George Peat still casting shadow

1187

Predicting what is about to happen in Scottish football is a bit of an art.  We all realise that just about everyone has an agenda, so the first thing most of us do is ignore whatever overt line is being promoted by one or two sources of ill-repute, especially when they suggest that Sevco will definitely play football in the SFL First Division next season.

So far around 11 clubs have intimated they will vote against this proposal while only Stenhousmuir, the very club that stepped forward to give former SFA president George Peat a seat of the board after he completed his work with Airdrieoneans, have offered the Loyal support.

Apart from Stenhousmuir, only Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster seem keen on the idea of allowing Sevco to start their sporting life in two levels up from the bottom.

Ally McCoist spoke some wise words to online channel, Rangers TV (current ownership model unclear).  Having gained some first-hand managerial experience against Falkirk last season, McCoist knows that First Division football would give Sevco no guarantee of promotion.  He complained that he has only six first team players at the moment, although didn’t add “and they are rubbish”.

There is also the suspicion that Sevco are not shifting a lot of season tickets, income levels could be acutely low, and their potential fans appear to have no more appetite for a grubby accommodation than anyone else.  Apart from Stenhousmuir, Regan and Doncaster, of course.

McCoist addressed the prospect of additional punishments to be handed to Sevco for the misdemeanours of Rangers as a further reason to go straight to the bottom of the pile, however, he didn’t touch on the obvious point.

The only way Sevco are going to avoid penalties for Rangers EBT behaviour is if the former club is found to have acted correctly, or if Sevco make no claims to inherit Rangers club licence, name, badge or other unique identifiers.

Anyway, we have Inter Milan, Real Madrid and the Champions League qualifiers to look forward to. Bring them on!

You seem to know me too well !!!!!

I am containing my rant using the beauty of mainstream social media such as Twitter and….well just Twitter. Facebook is Illuminati,

  2. Dear Stewart Regan and Neil Doncaster

Fareweel to a’ our Scottish fame,

    Fareweel our ancient glory;

Fareweel ev’n to the Scottish name,

    Sae fam’d in martial story.

Now Sark rins over Solway sands,

An’ Tweed rins to the ocean,

To mark where England’s province stands-

Such a parcel of rogues in a nation!

What force or guile could not subdue,

    Thro’ many warlike ages,

Is wrought now by a coward few,

    For hireling traitor’s wages.

The English steel we could disdain,

    Secure in valour’s station;

But English gold has been our bane-

Such a parcel of rogues in a nation!

O would, ere I had seen the day

That Treason thus could sell us,

My auld grey head had lien in clay,

    Wi’ Bruce and loyal Wallace!

But pith and power, till my last hour,

    I’ll mak this declaration;

We’re bought and sold for English gold-

Such a parcel of rogues in a nation![1]

    Yours Sincerely

  3. Very sad news of the passing of Lurgan53 my thoughts and prayers with family and friends

Well i thought it would never happen, deep down i just did not believe the SPL clubs would turn the newco out, a fans revolution clearly was the deciding factor true democracy at work, much kudos to the internet bampot community and those brave souls leading the fight against sporting injustice Paul67, RTC and Phil mac,

The redtop media are disgracing themselves as they race each other to shame the devil

    Listening to RC broadcast

Shug Keevins “there is no sporting integrity in Scotland what we have is sporting practicality” after decades of calling Celtic fans paranoid, fundamentalists and internet bampots…………….. finally he admits Scottish football has no sporting integrity……….. the irony in his remark would have sailed over shug’s head

  4. The trick is:

    Get yer Lambeg drum.

Make sure its thrice yer body weight.

Get a wee decorated bigot to dance quietly in front of it.

    Pound it with pure aggression.

This is the life of the Lambeg.

Don’t batter it with a tiny stick next to yer wee pal though. It shows ye both up that you miss their point, and by relation, are even further from the truth.

Well the ol bigotfest has started in earnest in ML3 already.

Give them time Bhoys, in a few years time they’ll walk themselves off the face of the earth.

  6. I wonder if the bhoyos have been out during the night.

Since I’ve moved here, most years prior to the big walk a group of hardy souls, clearly not happy with bigots parading the streets, have painted the road and surrounding walls with an assortment of ‘green’ graffiti.

We’re not going away ye know.

  11. Check out these quotes from this lunatic Andy Goram.

@celticservant: Few quotes from Goram coming up. Someone can work out his logic for me.

@celticservant: Goram “I’m all in favour of starting in SFL 3. Rangers have made mistakes & should be *punished* & demotion to SFL 3 is the right way to go.

@celticservant: Goram “But for the sake of Scottish football & future of the game the *only* thing to do is parachute Gers into SFL 1.

@celticservant: Goram “And if Rangers find themselves playing in SFL 1 then they must be *sanction free*.

@celticservant: So Newco should be punished by going to SFL 3. But if they escape with SFL 1 then there should be no more punishments. Goram logic.

@celticservant: Yep as noted in MSM most of language is about “Rangers being relegated”. Nonsense.  @Chrismarkey1109

@celticservant: Exactly. I first noticed the relegation talk last week. Now growing arms & legs as they desperately cling onto history. @Hullbhoy

@celticservant: Relegation nonsense stems from SFL presentation. “Rangers stay in SPL” “Rangers to SFL 1”. Should have been “Newco admitted to..”

Wish i was in Tenerife away from this Greenock weather.

  15. Wet and windy in Arbroath but not an Orangeman in sight. Try to remember that, no matter how the MSM present it, most people in Scotland are OK and actually dislike and resent those simpletons being allowed to march through the streets displaying their narrow-minded ignorance.

  16. garcia lorca on

Greetings from a very warm but slightly cloudy Granada, Andalucia.

Another day, another Orange parade. Some bright day Scotland will be a more contented place when the last of those bigots follow the path to oblivion like their football club.

This morning I recall the bravery of one William Wallace, St Luke’s Boys Guild club leader who decided that enough was enough when the Orange march passed St Luke’s Church on Ballater Street, Gorbals and he stepped from the pavement to complain to the police. The tradition was for the march to stop outside the chapel and give it big licks. We all grew up with this behaviour, didn’t like it but that was how it was.

For me it was a remarkable pivotal moment. There was a generation of young people growing up around me who were inquisitive about the wider world and were challenging accepted norms.

Sometimes change comes quickly, sometimes it requires commitment and patience.

The demise of Rangers could only be wondered at in the eyes of the late William Wallace but his complaint that day was a small step to the eventual demise of the Orange Institution. Of that I have absolute certainty.

Bigots, bullies,cowards- the lot of them.

  18. Re Orange Scum

There was a rant in the paper by one of their head bummers during the week slating the CoS. Because they had apologised for the way the church treated Irish immigrants and because of increased ecumanism with the RC church, then the this clown believes that the CoS does not represent protestantism in Scotland. He believes that the o.o is the true representative of it.

I think, if they could, the CoS would like to drop any links they have to that collection of social outcasts. They now see them for the embarassment they truly are.

I wonder how many marching today to uphold their beliefs actually believe in God. Going by the ones who work with me, not many.

SPF ( On his way to Mass to pray for them)

  19. They’re refusing to move from Holy Cross chapel despite efforts from the Police and “stewards”. Banging their Lambeg drums and hangers on letting off fireworks.

Why do they feel the need to target Churches/Chapels?

This is bad enough but can you imagine how much worse it would be in an independent Scotland?

    Jesus wept.

  20. So Mr Goram, if you look at the record books, where exactly did Sevco Scotland Ltd finish in last season’s SPL?

I can’t recall Celtic playing them. How did I miss that?
