Level of professionalism enveloping Celtic

404

If the Premiership divides into four groups:

Celtic: 8 points clear at the top with 67 games in hand.

Hearts, Newco and Aberdeen: within 2 points of each other in the battle for two Europa League games in June 2017.

St Johnstone: isolated in the middle of an 8 point bubble.

The rest: all 2 points from the automatic relegation spot.

Then Motherwell top their group.  They have infinitely more to play for than Celtic at Fir Park tomorrow.  For them, this is about livelihoods.

We have an early kick-off at what will be a hostile environment.   Arrive with your war face on, Celtic, and get the job done.

Pretty stunning work by the Celtic commercial team, who, alone against the nation’s major retailers, were promoted by The Telegraph as one of The best Christmas 2016 adverts.  A level of professionalism is beginning to envelop the club (and I know it’s not there completely yet).

I tended to go for low hanging fruit this time (no reference to the calendar idea intended!) … but having picked most of the strong teams early in the competition, I am scrambling a bit for the last week ….

however, those scrappy little outsiders from Govan managed to scrape out a win for me a few weeks ago, so picking less fashionable or fancied teams can sometimes work out!

    :)

  2. I think you wll need to make the Calendar in Emperor Size Paper going in old measurements to fit some of the curvier model of CQN in. Some may just fit. Some may just fit Double Elephant paper size.

    :@-)

MWD postage and packaging will need to be paid by the purchaser to keep profit for the charity.

    Warburton:

“We’re looking at an overseas midfield option for January.

I can’t tell you who he is but what I can tell you is there are three or four other clubs in for the same player.

He has an outstanding pedigree and we are trying to get hold of him.”

The rest of the SPFL is quaking with fear…

“It would be a loan deal. If it comes down to the money, we won’t get this player.”

    As you were…

My jaws and sides can’t take much more of this !!!

MWD … remember the story of the mouse and the elephant? might have to tell you that one off line … not sure it would pass muster in the new postmod CQN! :)

  5. an early heads up on the calender would be of help as I am already booked for 2 next year and would hate a clash of months

  6. mike in toronto on

WDH … given the average age on CQN, I dont think we will have to worry about too many ‘heads’ up on the calendar … but, if there are the odd one or two, they will be discretely covered by the footballs!

    How ya’ doing, pal?

    Spread the word.

Just been informed from a trusted source some info that is bound to go nuclear. Apparently the pre zimmer zombies owed our beloved government some money in 2011. It turns out that the SFA and Celtic PLC knew about this but The SFA allowed thems to maintain their European license and deprived the rest of Scottish football from their legitimate bitcoins. Something needs to be done about this and done quick! Bloody disgrace so it is.

Re the competition for zombie points, why dont you have a tie breaker and ask each entrant to predicted the cumulative mins of injury time played in December in the event of a Draw.

After all if its Nil points you could be splitting the pot very thinly.

    P.s whats 6 x 7. :-)

On 2nd thoughts based on my Old Firm fixation this could take years. I think with Lawwells permission CQN should get involved.

  12. Hope everybody is having a great time in BV today and behaving themselves ! Wish i was there !

  13. Good evening friends

I’ve just sent in my entry to the Zombies Points Competition and like anyone else who has done so I’m waiting on confirmation on how to pay. This particular competition is being organised by Marc and GG whilst I’ll continue to look after the still-in-progress-LMS8 and then start to prepare for the next big one – a bit like Last Man Standing but then again completely different!.

Well Hoopy The Huddle Hound has just signed a new contract so Glib will need to remove his kid’s inheritance from the ginger bottle crate if they’re thinking they can prise away the best four-footer midfielder in Scotland…

That Calendar idea. It’s had a few minutes to sink in……

    ….. I feel sick :-)

  16. Pedigree signing criteria,

    A, he’s past his best

    B, he can’t run

    C, they can’t afford him

  17. Looking forward to tonights Friday Night Footbal featuring probably 2 least disliked other Scottish teams (apart from CFC and EKFC obviously).

Both team unbeaten in their last 8 league games and The Arabs have slightly the better record in thos 8 games – 6 wins and 2 draws compared with Lenny’s Hibs’ 4 wins and 4 draws.

And I understand a healthy 5-figure crowd expected too.

With no real preference on who I’d rather win (Hibs probably just edge it) I’m just hoping that more football breaks out than the last TV game I watched! Oh and if there happens to be at least 3 goals, 5 cards and 12 corners I’ll be even happier as tomorrow’s anticipated losses will be covered ;-)

speaking of dogs…. have you guys seen the things that is on the internet about the wife who told her husband she had found a new dog, and when she sends a picture to her husband, it turns out to be a coyote …. hystertical, but a bit (okay, a lot sweary!). so I’d probably get in trouble for posting it … but worth a look on the old internet … very funny!

  19. Election by the numbers……………..

This really puts things into perspective…

    From one of the 60+:

The best explanation of why the Founders had unbelievable wisdom in designing the Electoral College.

It also illustrates that the Democratic Party does not represent the country, just the heavily populated east

and west coast mega cities which are out of touch with the vast majority of the country.

There are 3,141 counties in the United States.

    Trump won 3,084 of them.

    Clinton won 57.

    **********************************

There are 62 counties in New York State.

    Trump won 46 of them.

    Clinton won 16.

    **********************************

Clinton won the popular vote by approx. 1.5 million votes.

In the 5 counties that encompass NYC, (Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Richmond & Queens) Clinton received

well over 2 million more votes than Trump. (Clinton only won 4 of these counties, Trump won Richmond)

Therefore these 5 counties alone, more than accounted for Clinton winning the popular vote of the entire country.

These 5 counties comprise 319 square miles.

The United States is comprised of 3, 797,000 square miles.

When you have a country that encompasses almost 4 million square miles of territory, it would be ludicrous to even

suggest that the vote of those that encompass a mere 319 square miles should dictate the outcome of a national election.

Large, densely populated Democrat cities (NYC, Chicago, LA, etc) don’t and shouldn’t speak for the rest of our country.

And Jill Stien and Hillary want a recount that will cost millions of dollars

    And to quote Hillary,,,,,,,,,,,,

“Anyone not willing to accept the result of an election is a danger to Democracy”

Jobo, when I got off the train at East Kilbride about ten to four, there was a Dundee united fan waiting to get on it.

I read on the Internet that. 10000 tickets had been sold by Wednesday for tonight’s game.

I would rather have a Leith Hibs win rather than a Dundee Hibs victory. The Leith Hibs gave my dad a belated birthday present at this year’s cup final and for Neil.
