It’s only a flesh wound. King goes Full Python

1151

Celtic hammered Newco 5-1 home and away last season, knocked them out both cups, won one other game and conceded a late equaliser, allowing Newco their only moment of (cough) glory last season.

We finished 39 points ahead of Newco (who were 33 points from bottom). As we set off for the summer, glowing after the first invincible treble in history, chairman of Newco, that complete muppet Dave King, told the assembled media, “In footballing terms I don’t think Celtic are as far ahead as they could have been – certainly with our new signings.”

The two 5-1 defeats now look like Python’s Black Knight losing his legs one at a time, but protesting they were little more than flesh wounds. Except Python was a parody, this guy is being serious!

So, Brendan, Peter, Dermot, get the finger out. These people don’t believe 5-1 is a substantial enough winning margin. When we pitch up at Ibrox on the weekend of 23/24 September, ‘go Medieval on their ass’ to borrow from Quentin.

Take five minutes to update yourself on The Road to Lisbon cyclists, who traveled from Celtic Park to Estadio Nacional last month.

This has been a phenomenal and inspiring effort by a group of Celtic fans – and so many donors.  What a great thing to be a part of.

Celtic firing out emails promoting the new away kit this morning. They don’t do irony.

Be more impressed if club was calling press conferences to announce quality additions to playing squad.

On the plus side. If they are in Prestonpans, then folk elsewhere are getting a bit of peace.

    Quonno,

They’ve started already, must be going round in circles in the park, kickoff on the streets is 1 pm and I’ll certainly not be here…….

  5. Celtic FC are quite right. Other than humiliating Linfield on the park, dont have anything to do with the the scum.

In the managers interview he said that we would be hoping to get one more in after Jonny Hayes and that the rest of the business would be done later in the window..

Good morning From a very warm and sunny Marmaris.

Can understand why Celtic are not taking the tickets for Tims in Scotland.

Most crossings will be booked and laden with that shower.

Wouldn’t trust the RUC with our safety either, in a city crammed with the living dead.

Shouldn’t stop local Celtic supporters well versed and used to dealing with them.

  11. Cannae be easy being BR this transfer window. We can offer bucks, but not the big bucks for the buckies we want.

Instead we must look towards the likes of the Engerland development squad players that cant get a club game in their home country. Buy a few, loan deals aye, if necessary, but preferably not.

Another of our big squad, Paul McMullen , has left us.

He has joined Dundee United where he will team up with fellow ex Celt , James Keatings.

Hamiltontim , enjoy your day. Some of my pals are going to McChuill’s later today as there is a Mod (not the Gaelic festival ) gathering there this afternoon.

Thanks for your hard work with the Celtic Trust and FAC.

The Celtic board managed to sabotage Radiohead’s set?

  16. GlassTwoThirdsFull on

Well – this is all a bit strange.

Didn’t Dave King say last season that he expected “Rangers” (sic) to be CLOSER to Celtic?

So, “Rangers” should be closer to Celtic, but Celtic should be further ahead of “Rangers”?

    Confused…….

    Hi BCW

What is it like there we are heading over next sat for two weeks and never been before.

Tell me they have Birra Moretti or peroni, and fruit cider for the better half otherwise it might be a long fortnight. Everybody saying to change our money over there is that correct.

They are a band I admire. They’ve stuck to playing/creating music they are into and resisted selling out for commercialism like say Coldplay ( first two albums were really good ) but have lost there way IMO in favour of targeting a wider audience
