For the love of the game. And endurance of Ally McCoist

1247

Close to 100 people agreed to participate in the Scottish FA’s disciplinary panel, as Neil Lennon put it yesterday, “for the love of the game”.  Processes were established and although panel members would meet and be introduced to club officials who were subject to their decisions, they were granted freedom from publicity in order for them to hand out punishments free of intimidation.

This freedom has now gone.

Such was the reaction to Ally McCoist’s public demand to know the names of the panel members who judged the actions of his club the SFA felt it prudent to select panellists who were happy to expose themselves and their places of employment to the outcry the original panellists endured.  IF they uphold of increase the penalties.

On Wednesday evening we should find out whether intimidation of the SFA works.

The biggest scandal of all is that despite the consequences of McCoist’s actions, the SFA have taken no disciplinary action against him.  Rangers officials are free to react to the appeal judgement in the same manner as the original without fear of consequence.

Other managers who are pursued for more prosaic matters might consider the SFA panel have something personal against them.

  1. Of course the SFA are culpable, but only for inaction. The actions, the actual deeds is down to those at RFCia. End of story!

  9. Do we pay a licence fee to listen to these two apologists? It’s disgraceful. Chic disagrees with the SFA report. He obviously knows better than Lord Nimmo and the various other learned people involved including QCs.

  10. Chic Hun & Jabba in denial……sooner or later, probably via anger, they’ll get to acceptance.

Chick Young, I’ll bet you ANYTHING that someone here can produce evidence of you fawning and slurping over Craig Whyte. Someone, somewhere, will have a soundfile of your proclamations before you were ‘always cynical’ about CW.

  14. Chic now implying that this is all down to CW. Wake up Chic, RFCia were in deep sh*t long before CW was ‘sold a pup’. RFCia, and all those who blindly supported them, in their insatiable drive for success are all to blame.

So according to Chick Young and Traynor those legal experts because the panel’s findings were critical of directors that makes their findings easy meat for the lawyers to get the transfer embargo over turned.

    Now that is pathetic.

Inaction by one mob does not remove the disgraceful actions of those who “spent” money to fill rangers full of players who as yet are not and are not likely to be paid for. Nor does it preclude the monies owed to Rapid Vienna, Arsenal and Manchester City from the previous regime which paid for Jelavic, Weiss and Bartley which contributed to their championship and cup win last season.

Yes because John Greig and McLelland did nothing, it all needs to be dropped.

Personally, I think it’s all the SFA and Celtic’s fault plus, of course, LLoyds bank, for making poor Minty and craigy bhoy do as the did.

To think if Swally had got them into the CL group stages all of this may still have been buried.

It should never have came to this. Murray should have came clean with the fans and we could have salvaged the club if he hadnt sold to whyte he could have sold all our big players to raise cash and then had a share issue and sold off Murray park or something. We would have forgiven him for saving the club.

Re: Never ever felt this depressed

Agree with you, i watched a few dvds last week. I saw guys who our club made rich playing, some well worth the money such as Gazza and Laudrup but also a helluva lot more players who hardly kicked a ball for us yet we paid them megabucks. Prodan, Rosenthal, Kusnetzov etc the list goes on and on.

We the fans are prepared to did deep to save our club. maybe an appeal to these former players who we set up for life is appropriate, a wee percentage of the money we paid them returned would easily assist the BK bid.

Then again most of them wont give a f@ck dsepite what we did for them

I think we are all guilty of thinking "the Rangers just can't be allowed to die". We all thought we were to big to be in this position mainly because we never knew the size of the problem.

I am in a dark place also mate – my work is suffering because I am spending so much time on the internet looking for news and I have been warned several times.

  28. I’ve resisted the temptation to listen to the radio this afternoon. There’s only so much laughter you can take.

There are two “misunderstandings” that annoy me most right now. The first is that everything was fine until that nasty Craig Whyte took over from dignified Sir David. The SFA report confirms what we all knew – the bank forced him to sell. And does anyone think Murray would have sold up for £1 if everything was rosy in the garden?

The second is the link between hun trophies and the combination o reckless overspending and tax evasion. I’ve argued with a few folk who seem surprised that a successful club can lose money. They can’t seem to realise that the success came precisely because of the financial policies that have finally caught up with them now.
