Find how best to use Scott Brown

815

Neil Lennon will be delighted to have secured his captain, Scott Brown, on a new long-term contract which sees the player tied to the club until after his 30th birthday in 2015, with the club having an option to extend the deal by a further 12 months.

Scott joined Celtic in 2007 and played central midfield until last season, when he was occasionally used wide right, to great effect.  Reflecting some of the conversations we had earlier this week with Georgios Samaras, who has recently been a revelation wide-left after years of frustration as part of a front pairing, Scott seemed to revel in the space the wider position allowed him to exploit.

Before joining Celtic Scott made his name playing almost as an auxiliary striker at Hibernian, where he would burst into the box with well-timed runs but at Celtic he is more commonly anchored in a defensive midfield role.  As a consequence, despite having played more games for Celtic than Hibs, and playing for a team who attack far more often, he has still to match his Hibs goals scored total at Celtic.

A catastrophic signing who has done nothing in 4 years, the manager compounds the issue by blowing the budget on a guy we all know is a dud.

He is our figurehead and highest paid player.

Sami wont get the manager sacked as Neil Lennon said, I feel this will.

    You missed your calling.

You should have been a mafia boss.

Tony Soprano would think twice about messing with you.

  4. I havent been on much as I am pretty hacked off with the standard of player I am watching for the money I pay, and I want the Lennon experiment to succeed but I despair at the monumental lack of judgement that has happened today.

It will be an interesting transfer window in January….& the Summer.

Looking at all the midfielders we have i wouldn’t know who to sell as i like them All.

Players like Forrest or McGeough are our future.

I would love to have seen a midfield of James Forrest, Barry Bannan, James McCarthy, Dylan McGeough.

Listening to Radio Manchester earlier. The pundits in the studio are open in their allegiances to Bolton. City, Blackburn or Utd. The pundits are usually the sports journalist from the local paper or ex player.

The fans talk to their pundit. There is no pretence of impartiality. There is no hidden agenda. Perhaps Shortbread and Snyde could learn a lesson.

    ————————————

There is no need for that to happen up here as there is only one club that journalists have allegiances to .

    Simples :-)

  8. Evening all, just saw the Orcs penalty on SSN , Aluko will fill Naismiths jersey perfectly. Went down at the first brath on his neck,as for the ref….loved awarding it. Classic mibbery.

To better things, watching Barca at the moment, the young guy Cuenca looks a class act. I have seemn him play all across the 3 man midfield and he looks comfortable in all of them , only 20 as well. He has just scored a peach, good luck to you son, you`re on your way to a fantastic career.

Would hate to see that line up against such as Jennings, Lasley, Black and Imrie.

Might as well phone the ambulance just before kick-off.

  10. I think Broonie will be good business.

What most seem to forget that our players are fouled with the blessing of the cheats with whistles, young James was lucky the other week against m/well that he wasn’t carried off the pitch.

We will need his dig before the season is out, and I am looking forward to our capitano the lifting the league trophy.

In the meantime Lenny wants him, good enough for me, and if PL flexes his muscles come the summer, he may well go for a few bob.

Im the opposite, I’d love to see it. Would love to see them give them a complete footballing lesson.

The 4 guys you mentioned would kick any player off the park, It’s how you deal with it that matters. Simple…Make a fool of them with the ball.

  14. Glad to see brown with us for another couple of years to give us more options, would be over the moon if lennie finds him in his best position like last year, bown in that position and naiknees off for the season could be very significant

  15. Good evening folks, how are we all? ….

Just read the gallant RTC’s latest article regarding that mob…I tell you what,..I’ve had it with them….the way they are stumbling day to day and blatently breaking every rule in the book is beyond a joke now!!!

Where is the SFA on this non payment if NIC to players, and the basic running of theyre finances??

Where is our board on the fact they have stolen our chance of a 15M pay day to europe?

Why are the only real questions being asked by Phil, RTC and the great posters on here?

The media must hang their sorry heads in shame.Every last one of them,..They have the power to make a difference in this country, by bringing truth to the people….They instead choose to tow the line.

In my opinion, this whole sorry affair has shown Scotland up for what it is,…..a shambles of a country.
