Early stats point to Sviatchenko effect

623

Well done to everyone for the win against Morton. After a difficult week it was good to get the result sorted out before halftime. Fixing poor form is seldom a straightforward business, but yesterday’s win was our sixth game in a month, with the loss of only one goal in that period.

The five games before this run didn’t produce a single clean sheet. Erik Sviatchenko started only the last of those five games (at Pittodrie), so while the sample size isn’t enough to draw clear conclusions, it’s an early indication the Dane has tightened things up at the back.

One thing Erik hasn’t been able to do is turn Celtic into a team which looks like it knows how to defend a corner kick. A Morton corner fell into the six-yard box to an attacker’s foot (never mind head). We’ve seen dozens of these horror-show set-pieces this season. They have cost us in the Champions League, Europa League, League Cup and in the Premiership. The Scottish Cup is the only tournament we’ve got away with it, so far.

You are I are beyond despairing at this point, let’s just get it sorted, Celtic.

They will be enjoying this in Mordor.

  3. @The tributeact Farce of a hearing. Decision was arranged ahead of time. BDO didn’t bother raising a single issue with CoS findings

HMRC obviously want this settled and to be binding on everyone going forward.

Appeal is to the benefit of HMRC. As long as HMRC win it!

As it stands, the BTC judgement is a Scottish decision.

    Soon,all being well,it won’t be.

I think HMRC have taken a decision not to vigorously defend the appeal for an appeal for that very reason.

    Morning Celts

    Court cases…dont make me laugh.

They are the worst cheats in Football,..they dont fear courts.

    Masonic sign flashed…all over.

You do realise that they will win this case and be vindicated.

Imagine what that will be like,

However…we do have the option, to refuse to take part in the cheating.

    Thats the best solution.

Id rather stop watching football alltogether.

There is no future for Celtic in a rigged league.

Its not even worth bothering about….its not football we are watching…merely cheating and dishonesty.

I rather doubt whether Celtic fans want to be cheated

There is no point anymore…its just a waste of time and money…..pay to be cheated, no thanks.

Maybe if PL and the board could grasp that, we might get somewhere.

But knowing what the board are like….they will bend over and take it.

    Makes me angry.

How long to make the appeal ?

How long for a date to be set ?

  8. Hmmmm!

I’m wondering if HMRC are happy to go to the Supreme Court to get a ‘set in tablets of stone’ judgement?

If they get it – would it provide them with a prima facie case to go after the individuals for the outstanding tax due?

    That would be a result!

  9. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    BMCUW,

HMRC got its best result from the court of session, a unanimous decision.

I also think the Supreme Court will bring it to a satisfying end, the only issue being the time it will take. It might also be a trap for sevco, if TBB’s estimate of 2020 is correct and sevco by then are esconced and making official statements about being the same club, HMRC will be within their rights to ask for payment in full, no ?

  10. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

I remember a few weeks ago….posters saying that there is no way they will be given leave to appeal.

    Wonder what happened there eh.

If we buy into that cheating….we deserve to be shafted.

The stupidity of our board is beyond belief, they are scared of their own shadows ffs.

    And in hiding yet again.

They only comment when they want us to accept the cheating.

No principles at all….Money, Money, Money.

Looks like HMRC want a definitive decision which will render an arguable point of law -unarguable

  12. The Green Man says SACK THE Board on

And of course….once our board accept the cheating, by ignoring it and hoping it will go away.

Next season, the huns will want to show us, who is in charge.

The hun refs will blatantly cheat…and say, what are you going to do about it?

    The reply will be…NOTHING.

Our board are very cowardly, and will refuse to challenge the cheating.

They dont represent the supporters, they only represent themselves.

    Cowards.

You need to factor the complications and sequalae arising in commercial law from any evidence led at the criminal trial, and any complications arising from that and the final Tax Case outcome, on the administration of Scottish Football.

There was little doubt the Tax Case would go to penalty kicks at the Supreme Court. The decision redefined an established point of law with a huge number of EBT cases relying on/impacted by it. Not allowing the appeal would have been unjust.

The tax case outcome is likely within 2 years, then start counting.

In the meantime, the criminal trial will be heard over the summer, new facts will inevitably emerge that may impact on the good title to assets passed by D&P to Sevco, and from Sevco to the public via the IPO, and also on the bona fides of Sevco’s membership of the SFA. And all manner of other stuff besides.

This soap opera will run and run and run. I’m saying 2020. Four years ought to be enough to clean it all out, but it’s been 4 years already and we really aren’t terribly far progressed. Could be longer before everything’s come out in the wash.

The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind fine…

The board have sat right back and allowed them carte-blanche.

    The huns have them terrified.

The do as they are told, and are quite prepared to encourage good supporters to look the other way, and pretend that its not happening.

Encouraging their own supporters to buy into the hun cheating.

I don’t believe that. The case will be heard by 3 Supreme Court Judges.

If a near bankrupt property developer and the legacy influence of a liquidated football club can buy a decision from the most eminent Judges in the country, a decision that does not materially impact on the appellant, then the sea is boiling hot and pigs have wings.

The decision will come down in due course, and it will be whatever it will be. Willie Collum will not be on the bench and Sandy Bryson will not be called to present evidence.

I had hoped that things would have turned out better, but when you really think about it, the cabal are what they are, and to lose for them is unthinkable.

There will be a few minor court cases and a few scapegoats will get punished, but the real players will ride off into the sunset having stiffed their creditors and the public out of over a billion pounds, their play thing that is known as the huns will continue to cheat there way to the top of the game, and there is not a fecking thing we can do.

    How sad is that.

  24. Wee all know Sevco cheated,E B TS etc,Let the Supreme Court deal with them,Sevco will get to cocky ,thinking they are going to win the Big Tax Case, and then low and behold, bang they have lost,so Celtic supporters forget about that shower, but on here there are quite a lot obsessed with them, forget them Bhoys,Start making noises about our Club Celtic, hopefully in the coming months we will see big changes, especially at boardroom level, were this shower will be replaced with real Celtic men and Supporters, There is one man in the present board who in my opinion ,needs to be kept there ,that man is John Keane,

This is not a property developer we are talking about, it’s the establishment.

They have the scottish powers in their pockets, all of them from the sfa to the highest law lords, that has been seen to be the case, only the other week Mash took a battering in the high court in London, and with the greatest of respect, I fully expect the outcome of this to be the same.
