Funny how within an hour of the “kicking” the world has suddenly seemed just a bit less dark.
The old Zen Master of “We’ll see” will be smiling.
At half time I was thinking its TM time again.
I was delighted by the response. I wonder at times at selections but saw little wrong with the starting line up. I had no idea Kayal and KI would not turn up but you know what really bugs me? It is a simple thing but it does make me wonder at the coaching – why do we lose the ball from shies as often as we do? Why when the opposition take shies do they win the ball.
V Hearts they got a shy and I thought the cross must not come in. But no defender covered the thrower who took the knock back and crossed it. It should have been cleared, it was not, but there was as much blame at the shy as at the cross.
Lack of attention to detail like that bothers me in terms of faith in the coaching.

I’m going to go against the grain here but I’m actually proud of the bhoys today and think that it may just be a turning point. The 2nd half performance will have told Lenny a lot about the players he can trust when the going gets tough.
There was no surprise to me that Stokesy and Charlie grabbed the goals that got us the draw. They never gave up, they knew how important today was. They made mistakes earlier but kept going.
Wanyama brought a shape to our midfield, he’s a protector and I would start him every game.
Hooper and Kayal should be “rested” for a few games and we should play 4-5-1 until we stop shipping stupid goals.
Forrest–Ki—Wanyama—Ledley—Commons would be my midfield going forward with Stokes upfront. Wanyama sitting in front of our CBs.

Gosh, what an afternoon.
Went into town with the bhoy for a little retail therapy – Football Boots, top for efficacy – and we were surprised and delighted to see and hear a spontaneous huddle in Central station. About quarter past 4. Hundreds of Celtic fans just belting out joy. Marvellous. Fair cheered us up. Thanks Ghuys.
Then half an hour later, boots in the bag, walking back to the car, and the guy in the crowd ahead of us is on the phone to his pal “1-0? Yes? 1-0? Brilliant. Is it over yet? No? Not long then? 2 minutes? Great. Gerrit tuprum.”
Driving along Waterloo St, fortunately stoppped at the lights when BBC Shortbread got all confused, yes? no? goal? whit? Yip, goal st Mirren, 3rd and final minute of injury time.
Must say, at half time during the Celtic game, I really didn’t think me and the boy would be driving up the road with a quiet smile on our coupons.
St Mirren have given us a chance to get ourselves off the hook. Let’s hope it’s a little more substantial than a little Saturday afternoon shadenfreude.

In the summer there was genuine optimism amongst us that if we added quality to key areas we might just have a decent team.
1. We required a dynamic goalkeeper. What did we do?
We knocked back Belgiums experienced goalkeeper, Croatia’s goalkeeper & Polands next rising goalkeeper star Sandomierski who went to Genk. We re-signed Fraser Forster on loan for the 2nd time who was Newcastles 4th choice & who had been unconvincing last season
2. We needed to address the centre of defence with a few quality additions. What did we do?
We signed Kelvin Wilson on a free who had not played for Notts Forest for 6 months. He unfortunately got injured which is fair enough but we needed more than one centre half as Loovens, Majstorovic, Rogne have all been sketchy
3. We needed a physical centre forward who can win first balls & play close to Hooper. What did we do?
We signed Mo Bangura, a player who looks like he took up the game a fortnight ago and runs aimlessly in the channels a la Samaras
Add to this that Izaguirre broke his ankle, Mark Wilson & Kris Commons bizarre omission from starting teams & the manager changing his team every week & its no surprise that we are in a guddle

We were all critisising the team on the blog during the game but the guys in the crowd got behind the team. It was heard loud and clear, not just by us watching but by the players.
