I had skipped on the SFA web site intro that UEFA Club Licensing applied to SPL clubs.
There only is one licensing processs and it covers both UEFA competition and SPL so if an SPL club qualifies for UEFA competition they do not have to go through another process.
STV Grant checked out the argument and confirmed license was not transferable, that one had not been issued for Newco (it could not of course since no Newco) but also that it was not guaranteed. This ties in with my reading of the rules which would require UEFA to be appraoched to get an exception,(see Page 1) a point I was unable to reinforce in response to the panels argument the SPL were doing their job.
Going by earlier Tweet from Alex Thomson, if genuine, he thinks the same.

No 13 – the plan on double contracts is to punish Rangers – but they will punish the old Rangers and say they cannot punish newco. In this way they will pick and chose what they will or wont do to newco.
