Leaders found

You could make an argument that last night’s game was the most important of the season. A win away to Hearts, bereft of captain, top striker and creative fulcrum is statement football.

It says we have the wherewithal in the squad to overcome what continues to be a campaign plagued by plague, among other things.

Yesterday we spoke about the need for new leaders.  Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate and Giorgos Giakomakis stepped forward.  They will continue to improve as Ange Postecoglou shapes the team.

We are far from certain of winning this league, but it well take an exceptional side to stop us.

  1. Fair play to Atalanta for selling a young lad after four games for £17 million.

This lad may be good or bang average.

With barely double digit senior football appearances, no one really knows.

I saw him take a corner once and he made a mess of that

a wage thief if ever there was one, I would have ordered a taxi

for him myself but some of our esteemed posters on CQN

wanted to drive him straight to Arsenal themselves, but the man

refused to go thereby cheating the club out of a transfer fee.

Lucky Arsenal their chairman throwing away good money as well

  3. What do Michael O’Halloran, Callum McGregor, Ryan Porteous, Stephen O’Donnell and Josh Ginelly have in common?

Nick Walsh has sent them all off in matches against thems in less than 12 months.

5 red cards for opponents in his last seven thems games.

guess where he is ref this week-end.

    Well, yes.

But it might be just as instructive, though more challenging, to remember the Évian Conference.

Delivery at corners has improved noticeably in the last few weeks. The ball is now going into the scoring zone with some consistency. It’s a start.

I mentioned that on SC last night. What a delight to see the ball clear the first defender. Perhaps our new bhoy can take over training sessions from Strachan😱

  8. To put it simply Greg Taylor isn’t good enough for celtic.hes a hard worker that should be playing in the championship with Kilmarnock.scales is by far a better player.taylors just not good enough.and gmac is going to be one helluva striker for us if he gets a run.and decent distribution into him.hes already been wrote off on here al by certain posters.obviously people thst don’t go and watch celtic

An uncle Tom capable of giving gollum and clancy a run for their money.

  10. Celtic players were knackered and the same could be said of many of us watching what turned out to be a torrid second half. It was a terrific game nonetheless but not for the fainthearted with crunching tackles flying in all over the place, the Hoops managed to escape with health still intact………I think.

Hearts players so passive, hardly raised a decent sweath in that first half such was the brilliance of the Hoops and must have had an energy overload ready to unleash with Celtic hanging on for that last torrid twenty minutes. Celtic always weak at defending corner kicks survived many last night as Jambos threw everything at us bar the proverbial kitchen sink. The penalty wasa result of an unfortunate ricochet, can happen. Can we safely say we now have solid defence …..at last. This was a game Tony Ralston, our hardest player, would have revelled in. Can we find a

    position for the lad?

Giako is coming good with 3 goals in four starts and a terrific strike last night. My first glimpse of Hatate last night and lived up to all that was said about him last week despite his nervy opening few minutes. Matt Riley Sky’s MOTM need I say anymore. Bench looking a bit thin at present.

Young Scales has not really been tested and looks slow on the turn to me and at the moment Taylor is a better bet ….Scales would need another year before he is ready to challenge for top spot …

Now that Ange has Creg playing fullback and letting. Felipe get on with beating the full back , we have seen Creg playing a more solid game

  12. It doe not appear that Celtic FC are giving any tickets to our rivals for next Wednesday’s home game, there has not been a public sale of tickets to Celtic supporters, does anyone know what has happened to the 7-8000 tickets not accounted for by Season Ticket holders?

  13. watched the game again, we were not hanging on, starfelt , taylor and forrest all contributed.

  14. Saint Stivs…………..Good to see Jamsie going the full ninety after his injury woes. Did his bit helping out in defence when the pressure was on in the second half.

It’s difficult to find words to adequately describe the sheer, naked, unbridled evil of the Nazis towards the Jews and certain minority groups like the Roma and homosexuals. I’ve read and watched books, newspaper accounts and watched countless TV programmes about it. I’ve visited the Jewish Holocaust Memorial Centre in Berlin built on the site of the destroyed Gestapo headquarters. It often leaves me in tears and It also leaves me in a rage.

However, what I find really inspirational is the individual stories of those who survived. How they coped with the loss of their families and friends and made lives for themselves in countries throughout the world.

I know that millions of people around the world share my views but when you watch the news and pay attention to what’s going on in the world, the right wing is on the rise at home and abroad and there are new Nazis of whom we must be wary.

We must never let this happen again.

    —————-

    OSB,

I’m reading a book (We wish to inform you that tomorrow we will be killed with our families) about the Hutus genocide of the Tutsis.

Sadly, we did let it happen again.

  16. The Huns need a winger, a first choice starter. They need someone to lift their team and to take Hagi’s place

The pressure on and expectations of this kid are going to be sky high. They’re already putting way too much on the kid who played the other night.

Maybe he’ll be able to handle what’s going to be a frantic end of season but he’d better be good or he’ll get hounded from the stands

  17. I spent some time in Krakow and visited Auschwitz-Birkenau and can say that nothing prepares you for the visit, before going I had read various accounts but the actuality of the place just has to be seen to be believed.

The building that stores the belongings of the victims is harrowing, I thought that the baby clothes would be the worst but seeing the shoes piled up really hit me.

I haven’t been able to put into words the feeling when entering the remaining Gas Chamber.

After this I visited the Birkenau site and to this day the scale of the place is hard to describe, you see the pictures but the reality is so much worse.

It’s not a place for all to visit as it is that traumatic but I would never have forgiven myself for not going and in my own small way showing my respect

  18. Another thing I really like about Ange is how he has energised his coaching team, to the point that it is clear that everyone really is on board this season. And indeed needs to be. Rally good to see.
